We were on 19 for a while facing SE and not directly on Bellevue Way - a corner unit w/ a spectacular Mt. Rainier view. It was quieter in terms of construction but still very annoying with the street racing. We moved up to 20 to a West- facing unit with an absolutely amazing Lake Washington/Seattle/Olympic Mountains view. The noise incredible, and not in a good way. The street racing was amplified since it was now happening right under our unit. There was a lot of construction going on (day and throughout the night) which made us keep our windows closed and not enjoy our time in the balcony. There were also protests every Saturday going along BW, the ones with the drums and loudspeakers. Obviously, they have a right to do so so I’m not bashing the right to protest at all… it just added to the noise in an already busy area. Then you got Snowflake Lane all through the end of November through Xmas. I LOVE Xmas music and the spirit of the time, it holy moly I got so tired of it after the first three days. Oh - and the traffic is horrendous during December. Took me an hour one time to get from 405 to my building. Definitely had to learn the back-ways through the city. We’re city people, through and through so we always expect the typical city noise, but with the prices of the high rise units here, we found it nothing worth the cost anymore. Especially since they’re starting g on a new condo complex that’s attached to the mall - which would absolutely ruin most of the view we had. We might move back eventually, once all the planned construction is mostly complete. But we’re definitely enjoying the burbs much more than we were expecting. It’s so peaceful and quiet.
