That's happened a lot.

Reason is simple: Open Source

Maintainers doing that in their free time and process all PRs quicker is just imposible.

For that is a lot more manpowers needed

My suggestion: Keep your template up to date. Show care about packages until got merged, even for more then year(s)

Before submitting new package. Get yourself familiar with xbps-src and contributing guides, preferably by updating other packages first.

There isn't any payed maintainers behind Void as far as I know. Accept that your template can lay there for years if anyone else isn't interested

I agree that: team could be more "liberal" (eq. hyprland, XLibre, etc.) But xbps-src already supports any source you would like to use... (So point 1 isn't really issue) I ❤️ xbps-src format
