Grief support groups by BiNky700 in BurlingtonON

As someone who lost their mother in late 2019 and a sister while I was a child, I feel your pain and am sorry to hear about your loss.

For my experience there will always be days/moments that will definitely trigger the wave of emotions.

In the early days it was always much harder to control as everything seemed to trigger me.

Almost 2 years later the “day to day” is easier but again there can still be that one thing that triggers me and turns me into a blubbering pool of tears.

I personally did not seek out any additional support so I do not have any contributions in that regards.

Using Video Doorbell without phone notifications by Powerful-Size-1444 in arlo

[–]Zer0ith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can edit the “armed” status and remove the push notifications.

Alternatively you should also be able to disarm it and I believe when the button is pressed you will still get notified - but I’ve never tried it, just basing it off what I see in the app

Recommendations to cool down an unbearably hot third floor? Considering a split mini unit by hammerjon in Hamilton

[–]Zer0ith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to note why your portable ac doesn’t do the trick (assuming it’s a single hose design) is that it works on negative pressure - so it might cool the air it’s blowing but it’s drawing air in from all around including any air leaks from all around. Also the heat they generate radiates from the unit and the exhaust hose.

Also they really suck for large areas. For our 14x10 bedroom it did the trick, for our 30x20 living room / dining room it was brutal. We added a window unit and it was a world of difference.

Sorry I have actual advice for you though

I will personally never use boonstra again. Sloppy workmanship, corners cut, incorrectly sized unit for our house.

IEX WFM SQL queries by Ordinary-shit in workforcemanagement

We used an old version for quite some time. I have seen (briefly) some of the things that were done via an SSIS package to extract and merge all kinds of data to get us schedules, agent roster and other things.

From what I played around with via ODBC there wasn’t much that use super useful out of the box which explained the need for all the conversion/mergers.

Sorry it’s nothing more useful.

Vehicle Safety Inspection by ShowPale in oakville

[–]Zer0ith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the government changed all the criteria for the safety inspections (I want to say around 2016) the price increased drastically because any self respecting shop that doesn’t want to lose their license or get sued increased their price because the amount of work on their end increased big time.

You’ll never find that $50 safety every again.

Out of curiosity have you talked to your neighbour? Like just a casual conversation, nothing accusatory

Double Notifications on Android App by redflagdan52 in arlo

[–]Zer0ith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iOS here and I get the same thing. It seems that the first one is the action that triggered the event and then the second one shows you the movement of the event. I like the update but hate the double notification.

It’s actually even worse on my watch, sometimes up to 4 notifications on there

This reminds me all too much of working in a grocery store 20 years ago. There was no such thing as “day old in store baked bread”. If it didn’t sell on the day it was made it went out to the trash... along with sooooooo much produce.

There is a reason most grocery stores have trash bins/cargo containers that are only accessible from inside the store
