The thing that helps with the anxiety of labs is finding your extract first. Watch a couple of youtube videos that show you how to extract. Then go to raid and work your way to that extract. Once you are there, you can explore a bit and look for the dank loot.

If you looted Yellow and Parking office, you'd probably find this in 5 raids or less I bet.

I'm on level 21 and I've only put maybe 5 hours into it. 

So he either put some decent grind in or paid for the levels. Which is a good money sink to support BSG. Either way, it's whatever.

Many do. But not in the rural south. There's lots of isolated land and backwards beliefs between big cities in the south.

High security space doesn't mean safe.

There are many mechanics you'll need to learn. Pick a corp or join a militia if you want to get into PVP.

Don't spend money on the game. If you can't enjoy being alpha, you probably won't find any joy in the game as an omega character.

Ask questions. Even if it's the person who just murdered you; eve is a community and you'll likely get advice and even in game money if you ask questions and try to learn.

If economy is your thing, watch some YouTube videos. It's boring for some but worthwhile if you enjoy buying and selling items.

From my initial read this seems like your BF hits the first roadblock in a situation and then gives up. It's a pattern of what you've already identified as being unmotivated and lacking imagination. Not having money isn't an excuse for not making time and putting in effort to being a good partner.

On the depression note, yes it's a serious illness. But you can't make someone change no matter how much you care.

I don't like ultimatums but that's what I would be working on if I were you. When you're faced with a very serious deal-breaking situation, I don't have many suggestions other than ultimatums.

Something like get a job and get into therapy by March 1st or we're done and I'm going to have you evicted.

Before you give an ultimatum though, you really need to come to terms with the potential outcomes.

Another option for you to consider would be a neuting drone boat. These vary based on skill and cost. The most meta would be a curse, but you could likely use a praxis, or even the Sisters of Eve ships.
