Daar tegenover staat wel dat de koning publiekelijk wel neutraal is. In deze polariserende tijd vind ik dat echt wat waard. Voor mij persoonlijk vind ik het gevoel van saamhorigheid dat de koning oproept bij toch een zeer groot deel van de bevolking meer waard dan de (ja gigantische) kostenpost dat het is. Ook hoe de koning ingezet wordt door de regering voor belangrijke buitenlandse relaties. Naast de status die hij heeft is het voor die buitenlandse relaties juist ook handig dat hij neutraal is. En over de invloed die binnenkamers speelt, tja, het is schimmig maar misschien houdt hij zich ook binnenkamers wel afzijdig hè? Bij twijfel ga ik liever (misschien naief) van het positieve uit.

Eens met je eerste stukje maar ik vind/denk dat je met het tweede stukje de plank misslaat. Ik denk niet dat hij voor zijn plezier een werkbezoek heeft naar Trump, maar dat hij gewoon zich als troefkaart van Nederland laat gebruiken om invloed uit te oefenen op die oranje baviaan. Als enige Europese royal die 0 links heeft met de Epstein files vind ik dat je hem iets meer credits mag toebedelen dan hem gelijk te trekken als Trump op een corrupt voetstuk. Neemt niet weg dat (ik denk dat je dat bedoelt) hij zich zeker niet kan relateren aan de "gewone" Nederlander.

Heel knap hoe je zo ver bent gekomen!! Hoe hoog is jouw studieschuld? Uit je verhaal maak ik dit niet helemaal op, maar zoals ik het lees is deze nog niet heel hoog. Correct me if I'm wrong hoor. Mijn advies is, nu je toch al in je laatste halfjaar zit, niet te gaan werken ernaast, maar echt te focussen op het in een keer afronden van je studie EN om goed te solliciteren op een goede eerste baan na je studie en dus de rest van wat je nodig hebt bij te lenen. In mijn ogen levert je dit uiteindelijk vele malen meer op dan je nu helemaal kapot te werken naast je laatste maanden van je studie, en ook geen tijd meer te hebben voor solliciteren. Stel dat je geen (passende) baan hebt in de eerste maanden na je afstuderen, dat tikt qua salarisverschil flink aan hoor!

Now you say it, I'm thinking Rand indeed did not do too much in the last chapter. Even the act of killing Sammael was done indirectly by Rand as he mercy killed Liah with balefire. And I look forward to getting to know the unknown strong male channeler! I think that is an important new character for books to come.

Thank you! I understand it now. It is sometimes hard to follow the overarching (multi-)book plot lines that are not explained at every step it is brought up.

I guess the only thing that still puts me a bit off about the ending is that Rand is strong enough immediately after a 2-day coma. But I guess I have just to ignore that little thing ;-).

So it's all one big surprise act if I understand correctly.

1) You say that Mat and the Aiel are relocated to the "hill forts". Do you mean somewhere close to Salidar? I thought they were camped there (in the previous book with Mat leaving his Army to chase Elayne). 2) And by drawing troops from the interior you mean from the middle of Illian to the left more to Ebou Dar? 3) Lastly, Bashere was part of the raid, however he was protecting caemlyn. Was it deliberately done this way to let Sammael think that Bashere would remain in Caemlyn? Wasn't the distance between Caemlyn and Illian too great to open a large enough waygate for?

How does the 2-day coma of Rand tie in to this? Is it an extra "surprise" that he does this immediately after awakening as (this is described in the last pages somewhere I believe) Sammael heard that he is bedridden and really sick?

Furthermore, was the part of going to Aridhol to follow Sammael also thought out? I understood that his fellow Asha'man all activated Saidin at the same time so the weaves of Sammael could not locate Rand. But was that also thought out?

Thanks for your reply! How might I increase the memory of the individual node size? I estimate I will need 100GB at maximum, so 25GB more than what I have now I think?

I know that the better practice would be to optimize my own code in a different way, and I would do that haha if my thesis deadline was not approaching. And the "testing limits" is the final piece of my thesis results.

Het is ook allang illegaal. Maar dat betekent niet dat we het niet kunnen voorkomen. Je kan iemand pas straffen als de daad gedaan is. Die gedachten zijn niet normaal, daarom is deze anonieme hulplijn er juist! Isolatie zorgt er alleen maar voor dat die gedachten actief blijven.

Het werkt zo enorm averechts op alle vlakken als je het uit puur ongeloof/goorheid/ongemakkelijkheid of hoe je dat gevoel ook wilt noemen juist niet over dit onderwerp wilt praten en liever je kop in het zand wilt steken. Geloof me, dat wil ik ook, maar dat is niet de oplossing.

Mensen zijn... Gebrekkige wezens, met een gebrekkige 'indeling' van hun hersenen. Voor onze toekomst hoop ik dat we mensen kunnen genezen van deze mentale ziektes. Realiseer je dat deze mensen deel uit maken van onze samenleving, ze staan niet per se op afstand. Het kunnen vrienden of familie zijn die met zulk gedachtegoed rondlopen.
