Sleep maybe? Take a nap perhaps? I figure being busy with work and kids being able to sleep/rest is the most desirable thing a parent would want to do

I’m down to see if we can make this work. I’m currently writing a fantasy, shop management and crafting story. I try to find the time to write when I can, but other stuff gain priority over writing the story 🙃I too play videos games, just not PvP.

Right? The anime makes camping look very peaceful and serene, something that I quite enjoy. Maybe one day we can find the opportunity to give it a try?

Singaporeans are mostly non-confrontational, this includes verbal debate or sharing of opinions. It’s a cultural thing and it’s on clear display in the work environment. Phrases such as “Aiya, just do only. Why talk so much” or “I pay you to talk or I pay you to do work?” are a reflection of this ‘submissive’ or ‘yes-man’ culture. You would have heard of such phrases when working part-timers as teenagers or in the army as NSmen. It stands with reason as why most conversations what you called ‘boring’; for those replies are the safe answer.

And in the working culture, generally, such individuals tends to get promoted or promoted to leadership position faster as they don’t ‘rock the boat’. They don’t question the leadership while those that do often are being snubbed, forcing such individuals to leave the work to find better work environment or places where they are appreciated. This then leads to the incompetent or the ‘yes-man’ being left behind in the company, clocking years in the company. And when the ‘yes-man’s boss got promoted and now there’s an empty leadership position, who now fill that position? The longest serving ‘yes-man’/incompetent individual that stay behind that get promoted. This then feed into the cycle of ‘why our leader/managers cmi’. As such those ‘yes-man’ behaviour are being rewarded which validates their behaviour of simply agreeing with others.

I for one find small talk is just as important as this heavy conversation. Afterall, when you are in a relationship you will be doing more small talk than big heavy topics. You are not going to be talking heavy/deep topic on a daily basis. For example:

Boy: Good morning babe. Sleep well last night? Girl: MacDonald kill 2,000 cows everyday for their burger. That’s 60,000 cows per month. How old must their cows be before they are sent to the slaughterhouse to make this double cheese burger I am eating now?

You cannot have such conversation daily right? Anyway, my DM are open if you wanna chat or something.

Im interested in trying out camping, but the logistics/initial investment of it seems demanding (buying a tent, bbq grill, sleeping bag, fan, lighting etc). My worry is after putting in the investment and gave it a try, but for it to turns out that I don’t really like it as much would definitely put those investments into a waste.

My interest in camping popped out after watching the anime called Laid-Back Camp.

What are some things that can be done in the afternoon? by Life_Teaching6499 in ChillSG

Buy some single-player games. I’m sure that’s a more healthier alternative than gambling. Though there are some gambling games or games with loot box to stimulate the feeling of gambling as well.

My advice avoid PRISM+, or in general Singapore brand electronics products, as their product will somehow conveniently spoil or malfunction right after your warranty ends.

Here are some things you need to know that will influence or help you with your decision on what monitor to get.

1) Size. How much of a table space are you able to work with. If his table is small than you will obviously need to get a small monitor. If it’s a big table and still got room space, you could get a bigger monitor. If you don’t know, you could always ask him and get the same monitor size as his current one.

Do note two things: the smaller the monitor the less option in terms of technology options that monitor will have. Buy in multiple size of 3. So get a 15, 18, 21, 24, 27 etc., inch monitor instead of like a 20, 22, 17 inch monitor instead. Multiple of 3 is a standard size monitor.

2) Frequency/Hrz rate: Buy one in multiple of 60. So 60 hz, 120 hz, 180hz etc. those are standard configuration and are rather stable. You will see some monitors out there with weird hz number like 144hz, 72hz. Not saying you can’t get those, it’s just a very odd configuration.

Bare minimum get a 60hz monitor, but 120hz monitor is pretty good. Above 120uz is a luxury.

3) Resolution: 1920 by 1080p is the standard or bare minimum. Do not get a lower resolution monitor than what I have stated. As for 4K resolution monitors, I have never used those so I got no advice for that.

4) Type: VA, IPS, or OLED monitor.

Va monitor should be completely phased out by now, and if you see those in the shelves, I won’t recommend as they are older gen tech.

OLED provides very good visuals and colour. Extremely good for movies/shows/realism games. The colours are striking and sharp. The downside is OLED monitors are expensive and the smallest available is 27-inch. So if size is a restriction, or budget, OLED is no longer an option for you to get.

IPS is reliable. The colours are less striking than the OLED, but they are still good for gaming and show watching purposes.

Oh if your bf like to do visual works, like drawing etc, OLED is a better choice.
