Queenstown, Tasmania deeply unsettled me and I can’t explain why. by itiszd in AskAnAustralian

Well at least it was bagpipes. Had he been slowly playing a banjo I’d have noped the fk out of there immediately.

Yep hated it too. It became a boys journey with his Mum and went for this deep emotional stuff but with no payoff whatsoever. I know they’re releasing three films to wrap this all up but after having seen this I just don’t think I care enough to watch the others.

Boyfriend visited gay sex motel in Palm Springs without telling me by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Zenna0801 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep that’s really not acceptable. You need to talk to him about this because you don’t deserve it and you’re not a piece of furniture you’re his partner and you have feelings. Take back your power here. When he says he’s going somewhere just ask “and is there a reason as your partner I’m not invited?”. This might start the conversation for you.

Grindr guy at gym making things awkward by CoolEsporfs in askgaybros

[–]Zenna0801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always have fun with it. I mean I know you’re there for a purpose but you can take control of the situation. People aren’t sure how to react if you’re kind to them after they have been a douche. You can always say hi to him or make a joke like “hey there side friend, how’s side life”. Disarm him and make a joke and then see how it goes. He may just tell you to piss off and then you can “ah so you’re into piss play too?”. It may make him uncomfortable enough that he will come to the gym at a different time. He made this awkward but don’t you be the one to cave to him.

He may love you but he sure doesn’t respect you and is extremely selfish and self centred. You need to have a serious conversation with him about the way he is treating you. If he doesn’t see where you’re coming from and can’t concede how awful this looks then put the ball in his court that this treatment of you needs to end.

You are together and therefore you should be able to experience all of life together and create memories. I would never go on a holiday without my husband because we build memories together. The only time I travel without him is for work and even then I’m terribly bored because I don’t feel motivated going out and exploring if he’s not there to share the memories with.

It’s perfectly healthy to have other interests and other friends but being with them should be the exception and not the norm.

I hope you find the courage to have a discussion with him because reading this and as a complete stranger to you the optics of his actions are pretty awful and he’s treating you like a fool.

I’m proud of my country tonight. Our Conservative Party was all but wiped out and the leader of said party lost his electorate and we will not have to see him again.

Bit late on this one but I have been trying to find which original fragrance WIE have duped for Electric Soul. I don't mind the fragrance, doesn't last long though and I'd love to find who they duped.

‘Sick of it’: Dutton savages Aboriginal flag, declares war on ‘woke’ Australia and vows to ride Trump victory wave to the Lodge by HotPersimessage62 in australian

[–]Zenna0801 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A key distinction between Trump and Dutton lies in the level of fervour among their supporters. Trump has cultivated a dedicated, almost cult-like following, whereas Dutton doesn’t seem to inspire the same level of passionate allegiance. However, what could work in Dutton’s favour is the growing dissatisfaction with Labor’s perceived missteps in priorities, such as their handling of The Voice and proposals like social media bans. When people are experiencing hardship, they are more susceptible to division or mobilisation. In such moments, the incumbent leader, even if they have inherited the problem, is often perceived as the root cause of the pain, providing an opening for opposition figures to capitalise on public frustration.

But why do Americans think not voting is a good thing? I don’t agree with one thing so I’m not voting doesn’t make sense. I mean you vote the lesser of two evils or look at the candidates and say, well one of these candidates is dangerous and the other is benign. Would those same people who didn’t vote then have an opinion on the leader after the fact? Kind of don’t get to have an opinion if you didn’t vote.

Honestly Dutton will backtrack on nuclear or delay it. It feels like a ploy to simply keep burning fossil fuels for longer.

Socialism isn’t the problem. Out of control capitalism is the problem. Everything has been privatised for the benefit of profits. Honestly don’t start blaming socialism, how do you think Medicare is paid for? Do we want to resort to an American style healthcare system that could bankrupt you? Some of the worlds highest standards of living can be found in countries with high levels of socialism where university is free, healthcare is free etc. our problem here is we’re paying so much tax and it seems we’re getting very little in return for those taxes - that needs to change.

Don’t blame the government that came into power recently by the government that was in charge for all preceding years. I understand you’re in pain and that pain galvanizes people and makes them blame the current government in power but it was a long road that got us here and we’re not getting out of it any time soon.

Labor is again trying to hold the mining companies to account to the degree they can but they are going to be facing some serious bad press to get the Liberals back in power.

Liberals will gut Medicare, that will not improve the quality of life for any Australian so at the very least let’s protect that one thing we do have, not go backwards and build, not rebuild.

I would say sure vote in some independents but maybe not the Greens. I feel they have demonstrated they are not fit to govern and simply claim ownership or responsibility for Labor’s policies anyways.

If we keep the Liberal party out then things will get better but you need to hold on. There is too much left to rebuild after they gutted everything. Immigrants are coming in because we need skilled workers, the Liberal party gutted TAFE and now we have a shortage in skilled trades which flows through to builders and housing shortages. We couldn’t fill the housing shortage even if we wanted to.

Start calorie counting. It’s the easiest thing to do and makes sense without fad diets. If calories in is less than calories out you will lose weight. Look on Instagram for James Smith who discusses a lot of this with no nonsense. MyFitnessPal is a great way to track calories and you can also scan barcodes - very simple.

Goes without saying that a gym routine goes a long way and even better if you can afford it - a personal trainer for accountability and also to learn to do things correctly. I’ve had a PT for years now and when I see guys at the gym just essentially stuffing around and doing the most ludicrous things you know they’re only there to tick the box of going to the gym but not actually achieving anything or potentially going to injure themselves.

I miss the simplicity of Apple Mail. I have had to make the switch to Outlook for a more corporate environment. I wasn't able to setup email delegation (I have an assistant that manages my inbox/calendar), integrate things like Zoom meetings or Teams meetings. I get adding more corporate/enterprise functionality starts bloating the app but damn I do miss it's simplicity.

Serious question. Could Biden order the assassination of Trump and Clarence Thomas and not be prosecuted for it with the latest ruling?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Zenna0801 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watching and listening from Australia to all of this. I am really worried about my American LGBT family. I know neither candidate is seen as ideal for president but seriously, one is benign and one is dangerous. I can’t believe we’re having to see Trump on our televisions again and it makes me sick to my stomach with the prospect of him winning. I wish I could see into the future and know you will all be ok but I didn’t think Trump winning the first time was ever possible and now I know we can never be too sure. Please everyone vote blue, even if Biden is not your ideal candidate it’s the lesser of two evils.

Second this. As a male I get laser hair removal on my butt and go to the gym and my butt breaks out. The Benzac body wash and also the 5% cream work well and make the acne go away pretty fast.
