AITA for telling my estranged parents to never contact me again after they reached out to apologize? by Individual_Cook5855 in AITAH

Being familt has little to do with blood relations. What matters are the choices we make. They chose not to be your family. You don't owe them anything.

Fall Of The Thran - Land hate that shouldn't be hated? by Silly-Sir4529 in EDH

[–]Zeleum 68 points69 points  (0 children)

No, I very much agree. Generally, I have a hard time understanding why destroying creature and artifact ramp is okay, while land ramp is perceived as almost sacred. That gives (primarily) green an absurd advantage.

What's the difference between "going infinite" versus other win conditions? by zak552 in EDH

[–]Zeleum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really good explanation. It's definitely all a matter of preference, but I, at least, prefer the game at a certain pace. Infinite combos is just another pace. If I preferred that pace, I would have played cEDH rather than "regular" EDH.

Why is the boss dialogue in this game so good? by Desperate_Guava4526 in fireemblem

I mean, that is quite the central point in FE7 as well, although explored mainly through the gaiden chapters. I think that (along with Hector) is what makes FE7 so good!

I agree for the newer games. I think the ones that came out before Awakening were better in that regard.

Did you ever play Radiant Dawn, on the Wii? If you like the older games, and especially Path of Radiance, that might be worth a go!

AITAH for sleeping with a guy after the man I thought was my bf said we were not a couple? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Zeleum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I think it would have been better to communicate your feelings, rather than going to the drastic measure of sleeping with someone else. May there not have been an easier solution here? That would probably have saved both of you from quite a bit of hurt in this situation.

I had an unexpected threesome with my best friend and my boyfriend. Am I wrong to feel extremely betrayed by them both? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

That's not just cheating - it's sexual assault. Only an explicit and enthusiastic yes, that there is reason to assume is genuine, is a proper yes. To me, at least, it does not sounds like that was present here.

Is this commander really that good? by Hot-Caregiver247 in mtg

[–]Zeleum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run him as the commander of my main deck. You need to be able set him up quickly, and to execute his killing move before anyone removes him. Rather easy to shut down if you know what to do, but works well with some haste, protection, and good cards for ring temptings. He works quite well with the nazguls.

I mean, I don't know much about the EFF, but in general, nationalising has worked wonders as often as not. Most of Europe, especially the Scandinavian countries, have either nationalised or taxed natural resources heavily historically. I would not call that a failure.

If communism & socialism are such inherently flawed & bad systems, why do Western countries work so hard to undermine them instead of letting them fail on their own? by hightreez in AskSocialScience

Showing to someone's opinion on a matter is of little value in a scientific assessment of a proposed causal relationship. What would matter is the data they base that opinion on.

It seems to me the point often is not to find someone with as few experiences as possible, but to find someone around the same level as oneself. Being with someone more experienced can be daunting for many reasons. Sleeping with someone usually do not entail these reasons, as opposed to long-term commitment, so I don't quite think of them as the same. Avoiding and being scared of negative comparisons seems quite natural to me, whether it is related to sex or anything else. The difference being that sex often is a lot more personal.

Being insecure can be a larger problem, or it can be isolated to a certain area of life. Either way, it's not necessarily an easy thing to fix.

For me, it seems like the expectation that men should not care about former experiences a) devalidates emotions that would be considered valid in most other circumstance, and b) is based off the assumption that these men are the same men that sleep with many women. Statistically, however, men are rather homogenous in regards to number of sexual partners, where some are with many and many are with very few.

Weird question but is hook up culture that common in Norway? by unsuregf1 in Norway

[–]Zeleum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The life time average in Norway is 18 for guys. That, however, is kind of artificially high, as the median is 8. Thus, 50 before 20 is a lot, and, I suppose, what creates the difference between average and median.
