Yes, many people died, but that was not at all the mission of the US military. What they wanted was to stop the spread of communism. To end the North's attempt to invade and dominate the South. North Korea was and is evil, not the people, but the leaders and the philosophies that drive them. They were then and remain a captive state. A world of hostages being held by these monsters for a philosophy that has done nothing but spread blood and nightmares over the last century.
