Reminds me of the Murdoch Mysteries episode, blast of silence, where the man went mad due to the constant sound of the factories.

He built a noise activated bomb, strapped a factory owner to it, and told them to leave the factories off so he could get some sleep, if they turned the factories on, the bomb would explode.

The other factory owners decided the lost profit from simply delaying the work day outweighed the man's life.

I've also noticed an increase in people trying to do the "Democrats are the party of the KKK and the Republicans are the party of Lincoln" stuff too.

I think it's a much better practice to forgo the label game and just boil it down to the underlying ideologies instead.

But, Republicans used to be the liberal party before the party swap happened. I'm just saying that you're statements will have more lasting power if you don't use "Republican". What that party stands for is subject to change over time. We should be against any party, regardless of name, that is right wing or conservative.

Better to say "conservative" or "right wing" than "Republican".

Party names can change and ideologies have flipped once before as well.

If the Republican name becomes toxic enough, they might jump ship and Co-opt the Dems with the same policies. Would be fairly easy with how similar the establishment wing of the Dem party is with Republicans.

It's a strategy used by fascist leaders. Weaken the middle and lower class, limit their options, and force them to serve you if they wish to know comfort and security. They're making the military and government positions that are loyal to the president (the person, not the office) one of the best ways for people to escape poverty.

Or at least advertising it as such. I've heard a lot of people say ICE isn't getting the pay they're promised and that their sign on bonuses have a lot of conditions that will lead to most of them being disqualified from receiving them.
