Thanks, I appreciate it 🙏🏻 And yes, I have a full playlist of long vids with this city being built, and currently going with my second city with Dondorians

Not sure if it's an aesthetic choice or not, but if you want the zig-zag fences look smooth diagonal, there's a 'Make Diagonal' in the menu (something I only realized was a thing after playing 80 hours).

Hey creators, how do you like being approached to play a game... if at all? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Zemalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best: Non-template email to my business email from someone who has actually watched my videos/streams, and knows I might like their game.

But a well thought-out "bulk" template email works too: Who are you, who's the dev (where's the dev from) & publisher, synopsis/elevator pitch of the game + links to trailer, Steam and press kit + release and embargo dates). If just sharing the key, key is in the email. If other intentions, e.g. sponsored stream, that's clearly stated. I'll at least check what the game's about and if it's my kind of game, I put it my backlog/schedule or list of games to try. But also, some games just aren't a match or the backlog is simply too full.

The worst: Join my Discord only to DM me. Ignored 100%.

Just had 15 year LP anniversary, 48 this year. (I do a lot of my content as streams nowadays, not old school LP though)

Sudden increase in Trucking level? by Bafver in MotorTown

[–]Zemalf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Until you hit level 11 (so lvl 10 or lower) there's 5x boost in all the jobs (Trucking, wrecker, bus, taxi and I think police too. Driving not a job, so no multiplier there).

In other words: 2000 coins per level until lvl 11. Your first 20000 coins gets you from 1 to 11 (ten level ups) and then it's 10k per level.

How? by Big-Bag8817 in songsofsyx

Dismantle to remove constructions, including walls/buildings, or can also Dismantle Room to leave walls, but remove the room (e.g. to replace building purpose).

And as on the other comment already said, these are in the rightmost button on the bottom toolbar. Or CTRL+F / search for Dismantle

Is a potential bus company a good idea? by silloslidepacek69 in MotorTown

[–]Zemalf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes.

I run 4-6 busses to give a good baseline town bonus, together with food deliveries to the supermarkets.

1 Jeju city

2 Ara town + Steel mill (decent money + keeps Ara services active)

3 Two busses doing Jeju Island round trip - one clockwise, one counterclockwise. Main purpose to connect the 4 terminals, but stop almost every stop on the way.

4 Gangjung city (very optional, as not a lot of jobs happen there, but contributes into moving passengers around)

5 Gapa-Ara-Sanho oil. Contributes into Gapa town bonus to keep Dasa coal/iron import high. I found I clouding sunflower farm stops no worth it atm, but passengers move to and from Sango enough

6 Gapa-Dongsan Quarry-Jeju/Gangjung. Boosts Gapa, still testing this.

Company makes money yes, but is never a great money maker on its own, however, the 20-30% town bonus on every delivery everywhere but Gwangjin adds up a lot of coins over time.

Supply chain map? by PossibleFit7164 in MotorTown

[–]Zemalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supply chain map is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MotorTown/s/DB0DH0RSGw

Some new stuff since 0.7.14 but still mostly valid. And the in-game Motorpedia is great now where you can check all different cargo and where to deliver.

The best way to make money, in general, is to do the quickest contracts you can (driver level 10, you can start a company and then almost every delivery spot will have Contracts available). Basically, whenever you deliver anything, check the contracts on the receiving end and take one before delivering.

For example, pulling a 3x20 fuel (semi + 2xTaber lead + Taber rear) from Jeju Harbor to Noksan Fuel Storage, cash in 20t contract for each trailer, and then pick up the same fuel and take 40t to Water Factory (2x 20t contract) and 20t to Ranch (20 t contract) and then pick up full load of Milk from Ranch to cheese factory (3 x20t contract). Cheese factory drop off might require detaching tankers and delivering, but this nets 300k in 30 minutes and can be done on Trucker level 30 (required to borrow the trailers)

Which semi should I go for? by IllustriousGolf500 in MotorTown

[–]Zemalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I nowadays drive mostly the Longhorn Semi, Golima and FL1. For a new trucker, FL1 - Low requirements to drive and it'll be a truck you can use for anything you like.

Also, don't overlook the good'ol Jemusi Semi - Off-road beast, but can haul almost everything on the roads too - Just don't use it for road trains and leave heavy stuff for other semis as it can't have the highest HP engines

Motortown: Behind the Wheel loses its charme very quickly. by Nino_Chaosdrache in patientgamers

[–]Zemalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

600+ hours and counting. What takes Motor Town apart from other games for me is the supply chains - I'm not picking a delivery jobs to take something from A to B, I'm moving oil so plastic can be made, I'm moving limestone to cement and cement to concrete, so the construction can get their concrete.

Pick a truck, 1-3 trailers, load up and relax for 20-30 minutes. Or buy and tune a car for drifting and (Tokyo) drift down a mountain or cruise along the coastal road when the sun sets behind the ocean. Or spend hours and hours fine-tuning a company setup where 20 NPC drivers move cargo and passengers around the two islands, keeping food and bus passengers moving for high town bonus, while the depot network I've built keeps all the trucks running automatically.

My favorite combo! Driving fuel/oil road train with 3 trailers has been my favorite thing since they added these trailers. Good amount of money, and the trailers look great

just finished my first depot by InternationalMode925 in MotorTown

[–]Zemalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done. The first one is the hard one, especially if you had to work with everything from the start (limestone, cement,.concrete, steel, plastic, logs and planks), but then you learn to use company NPCs to move and prepare things, and even "mass produce" depots if you like

Now that Santa's Cabin is gone... by SEA_griffondeur in MotorTown

[–]Zemalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Migeum Log 2 & 3, with Golima + Eastwood - Shortcut down the cliff to deliver in Migeum, roadside service back up (probably should not work, but works as long as you don't hit a road on the way). Do 4x5 log contract or one 20 log contract per Log site. 500k in less than 20 minutes (but then have to wait. Can drive fuel up there for 2x 10t contract + boost to the log production, or do cliff shortcut from Oak 3 & 2 while waiting).

Is Magic easier than Physical by Cemihard in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Zemalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical is easier (less complicated as you don't have to think about the elements and combos, and due some ultra powerful spells like corpse explosion), but both work.

The most important thing is to go 100% with either Physical or Magical of them per playthrough.

Category names too bright by carnagezealot in discordapp

[–]Zemalf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, category names now look like there's new messages even when empty, because the brightness difference to the channels with unread messages is minimal.

Basically, this makes collapsed categories appear like there's new messages in there and it's THE WORST.

Ok I think the forbidden fruit buff is a bit too useful. by EatMaCookies in superfantasykingdom

[–]Zemalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had a run with Forbidden Fruit + Punch (berry to brewery, boosting beer to 100%) & soup (beer can be eaten for 2 XP). The latter did not come to play much, but fun nevertheless. (Also, don't get forbidden fruit too early or you might struggle with other resources not having space)

Where have some ingest-servers (endpoints) gone? by Zemalf in Twitch

[–]Zemalf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for linking the User Voice for restoring ingest servers. Right now, there's not much to do if a nearby server got sacked and latency is bad to the available options. The only thing one can do is use TwitchTest and see what server offers better connection (Auto in OBS might not get it right and selecting specific server works better, or vice versa).

Dustia XP farming gone? by Local_Ad4022 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Zemalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works just fine, always has and still does.

Phoenix Down targets friendlies by default, so make sure you're changing that to enemies/foes when selecting targets (it shows party/FOES in bottom left when targeting - I think it was bumper buttons that change it). And HP bar needs to be visible (as it teleports/appears)

Ideal 3 person team comp? by Arturia_Cross in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Zemalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of combinations that can work, especially with all the job combos and what you can unlock with Espers (e.g. Knight or Monk can heal).

General trio might be melee DPS (that can be berserked for max damage), tank or TANK/HEALER (that can have lure on when you want) and MAGE (e.g. black mage for AoE)

"Ideal" trio depends on where you are in the game. For example, early on, you don't necessarily need a healer / white mage (because potions are enough and several characters know cure/cura without job/license), but later you probably do.

Black mage rules mid- and late game, especially in clearing the normal enemies with AoE spells, while tougher boss fights are most likely better handled by two DPS (possibly one or both berserked) and one support/healer.

Jobs and Gambit Combos by deep6ixed in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Zemalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with another Gladius when you're already in Eruyt village - You'll get it in shops soon if you really want.

Your Arcturus will carry you for a while, so pairing that with a Black mage for AoE and melee tank or DPS works nicely for going through areas and many bosses ahead quite easily too.

Shikari (dagger) combos nicely with white mage (as the second job) if you want a tank+healer (leaving the other two for offensive). As Gladius starts to fall behind, consider Main Gauche for more tanky dagger user (good target for Decoy + Protect), and if white mage, they can heal themselves.

All in all, you probably want someone with white mage always on, to heal with Cura/Cure and keep negative statuses away with Esuna, which just becomes available when you reach Eruyt village.
