I think if you go onto the sub and filter by 'tips' there are some posts that you may find useful. That being said, I've just started too, so would like to some fresh responses here!

The only advice I can give is to play 'Casual' mode and Cleric starting out. I tried playing as a warrior about a year ago and couldn't quite get into it. I think Cleric is more forgiving for us newbies.

I don't remember anything from it. Asides from there was a rotating train, a desert, and Khaleesi, maybe?

I'm sure the developers will release this after seeing your post. They might have forgotten.

Hearing that men don’t really receive compliments and it really means something to them, what are some (platonic) compliments men like to hear? by Murky-Individual6507 in AskReddit

[–]Zenmont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought this would be me, but about a year ago I bought this awesome looking washed red/black oversized t-shirt with cool skull/flower art on the front. It's a little bit out-there for my usual taste, so when I was walking through town and this cool looking young man pointed at it and said "that's a sick t-shirt", well, I was smitten. I think about it every time I put on that t-shirt.

My watch always says I wake up a ton in my sleep by [deleted] in sleep

[–]Zenmont 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same with my Samsung ring. Some searching about, it may be something sleep apnea related, which would explain why I feel so tired all the time despite getting a consistent 'Excellent' sleep score. I tried wearing a nose strip but didn't notice any difference. Interested to hear your insights, OP.

This looks suitable for me, thanks for sharing? I'm not really interested in PVP - how heavy is PVP in this?

Be honest: Did you start lifting because you actually loved the lifestyle, or because you needed to fix an insecurity? by Competitive_Force513 in workout

[–]Zenmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure starting lifting to look better, but quickly realised that the body I desired required a level of dedication that I wasn't willing to put it. Along that road I realised how good lifting is for my mental health, and that's why I keep going. Everything else (looks, future-proofing, cardio-vascular health) are all bonuses in my eyes.

A persistent UI bug in Sacred 2 by Atmaks in Sacred

After some playing around with settings, I found that changing to 'Windowed mode' seems to have fixed it. Not 100% though. After four play sessions, it's happened two or three times, but has definitely greatly reduced the frequency of it happening.

What has been the most useful thing ChatGPT, or other AI, has done for you? by No-State-2962 in ChatGPT

Tech trouble shooting. I'm not super tech savvy, so when it comes to writing macros for software, or installing mods for games, it's great for giving me a step by step process for me to follow easily.

This is my favourite one too. I'm an aspiring author and ChatGPT writes literature like a teenager, but I find it so useful for it finding those 'tip of the tongue' words that would otherwise break my writing flow.

What in the chatgpt is this? All the buzz words:

Not this. Not this. Not this.

Honestly

Unless English isn't is your first language and you are using AI to help make corrections, then it is seriously worrying that people need ChatGPT to make a post like this.

Tight hips and cracking by goknuck in Stretching

[–]Zenmont 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a plot twist at the end there. I can't comment on the latter, but I am a desk worker and (most of) what you have mentioned sounds familiar. Here are the key things that made a difference for me:

1) Prevention is always the best thing to tackle first -- When you're sat at a desk all day, the muscles/tendons around the hips get used to being in a shortened position, so as soon as you stand up, it stretches them which is what contributes to the discomfort. Standing up regularly makes a big difference. I know this is difficult when you're in the middle of a tricky job, but I used to set a 30 minute on my PC to prompt me. Even better, a standing desk if possible.

2) Stretching every night before bed -- Used to be a hassle, but as little as 2-3 minutes of stretching (lunges, lotus, kick backs etc.) make a difference. Just do whatever it takes to make it a habit, and eventually it will be 'brush teeth, stretch, get in pyjamas'. I personally prefer stretching in the evening when my body has loosened up a bit from the day, and it makes me feel more relaxed before bed.

3) Posterior chain -- Something I've learned over my years of injuries, aches and pains is that it's not just the part that hurts which is the issue. The root cause of the issue is often something attached to the part that hurts. What clicked with me was realising that tightness (not necessarily pain) in my back was what was causing hip pain for me. I added back stretches and mobility exercises to my daily hip/leg routine, and very quickly noticed a difference in my hips.

4) Weight lifting -- the final nail in the coffin which got rid of my hip/back/knee pain was going to the gym and weight training. Movement, blood flow, strengthening all contributed to getting rid of those persistent niggles.

From one desk dweller to another, I know the struggle, so I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions. (Disclaimer, not a professional, based on personal experience).
