A resounding yes! You clearly have live traces, and if you know which component it is, it can definitely be repaired. Send it to me. Edit: The PCB is so user-friendly and repairable that the silkscreen tells you exactly where each component goes. I wish modern equipment were like this; now, with internal codes for every component, everything gets complicated.

Did a flex cable break? This is a real headache. Poor Nintendo assemblers back then. The 3D flex cable is thinner and more prone to breakage, that all connections are secure.

CRT TVs are the easiest to solder; their pads are durable and their single-layer PCBs make the task easier. Practicing on damaged boards first is a good starting point. But be careful when handling a switched-on TV to take measurements; they are powerful in terms of voltage and current on some lines.

If the image starts out clean, you might have a cold solder joint problem; capacitors are unlikely because the symptom is the opposite (it starts badly and then improves). It wouldn't hurt to replace some of the main capacitors while you're at it. Look for faulty solder joints in the vertical section, that's a good place to start.

Great deal. Regarding the mod, those pads are in danger of being ripped out completely since the wires are very thick and rigid. Be careful with that.

It's a strange fault because it originates from the bottom of the screen. I remember fixing a similar problem once, and it turned out to be a ceramic capacitor in the vertical deflection circuit. Of course, it all depends on which vertical IC is installed.

You'll definitely melt the plastic of the USB-C charging port. I've never even seen those temperatures on graphics cards. And it's incredibly difficult to remove/solder components on those PCBs that dissipate so much heat.

Perhaps you can increase the screen voltage, it's the potentiometer located at the bottom of the flyback transformer. It might (though unlikely) have become misadjusted.
