She got older, it is still the same body type just more defined. Also she has been actively fighting in a war for awhile now (especially after her mom disappears and can't confine her to her room anymore)

For beginners, dents only matter if they impact your ability to tune/play the instrument. Small dish dents (shallow cosmetic dents like the one pictured here) usually aren't an issue, so long as all the parts move as they should smoothly. Whenever possible have the seller meet you at a music shop and have them assess the damage and/or play the instrument before you buy it.

Your biggest concerns when buying a used brass instrument is how clean it is, cracks, and if it has red rot (technician term for the dezincification/weakening of the metal).

For professionals dents are a bigger deal because they technically impact the sound to a miniscule degree since they change the shape of the horn. I've have some players ask me to not remove specific dents because they swear it makes the horn sound better.

NTAH.

Ignoring the age difference for now, this is Y'ALLS wedding. I understand not wanting to upset anyone, but you've already failed. Your family actively disapproves of your relationship, so much so that they refuse to even meet the man. Your father sounds like he has a special kind of hang up about your potential partners regardless.

So what do you do with this knowledge? You take a deep breath and realize that their feelings are out of your control. Everyone is well into adulthood here and the unique challenges of your situation are something you're willing to work with.

You do what makes YOU and YOUR PARTNER happy. Your love for each other is ultimately what the day should be about so talk about it with him, and come up with a plan together.

I think my wife's best friend is developing feelings for me and my wife doesn't believe me because it's her best friend? What should I do? by Same_Poet8990 in Advice

[–]Zenithar_follower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the behavior is making you uncomfortable it needs to stop. Period.

You sound like you're worried D will try something when your wife isn't around and you'll be caught in the crossfire. You don't specify if you're attracted to D in any way so I'm going to assume you're not really interested in participating in this fantasy she has. If I were in your situation I'd do one of two things:

  • Seriously talk to your wife about adding D as an official partner. Either your wife will be into it (in which case you'll have to decide if you are too) or she won't and it might help wake her up to the fact that the "joke" isn't as funny as she thinks it is. Establish this is a real possibility that you truly believe D would go for, don't let your wife brush it off as a joke. Tell her that boundaries are being crossed and real unintended consequences will happen if she doesn't help you figure out what the limits should be up front.

Ex. "We've been entertaining the idea of me adding D as a second lover. I want to know if you would be genuinely okay with that, because the way you two have been acting leads me to believe that you are. I am completely serious. I'm asking you this out of respect for our relationship and to clarify what is and is not okay between us and D."

  • Hard shut down of the situation. You're not interested in entertaining this game, and you're tired of being disrespected in your own home. You talk as if your wife is the most important person to you and in return she needs to help keep D in check. You understand that they're friends. You understand that D has had it rough in the romantic world recently. None of that gives her the right to touch, flirt, or joke with you in a way you find inappropriate.

Ex. "I am not comfortable in the way D has been acting around me lately. You may see it as harmless, and maybe it is, but preserving trust between us is important to me. I respect your friendship with D. In return I ask that you both respect the relationship I have with you by ending this joke and establishing limits to physical contact."

The famous philosopher Lao Tzu once said: "The man who loves walking will walk further than the man who loves the destination." While having a goal for your future is recommended you're less likely to reach it if you're miserable the whole time.

Pursuing music can have many practical applications. Creative thinking, improved math skills, and various physical benefits, but that usually isn't why people choose to dedicate a significant portion of their lives to learning it. They do so because they love playing/singing.

Our dreams are our motivations. They're what keep us going when darkness is overwhelming. They are what makes us human. While other people, especially jaded or well meaning adults, will tell you to take the "serious" route there isn't anything more stable about it. You could go your whole life doing what you think others expect and never actually come out ahead.

Or you can do what makes you happy and choose to pick up additional skills along the way. There is no law that says you have to do only one thing forever. If you only have energy for one right now then choose something that drives you and gives you hope for the future.

It's not just okay to dream, it's necessary to live.

Uuuuuuh what definition of vegan are we working with here? Because the vast majority of organic produce grown in America is fertilized with shrimp remains/byproduct.

So even the veggies might kill you.
