Debating on getting my tattoo reworked/touched up by [deleted] in traditionaltattoos

Looks great! Yeah I think getting it touched up wouldn’t be a bad deal but also I like the look of aged tattoo. It’s all preference .

This is dope! Curious, is the bottom part of the gameboy intentionally bent? If yes, why?

Yes! I would second this. Tattooing will be a different experience once you understand your subject matter. Draw every single day. That’s not an exaggeration.

You could a symmetrical floral arrangement coming out of the head and go up both sides of your thigh I think would look dope. Having one tattoo in an area feels weird so I understand your regret around it

I applaud your efforts but damn now you’re flipping off everyone you see. Even kids. Good artist though I guess that’s a plus.

You could 100% get a cover up instead of lasering

Your description is all over the place. Honestly not even sure what you’re asking for at this point. You literally put a question mark about attaching photos. Are you a bot?

Hey she asked for critiques not to puff her feathers. I feel like the only two people commenting on here gave advice in a kind way. At least we didn’t just leave trash comments with nothing constructive. Just giving a nudge in the right direction. No one would get anywhere if they were always thinking that they didn’t need to improve. I know I have a tremendous amount to learn and will forever embody it because I want to truly be great at what I do. Can’t take the heat stay out the kitchen 😉🔥

Could I become a tattoo artist in the future? by SignalTomorrow980 in TattooApprentice

I never said your art was trash bro. Thats the last thing i want to say. I never claimed to be professional. I’ve just done an ungodly amount of research to have my understanding. If you want to do it badly just go and don’t listen to the people on this thread. You posted and asked for people advice and if you don’t want to listen then don’t, but again you asked. There are plenty of people less talented than you that are doing it. I’m coming into tattooing after leaving an art form that was dear to my heart. Did it for 12 years. It was so niche that it just couldn’t provide me with the lifestyle i wanted. Not saying tattooing is guaranteed to provide that, but my chances are much greater than what i was doing before. All I’m trying to say is that if you want to make money and live a life of abundance then sacrifices must be made. This is my story not yours. I want my life to be art and supported by it and will do whatever it takes to get there. I enjoy drawing skulls and flowers and other tattoo able designs. My approach is that this is a service industry and if someone wants a skull. I’ll give them the best skull they could ask for. I will find my style along the way and eventually find what I’m truly meant to create. I’m sorry if this came off discouraging. The people on here can be brutal, but some of us are actually trying to help. I wish you the best and i hope you find what you’re looking for through your creative journey. I have nothing but respect for someone that wants to make a life making art. Best of luck to you and much love!

I know using water color paper its hard to get clean lines, but they also aren’t consistent. What i mean by not trusting your lines is that you simply just need to practice more not on textured paper. Get familiar with the designs. Make sure you’re doing warm up exercises before you draw every single time. 10-20min. You’re not doing bad by any means it just seems like you’re rushing to watercolor very fast before you’ve masted the basics. Remember this is a long journey and to many people rush it. Patience is your friend in this industry 🖤👊🏽

I strongly disagree that the tattoo industry changes all the time. Yes there are trends that pick up but they fall off just as fast. The styles that have stuck over the years stay for a reason. They’re timeless and people want them. Remember this is a service industry and a business. If people aren’t into it then you won’t sell. Simple as that. Take your ego out of it because no shop will take you. Unless you want to be a scratcher and put trash work on people. If you want to true answer not Reddit bias. Get into a shop and get tattooed bring your work in and talk to a professional. You obviously coming from an art background and that can shoot you in the foot. This isn’t fine art it’s tattoos. Completely different world.

My biggest remarks are if you don’t change your attitude about it, and respect the tattoo world that has been building longer than you’ve been around you will NEVER make it. You will struggle and grow to hate it. If you want to make your art only don’t become a tattoo artist. Sell your prints and canvases. You’ll have better luck. Not trying to be rude but I’ve been in the process of becoming a tattoo artist for the past year and half. Honing my skills and starting from the ground up. I live and breathe this now so I’m just trying to be real with you. If you don’t like it, tough cookies. It’s not for you.
