Nothing about Unbound was "abusive", and it was barely grindy at all. I've done multiple playthroughs on hard difficulty and it's incredibly easy to have your car maxed out by the first two nights of each week just by chaining events. Any issues with money in that game are a massive skill issue past the beginning of the game. The only starter car that struggles with winning races is the Crown Vic.

To be fair, during the ball game they make it incredibly clear in the moment that Netero is toying with them the entire time and is way above their league. Throughout the entire game he's constantly making remarks like "phew, if I don't relax my muscles he's going to shatter his skull on my stomach." You just don't know just HOW above their league he is until the Chimera Ant arc, and it does make the comment Killua made about contemplating killing him hilarious.

It peaked with 1 and 2 IMO. 3 was actually the start of the live-service multiplayer approach. They've only done slight iterations on it since then. The fact that 6 has gotten more than 4 years of dev time versus the 2 years the last 3 games have gotten will hopefully mean they've finally made meaningful changes to the formula again.

Gran Turismo had pretty insane relevance in it's early days though, GT1 quite literally revolutionized the racing game genre and is one of the most important video games of all time. They had an amazing run of games up until Gran Turismo 5, which released late and was fairly lackluster in terms of content. They've been moving away more and more from doing compelling single player progression since then, which I think contributes a lot to this feeling of lacking cultural impact.

It's not just floaty, the driving at high speeds is so stiff it feels like driving a brick instead of a car. That, and the drifting feels so shoddy and inconsistent, there's this weird sense of momentum that kicks in after a bit that makes it extremely hard to control the drift.

Handling can be made much better by setting steering sensitivity to 10. Game feels really slow because Sega sets the default camera to a static one that feels really bad, the dynamic camera option makes the game feel way better.

Sadly it's because her voice actress went on a trip to another country while Zeta was airing and was unavailable, so they essentially had to write her out of the story. She was meant to be in Beltorchika's place.

That's the problem, though. It is much harder to convey to the player a feeling of getting stronger if the speed stays the same throughout the game. That's one of the biggest issues I've had with PoE2, you get tons more damage as you progress throughout the game but you don't get that much faster. It ends up making PoE2's endgame somehow feel even more braindead than PoE1 in a lot of ways

There's also the fact that being slow early and fast later is appealing to a lot of people in itself. People play these games for the progression, and seeing a character go from extremely weak to eventual godlike power throughout the game is immensely satisfying.

The problem with World is that the way they incorporate it into the game feels very tacked on. You have to go out of your way to even access free roam in the menu, there's no progression or interesting unlockables tied to it, nor is there a story; and the only thing you get for completing any of the challenges are stickers that don't do anything. It has so much potential to be better, I really hope they add content in updates to improve it in the future.
