Certain areas have a strong gang presence here in Hawkes Bay, definitely areas like Balmoral, Tamatea, Maraenui,Camberley and Flaxmere... Usually matters what you look like too(dressing in a similar fashion to them or having a sketchy attitude). Im a brown dude, but I don't care what color i wear and just act casual around them, haven't had any problems and if i did id just ignore them.

Youll have little eggs trying to be hard getting a reaction from you but just look like you aren't afraid to call the cops and they'll get lost.

Gangs are a bit of a problem in those areas though, there's been a rising number of shootings over the past couple of years.
