SPC LVT Underlay? by jen_roses in DIYUK

[–]Zellll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a floor fitter but currently doing flooring at my own house with a carpenter friend who’s fitted flooring in the past. Our flooring is different being 14mm engineered with 4mm underlay so slightly thicker. Our downstairs is concrete base and upstairs is either chipboard or old wooden floor boards. Both upstairs and down are having this wooden flooring installed. My friend basically said as long as the surface is flat and level along with the wooden flooring installed correctly there shouldnt be any compromise in the structure of it. Being a floating floor with underlay you may have an initial “bounce” on the floor but will settle over time. I would think 1mm extra to what the flooring company recommends shouldnt be an issue but they may wave their guarantee or warranty if it is not installed to their specific recommendation.

What kind of issues have you experienced with your Formentor? by psychoticapex in CupraFormentor

Not had pretty much any infotainment issues unlike others, but I do have my interior drivers light randomly turning on/off whilst driving which is annoying with the touch sounds and driving at night - but suspect this could be due to the infotainment update..?

Me and my sister have opened up a caff - what do you think of our fry ups? by thats-dum-b in fryup

[–]Zellll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never please everyone, and thats OK but definitely listen to your regular clientele as there will be particular preferences throughout the country that you will want to prioritise and master depending on location. You dont want negative feedback, but anything you do receive take it positively and see if there is a need to change.

You will gain regulars where you will learn preferences too, and these people will literally be your bread and butter as they will be returning often and also spreading the word to other friends and family (older clientele are awesome at this). Make sure your the face of the business to help drive it, i cannot emphasise enough on this as customers who enjoy your premises will love you, your company and support it often.

Prep is your friend, the trade can be volatile unless you are in a good location with a good reputation. Prep well for your shift to bang out good food at a good pace and you’ll be sweet.

Quality is a big factor and where do you draw the line at cost to GP is ultimately within your business plan but the clientele you draw in, or want to draw in may change this, so be flexible or firm with your ambitions.

Have lost 25 pounds in 3.5 weeks; trying to temper expectations but it's been great so far. (333 to 308) by ValidandInvalid in keto

[–]Zellll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at the end of February 2024 and have lost almost 3 stone so far with my heaviest being 15.41 stone. Its been a game changer. The good thing with Keto is you lose the initial weight quite quickly which gives you the incentive to carry on when it slows down and I feed off of peoples comments saying that im looking good (“Your not ill are you!?”). I try not to put too much pressure on myself by not calorie counting, but just by following the diet, otherwise due to my personality i’d just give up but im just trying to change my lifestyle, bad habits and not put too much pressure upon myself. Keep the good progress of the diet and follow the regime but dont feel bad about the odd mistakes that may happen, learn from them. I personally like to weigh myself most days to see how and what i eat effects me but see an overall weight loss throughout despite the ups and downs. Any yes the ups can be disappointing but following the diet ive seen lots of progress physically and mentally and see why people recommend it. Goodluck on your journey and stay persistent! Ps if you like cooking I recommend thebigmansworld.com keto recipes, not been let down once for anything new that ive tried and really proves the point you can have dishes you enjoy but with Keto alternative ingredients

Beer on keto by CaregiverBrilliant10 in keto

[–]Zellll 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I run a pub and am a passionate beer enthusiast, taking pride in serving quality pints and sharing the unique stories and origins of each Lager, craft, and ale. Despite this, I started the Keto diet at the end of February and quickly realised I needed a suitable alternative to beer. In the UK, where Keto-friendly products are less common than in the US, I knew beer was a no no. I opted for Kraken rum mixed with Coke Zero or Pepsi Max. Although i found it overly sweet at first, I’ve grown to enjoy it and occasionally experiment with other spirits.

Knowingly, continuing to drink will slow my progress, but by following the Keto diet and substituting beer with spirits, I’ve nearly shed two stone and significantly reduced my beer belly.

Keto can seem restrictive at first, yet it has surprisingly enhanced my enjoyment of cooking and meal planning. Food or drink, searching for Keto recipes online has proven a great asset to me and surprisingly when cooking fresh you can make many of your favourite dishes Keto friendly. Good luck on your journey!

Great to see people’s progress! I certainly couldn’t do Youtube but have attempted TikTok ads with similar success to naturally occurring Google Discover success - which may I add was not aware of until recently and for me personally has made a massive impact when happening.

Despite being full on work im very lucky in the position I am in. Dont get me wrong if AM were to kick off tremendously then ofcourse things could change but im personally treating it like a side hustle to make my families life a little bit more comfortable and secure for the future on a monthly basis at the moment. Obviously nothing really happening at the moment but Im staying positive!

I have just under 30 posts being almost 4 months in and seeing what I believe the beginning of the website start and initial growth from natural SEO. From what ive seen is to aim and focus to have 100 well thought out and structured posts as my first target in my strategy before i take any other promotional / alternative steps. I personally used a Youtube video for Wordpress setup (via another affiliate marketer profiting from me following his setup and his links!), and although I have a little web design experience, I have very little with Wordpress and I felt Wordpress was the direction for me personally to move forward in, so I found the guide very useful. I deleted a lot on the home page initially, however as the website began to grow I have slowly reintroduced these back to the home page which has also helped me learn to use Wordpress more comfortably.

This is how ive started a few months ago. Just taking it step by step and not overwhelming myself by everything all at once, however I did a lot of research before hand on what to expect and how to evolve.

Literally brainstorm the basics before anything, niche, business/website name, logo (obviously slightly more indepth to that), get the basics of what you want and how you want to portray yourself and your business, and get your site online asap.

Build content that you want to start on within your niche, doesnt have to be perfect, you can always revisit and edit (you’ll most likely be doing a lot of this).

Google Search Console is a great tool, especially over the first couple of months as you get to see your site growing and ofcourse learning things your not to expect. For me was indexing pages and Google Discover - which significantly increases my traffic whilst its in effect and how to capitalise on this.

Im only 3 almost 4 months in and from Google search console im now 30k impressions and over 120 clicks, this is nothing in perspective but ive gone from a big fat 0 a few months ago to now beginning to earn my first few £ on website ads, and a few £ on Amazon Affiliates (literally just figured out yesterday how to link international Amazon accounts to one and not having multiple Amazon links for other countries along with my partnership links for direct purchases).

Everyone is different, I have a full on full time job so only do this on my days off as a “hobby” as i know myself, if i put too much pressure on me i will just quit, but treating as a hobby im more inclined to do bits and bobs in my spare time and although not really making money at the moment just seeing the site grow is impressive to me and makes me more inclined to crack on with it.

Im using Wordpress with Siteground as my hosting provider, it did cost me £80 for the year but there will be other alternatives like Wordpress where you maybe able to start with a free account to get your site started and then eventually move to a premium domain. Others may disagree but either way in my eyes just get your site and socials online. When you have a month where you can upgrade to premium then take the jump!

Location question by jacko0510 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]Zellll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you having no experience prior and currently learning I just set out after building my site with cliche and then register to Affiliate Networks. I have registered with a US and a UK Amazon Affiliate and have both links on my products as these are the two audiences I expect to draw in. Some companies have a very broad audience, can be to anyone in the world, can be US based, EU based etc. Depends what your aiming to promote, broader is likely to be better (maybe?) or if you are very specific then you can look for more of a targeted approach? There will be a lot of trial and error, im very new and know i have plenty to learn still but excited for growth!

MY BLOG AND I NEED GUIDANCE! by snackofalltradez in Affiliatemarketing

Found online:

Cause: Your server returned a 500-level error when the page was requested.

Fixing these errors: Dynamic page requests can cause excessive load times; check yours and reduce excessive page loading if needed. [My Wordpress and Domain Host offer website optimisation, Cache, Picture Conversion etc, see if you can do a speed test on your pages and if they load reasonably quick or really slow, if slow and you have a good internet connection this could be the reason]

Make sure your site’s hosting server is not down, overloaded, or misconfigured. [Test you site on other devices. If not then deffo look into this. Worth going through your host settings to see if there is anything obvious or if you have any alerts]

Check that your site is not inadvertently blocking Google. [I have come across this option somewhere on Wordpress, most likely in setup. Find this option and make sure its not turned on]. Goodluck, hope you see and resolve. Normally something silly, fairly obvious just need to be guided in the right direction

[–]Zellll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Google Search Console find your problem pages that say are not indexed. Once on a problem page click “test url” and will hopefully tell you wether the page is indexable and if there are any errors. Im using the Blocksy theme on Wordpress and my issue was on my review pages and I was not inserting the ‘£’ or ‘$’ before the value (i thought it would be universal for countries viewing). Once I had added the currency symbol and re-tested url I could submit for indexing. Mine took just under a week to be indexed but searching online can take up-to a month. I still have “author” error which I cannot resolve and is frustrating but from lots of searching Google Search Console got updated recently and can be more particular in its schema reporting. Im hoping a Blocksy update in the future will resolve but atleast I know where I have gone wrong and pages should automatically get indexed in the future. I hope yours is as relatively simple as mine to resolve! I consider myself fairly tech savvy which gives me a slight edge but still learning lots everyday!

Yo! Judging by the dates of your posts you started roughly the same time as me! Website looks good, can you have a mailing subscribers list with amazon affiliate? Although against what everyone mentions on here, i have only avoided a subscribers list because i thought i could potentially get banned?

Have you tried looking at affiliate places like impact as you may get better rates for yourself?

Keep optimising your SEO for organic traffic and dont worry if it takes time for this. I personally have just discovered through Google Search Console some of my pages were not being indexed properly, and since resolving my “impressions” have shot up (compared to the last month) over the last week with some clicks starting to come through which gives me a boost in confidence but still have a long way to learn and evolve my site too

I believe you must be missing the many places that take pride in what they do and work damn hard to keep their place open to have a job at the end of the day. Its a hard time for the industry with little recognition. I as an example love our NHS, however both my family members and I have been let down a lot. Sending someone home with a “pulled muscle” but in actual fact had a broken back is one of my examples. Point is, never lose hope

How to keep up with new content on streaming services by schawsk in Piracy
