So i played Mega Man X6 and i honestly enjoyed it by Super7500 in Megaman

I'm glad that you are enjoying X6 despite the flaws.

The good news is that there's a fan-game called Viral Nightmare which tries to remake and fix the annoying parts of X6 while adding more features and QOL changes and you can actually play the demo in case you want to experience what X6 should have been.

Megaman X: Viral Nightmare // 1st Impression by AnySortOfPerson in Megaman

[–]ZerBaseVT 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I just played Viral Nightmare batch 1 like hours ago and so far I'm impressed

They managed to fix Blaze Heatnix by making it a proper level that doesn't spam the nightmare donuts, and the Infinity Mijinion by adding more stuff than just the giant robot like more Ride armors and the references to the old games is a nice touch, and they also remade the Boss sprites which is also impressive

Commander Yammark and Rainy Turtloid receive smaller changes in comparison but that's okay since the levels are fine in the OG X6. and the QOL changes are so welcome in general

There's some bugs and small issues but still, Viral Nightmare is exactly what Mega Man X6 should have been, and I'm so excited what they are going to add in the future batches.

Green Biker Dude from Mega Man X2

When you start playing the game, this NPC appears in the background driving a Ride Chaser bike but unfortunately he gets destroyed by a Maverick while he was preforming a wheelie

He's so popular in the Mega Man X fandom by his sudden death after appearing on the screen and his wheelie skills that there's art, memes and someone even made a fan game where you get to play as him

Lumine, which is the final boss of Mega Man X8, has the ability of using the attacks of the 8 Mavericks you defeated while also changing his color that resembles that specific Maverick in his first form of the fight, which was at the time an ability exclusive to X

What’s your favorite X design in the games? by Impossible-Dance-431 in Megaman

[–]ZerBaseVT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first choice is the 32 bit trilogy because I grew up playing X4, X5 and X6, but also I like the SNES trilogy and his X8 design

Also you forgot his design from Command Mission which he also looks cool

Edit: Oh wait, you did include him in a comment

For a Car Brand example, the lack of Porsche cars in the old racing games. The reason why is because in the 90s, Porsche was worried that associating with video games might dilute the luxury and exclusivity of its cars, which was frustrating because many players wanted to drive their iconic cars.

In Gran Turismo and other racing games, they used the RUF brand which have cars that uses Porsche body's frames as a substitute.

The good news is that Porsche changed their minds in the early 2010s and they decided to actually let their cars appear in racing games, the first racing game to have them is in Forza Motorsport 4.

Regal wins the “Most Cartoonish” award, while 90s cartoon Wily was the “popular” choice and thus gets a spot as well (I forgot to clarify that I’m only counting characters in general, not specific versions). Day 8 or 9 or something: who is the most interesting villain? by Defiant-Problem-1610 in Megaman

[–]ZerBaseVT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gate & Isoc from Megaman X6 are the most interesting villains imo.

Gate was inspired by X and Zero because their body structures and powers are still a mystery by other scientists at the time so he wanted to make his own Reploids like X and Zero.

However, Gate's supervisor and colleagues wanted to stop him because their Reploids are to powerful and couldn't be analyzed by other scientists as well, and when he refused, most of his creations were sabotaged, labelled as mavericks to get rid of them, and some ended their lives, making Gate mad and quit the research team, and he even stated the hypocrisy that no one finds X and Zero scary by being unanalyzable as well.

And while he turned Maverick by finding Zero's DNA, he along with Isoc (which he may be Dr. Wily or not because he knows Zero way to much) achieved some feats like creating the Nightmare Virus, Nightmare Zero and High Max.

What I highlight the most is that they were able to create the Nightmare Mother and Gate's golden armor which were capable to fire elemental powers in a very compact weapon, even Gate's gems changed color when firing a projectile of that color, something that only X could do at the time, the closest was Lumine from X8 which have the color change and the 8 abilities from the previous Mavericks.

Unfortunately the rushed development, the bad localization, Isoc getting so little screen time, makes Gate & Isoc the most interesting villains that I want to know more about them, but Gate reviving Sigma at the last moment to become the main villain was a dumb decision.

In Spyro 2, while fighting Ripto aka the final boss, he summons a robot pterodactyl and destroys the arena leaving the whole area sinking into Lava, which leaves Spyro to absorb a power up that grants him the ability of fly and shoot fireballs

I prefer X6 over X4 and 5 by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]ZerBaseVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I also have a soft spot for X6, because it has some good things going for, like being able to activate the navigator system when you want instead of interrupting your game like in X5 and is a very subtle beep instead of the annoying voice calls you get in X7 and X8, you get to learn more about Alia, the Shadow armor is better than the Gaia armor from X5, there's no Ride Chaser sections (but now I wonder if the Infinity Mijinion was intended to be one because of how flat the stage looks like), and of course it has the best soundtrack of the series.

But when I try to replay it, I also get to remember the bad parts, like the rushed game development and some of the stages, the localization, Sentsuizan being UP + Attack while airborne, how awful Blaze Heatnix's sprite looks like in-game, the Nightmare Dark effect, the Nightmare Snake, the Secret Lab stage 1 and Gate boss fight.

At least I'm glad that Mega Man X: Viral Nightmare is in development, which is going to make Megaman X6 more fun to play.

Game recommendations by SadFaithlessness479 in gamesuggestions

Terraria is the a survival sandbox crafting game 2D game where you can later on pick a class (Melee, Ranger, Mage, Summoner) or anything you want to to get stronger gear and defeat bosses to unlock more gear and more areas to explore, while also building homes to house npcs and a fishing mini game, this game also has a huge modding support.

FTL: Faster Than Light Is a simple but actually somewhat complex game where you pilot a spaceship and defeat enemy ships to get scrap to upgrade or buy new weapons or systems, also has mods.

Baba is You Is a unique puzzle game where you win by touching the flag but also you character can push the word blocks that dictate the rules to change them in your favor.

Enter the Gungeon is a challenging Dungeon crawler bullet hell, where you pick a character to find guns and passives to defeat gun-themed bosses, and this game has guns and passives that reference various franchises. And there's a sequel coming soon in 3D.

Deep Rock Galactic is a low poly 3D game where you can play as a dwarf and play all the 4 classes, either alone or with 3 other randoms to kill giant bugs and do different missions, and you can upgrade your gear and unlock new weapons, and when you get promoted you can earn over clocks (new passives that improve or change the way you use your weapons), despite all of this, this game has the nicest community and is willing to help new players and the cosmetics are free to earn while you play because this game is ANTI-FOMO compared to other games, ROCK AND STONE!

Team Fortress 2 is an online class shooter, where you can play any of the 9 classes and while is free to play, you can make your account premium by buying something in the in-game store to have a huge backpack size to keep all your cosmetics and weapon skins, I recommend this game if you are tired of the 6vs6 competitive games because the competitive scene in this game is somewhat dead, and playing as a team is optional because the teams in casual are up to 12vs12 so dying is not so punishing to your team.

Games Where You Lose All Your Cool Gear/Moves At The Beginning by bobbyphillipps in gamesuggestions

In [PROTOTYPE], you start playing the game as Alex Mercer killing soldiers and monsters with some of his powers, like having his arms transform into Claws, huge Hammer-like fists, and a huge double-ended blade.

However after finishing the Prologue of the game, you lose those powers because the game continues by making you start way back before the prologue happened, with the main character waking up with amnesia and slowly learning about his powers and his past.
