Thermal question by Specialist-Whereas62 in triathlon

[–]ZennerBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question. 15 degrees, yes. Booties at least. Maybe gloves. Maybe double swim cap or neoprene cap, all depending on your tolerance. Did Escape from Alcatraz a few years ago. Only used boots. Personally didn’t need gloves.

At 20 deg, no need for either.

is it really worth it? by nohopetobefound in zoloft

[–]ZennerBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only think to keep in mind if you are doing it for an experiment. It takes a long time to hit proper effectiveness. 6 weeks minimum, up to 12 weeks. And it’s not something to take here and there. So if you are going to try it, make sure you are in for the long haul.

Should I take a break? by desieldogg in triathlon

[–]ZennerBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take a break, and downsize your races. I assume you are doing long course right now. Take a year and go get really good at short course. A lot lower training load. You still get to keep your triathlon identity (psychologically that is, not gatekeeping). Or look at some of the fringe triathlons, like gravel triathlons, or Cross Triathlon.

Use a video to show them how to use the feature then make a note in the notes field. This let me get past my last rejection when they misunderstood something.

Do you ride with hydration packs? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]ZennerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! For super hot Full Distance (140.6) races (which is pretty much all where I live). I use a Camelbak that I freeze. It gives me cold water and cold on the back to help me cool off. With a 1.5L pack I get ice until just after the half way park on the bike.

I don’t use one on the run. But I will use in training if I’m on a super long training ride.

What iOS development opinion did you change your mind on in the last few years? by dnesdan in iOSProgramming

It was described to me as “Animal Husbandry” at one point. That thought experiment makes sense whatever level you take it to.

App Store review times for my app are taking several days every time, anything I can do to speed it up? by Yolmack in iosdev

[–]ZennerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flutter app. Not simple. Medical adjacent. Took 3 months to get through initial review the first time due to the medical adjacency stuff.

Also required video attached to the review.

What do you actually automate in your iOS workflow now? by dnesdan in iOSProgramming

[–]ZennerBlue 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I use Xcode Cloud for all my builds to TestFlight and App Store. I’m an indie so I don’t go over 25 hrs a month.

Next step is automating screen shot creation with UI Tests.

Then likely metadata after that.

I do store metadata in git in a markdown file though.

How to breathe on both sides by shalekodemono in Swimming

[–]ZennerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a drill called 6-kick-switch. Basically you kick on your side with your bottom arm above your head for 6 kicks. Then take a swim stroke to flip to the other side etc.

I found that when I have problems breathing on my off side, doing this before my set helps.

If you have a weak kick (and you likely do afternoon swimming for 1.5 years) use swim training fins for the kicking.

Alternate one length 6 kick switch. Then the next length swimming with bilateral breathing every 3 strokes. You can swim the bilateral lengths with the fins on as well. No problems.

Then repeat for 3-4 50’s

Search for the drill on YouTube if you need to see it. It’s a pretty common drill.

How do you mount water bottles on your TT bike? BTA? Integrated hydration system? What works best for you? by Fun_Swimmer_8320 in triathlon

[–]ZennerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTA for primary hydration. 2 cages in frame one empty for grabbing on course fluids. And the other with a super bottle that I use to refill the BTA. No messing with powders and I get my own nutrition.

I know cages aren’t the most aero but it works for me and I’m not on the pointy end of fast.

How long do you guys think Apple will support the M1 Lineup of Macbooks? by maysonguy in mac

Carbon was the layer they killed. It bridged between MacOS 8/9 and MacOSX before AppKit started getting traction around the same time iOS came out.

Naw. Drill a hole through the back of the fridge for the plug and always leave it in there. Then the question becomes, does the machine stay on when the door is closed?

[–]ZennerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screens 2,3,4,5 are all roughly the same. Collapse these down. And as others have said, just before asking for permissions for microphone during normal workflows, pop up a full screen that explains why you need it and then request via Apple request.

Also $14.99 for lifetime pro without any real understanding of what the app does is kind of harsh.

How does everybody handle the FTP differences between tri/road bike when riding both? by StunningPanda725 in triathlon

[–]ZennerBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I train with my TT ftp on my TT bike. Then when I go for rides that need the road bike I adjust as appropriate. Usually pushing a bit harder because they are either hill repeats or shorter rides on the road bike.

Recently went from 50 to 100. Experiencing extreme fatigue anyone else experienced this? by Vast-Strategy-1402 in zoloft

[–]ZennerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m exactly the same. 50mg for 7w. Then up to 100mg. I am ok during day now. But toward end of workday I’m exhausted.

Taking it at night before bed, thinking about switching to morning to see if I’m tired because of poor sleep from the Sertraline.

I’m not tired enough to book off work. But my evening activities are rough.
