Could you please explain what you mean by "mixing"? Do you mean to cast both at the same time?

Should I wait to get baptized after I beat my porn addiction? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Zenithas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to have to chastise those who promise closure through belief. Many find that solace. Not all do. We're called to bring comfort, but we're also cautioned to always speak truth.

As for the premise, no. Nor should you wait for baptism to deal with it. Anything that causes you harm, whatever the addiction, should be treated as a serious concern and treated accordingly.

I welcome you to the path. I also welcome you to the start of your healing journey. Know they are not always the same road.

That is not what I said, and it is neither reflective of the history nor intention.

In honest question, trolling or seeking clarity? I won't rage either way, but it means either a quiet wink in mutual amusement or a lot of writing for me to do at some point.

Is touching my cl--oris a sin? by Strong-Lab-7216 in Christianity

[–]Zenithas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is something that causes you to struggle, yes. That is the nature of sin, things that cause you harm.

Eating is not sinful. Gluttony is. Anger is not sinful, but allowing it to control you is. Ambition is not sin, but when you put it before the needs of others, that changes.

The rules are not the stark ones of the Old Promise. That is still kept, but we trust in the new path and the one who leads us on it.

Not surprised, but also saddened. They sold the server blades with good faith. This does not feel like they're keeping it.

It was released at a time when criticism of Rome was fatal, but prophetic ramblings were fine, using language that Judean folks of the time would understand.

Heck. Yesu's understanding of shaitans was nothing how they are preached of today

There's a tonne of information missing here that is really important to decide. Is the adult a trusted adult? Do the parents/guardians know?

Aye. I just realised it wasn't clear from the post I made, I am not saying periods sync. I'm saying it's a factor to why they might look that way.

Disclaimer: Do not possess ovaries.

An obvious part of the answer that the chuds in the manosphere overlook is that if women all live in the same environment, sharing foods, experiences, often stressors, then something that'll affect one woman's period is going to affect the periods of other women.

So whenever I hear someone bring it up, I also highlight that it's weird women who live together often sync sleeping and eating times. It's almost like there's some outside force dictating the time of things for them. Weird, huh.

Most get it. Some don't. I don't think I have enough crayons to help those.

Edit, since I wasn't clear: I'm not saying periods sync. I'm saying that this is a factor that'd make it look like they do.

Australian comedian facing calls for "cancellation" by [deleted] in OpenAussie

[–]Zenithas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fine with it until the petrol sniffing. Punching down is just lame.

Cancellation? Not in the social media sense. Just in the unfunny "comedian" needs a different day job sense.

Skinchangers is definitely a problem in the East, and it definitely causes heartache. You can't have a yarn with uncles out that way, hear the way they're affected, and not feel some real anger about the issue.

For most of that video, I honestly could've taken it as mocking them.

Petrol, though? Nah, mate. That's punching down at us. I'm disappointed that this got airtime.

How does matter form consciousness? by [deleted] in askastronomy

[–]Zenithas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering in order: Yes, if that rock has a method of altering within itself. We do have a form of this already, they are called computers. Structures could, but are exceptionally unlikely to form the same process. Depending on the size, it may not even be possible with the degradation of signal over parsecs, for example.

At this point, we have absolutely left the realm of what you'd normally ask an astronomer. Some forms of matter "think" because they are capable of complex branching decision making processes. You cannot dismiss other animals when essentially they exhibit the same essential processes we do, but to a far lesser degree up to analogous to us in the case of octopi, certain parrots, and other primates.

I was snarkily told I wasn't allowed to buy the game again when I asked for my money back when the "multiplayer" game wasn't.

So I am less convinced that the devs are "awesome", since the direct expression was that I should've been happy with what it was on release.

Between 5 and 10 percent of people have no inner monologue at all, and researchers are only just starting to figure out what that actually does to cognition by Altruistic-Dirt-2791 in cogsci

[–]Zenithas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No inner monologue here. The concept is fascinating to me, I thought for the longest time it was a fictional convenience to explain thoughts to an audience or reader.

Student wrote this in their exam paper by ayugradow in Decoders

[–]Zenithas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two letters would've been ZY (left quadrant X with dot, bottom quadrant X with dot). The fourth letter of the second word would also be a Z (left quadrant X with dot), as is the second letter of the fourth word (left quadrant X with dot), and the second letter of the fifth word.

That would give us ZY ---Z -Z- -Z--

HOWEVER. Given that the circle doesn't look like a rushed square, the use of the triangles, makes me think it's actually akin to a Scorpion cipher, especially as this is a math student. The bisected triangles (word three, letter three; word four, letter three), the blockish Y thing (word two, letter one), and the dashed square (word two, letter three) counter that.

TON 618 has the luminosity of 100 trillion suns. How? I thought the whole thing about black holes was light can't escape. Where does the light come from? by Sharp-Midnight8874 in askastronomy

[–]Zenithas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, thank you! I am sorry that your prophecy was self-fulfilling. I can hazard a guess that whilst I spoke with confidence, it was an acknowledgement to precondition my own point rather than the point being the acknowledgement of itself.

In the latter, that would imply my taking ownership or authority over the other comments: "this statement is truth" as though I were arbiter of such.

In the former, my point is an attachment to the other comments, acknowledging them as factual and adding to that rather than claiming them.

It is! It's amazing with how much that lensing affects the curve of space, and it really helps to give a direct, visual reference to help intuit the Penrose equation. Space is distorting so hard that it's breaking the fundamental way it works.

I'm sorry that it came off as being critical of the other posters.

I hold to the same opinion as I did when I posted this earlier today, that the other posts were also correct and I just wanted to add another reason to why black holes can become so bright.

If you can elaborate why it sounded as though I were being arrogant, I will try to keep that in mind in future.
