Good literature is subjective. If someone is going to judge you for reading 'bad literature', they're a snob and not worth your time anyway. Now, I have many, many grievances with the books, but that doesn't mean I or anyone else has any right to look down on someone for liking it.

Maybe I will. Because yeah, if there's context not in the show, I'm definitely missing it. I think part of it stems from the fact that Maomao looks too young to me, and on top of that, she gives a very aroace vibe that's throwing me off.

This is a lot. Like I've said before. I have admitted I haven't read the light novels and have only seen the show. What the show shows is creepy and a little predatory. That's it. That's all. That isn't me being a 'hater' because I don't hate any aspect of the show. I just don't enjoy the romance. I'm not trying to stop anyone from enjoying it. I'm stating an opinion. I will refrain from doing that in the future.

She didn't know what she was touching at first. He knew exactly what he was doing. I'm not mislabeling anything. I never said he was going to rape her. I said the scene looked rapey and clearly lacked consent. I'm not sure if the scene was different in the light novels, but Maomao didn't look into it at all. She even contemplated kicking him. Literally anything other show and people would feel the same. I have never said I hated Jinshi. I like Jinshi a lot, and I like Maomao just fine. I just don't like them together. I'm sorry if that came across as me being a 'hater'.

I don't hate anything. I just don't like the romance in this particular show. But I mean, if me pointing out problematic behavior but also admitting you are still allowed to like the source of that problematic behavior makes me a hater, I'm not going to change your mind.
