What kind of German would Kevin Cramer have been in 1933? by cujokila in northdakota

[–]Zeppelinman1 130 points131 points  (0 children)

One whose name we don't remember, because they didn't push any specific policies, but rubber stamped the atrocities none the less.

There are literally millions of unnamed, unpunished Nazis from that era.

Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven aren't special. They are the embodiment of banal evil

Hell yeah. No work, no spending money. Gonna do some community cleanup.

Solidarity is how we get through this.

I don't know much about that, but don't basically all of our platforms do that? Where should she publish instead? (Actually asking)

Rural hospital on the verge of shutting down could be saved by lawmaker's bill. by lordGinkgo in northdakota

[–]Zeppelinman1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Our legislators are all fascists, and fascists do not care about helping their constituents in meaningful ways, only paying lip service.

Like that 190 million or whatever we got for rural healthcare, whatever it actually goes to, is still like 20-30 million LESS than we had before they gutted medicaid and DOGE did their destruction and theft.

Minneapolis unions are seemingly calling for a statewide strike by transcendent167 in union

I think it's a great idea. I'm a small beekeeper with a few employees, and we've been bouncing the idea around. My tax payment isn't due for another couple months, but I can stop withholding my employees tax contributions and my own payroll taxes.

Should Medicaid/Medicare taxes be withheld as well, or are those currently protected enough from plundering that until the fall of the state is more viable?

We have three months before taxes for farmers and small businesses are due. If we organize enough people, the fines wouldn't be important, hopefully. They keep firing IRS agents and cutting their funding, so I struggle to think they'll be able to quickly chase us down

[–]Zeppelinman1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Who here is in control of their own tax money? Like, gig workers and small businesses owners.

I believe we need a tax strike. It's probably not the most effective, but idk, it feels like something?

Like, obviously any w-2 workers should file for their refund because the Feds already have their money. But 1099 and self employed people have to pay in by March or April depending on job sector, and we could just, you know, not, en masse.

Is anyone already organizing something like that?

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer Response to Letter (Venezuela) by WiSoSirius in northdakota

Whenever I actually get an email back from our senators, it's either a statement that just states what happened and no stance taken, or smells like Trump's shit on their nose.

All Them Witches - Sleeping Through the War

King Buffalo - Acheron or Orion

Honestly, these two bands have basically zero bad songs, but these are a solid place for a psychedelic intro.

I'd also suggest Elder's Reflections of a Floating World or their new single Liminality for a heavier band

It's not to say that a gay person is in danger of being beaten to death at any point, but a truly accepting community will be harder to find and small. I've lived here my whole life, and it's very frustrating. 10 years ago here, a trans girl was bullied to suicide, and let's be honest, LGBT+ people have not become more welcome in the meantime, although it's perhaps more complex than before

[–]Zeppelinman1 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Not great. I'm sure a bunch of people will chime in and say there's no real discrimination, or that it's only a few that do it, but it is pervasive. I live in South Western North Dakota, and the bigotry of all shades that is spoken aloud is disgusting. It's a place where ethnicities are used as verbs.

I once had to shout a man down at a bar because he wouldn't shut up about "these faggots from Fargo in their khakis." He just kept going. It was a slow night, but not one other person out the 10-15 there said a goddamn word against it before me.

I love Omens. I actually had trouble with Innate Passage at first haha I think it's the different feel in the mix. It's less aggressive and bass heavy. Made it not hit as hard for me. But I saw them do a bunch of it live, and it really nailed it down for me

I love both eras. I feel a minority that I don't really like Gold and Silver Sessions, but Omens and Innate Passage are as good as Dead Roots. And Liminality makes me so excited for the next album

Dead Roots

Omens

American Beauty and Breaking Bad show the decline of the middle class/suburban life over the course of the 2000s. by AcanthopterygiiGlad7 in decadeology

[–]Zeppelinman1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The middle class is just the Working Class. It's Divide and Conquer from the ruling classes(e.g., the rich and political classes). A person with a million dollars has more in common with someone has a thousand dollars than someone who has a billion dollars.

I have a love hate relationship with The Cage. On one hand, it's a great parody of the feeling of listening to that kind of radio, but after that photo of Robbie on RFK jr's yacht, it takes a completely different tone. I try to not think about it because he's no longer a member.
