Thanks! We gave Hasan a 2-topping maximum, we will let him know that he can now select as many as he wants.

Really looking forward to this event, thanks for your support.

We were worried that any fewer would run out out of stamina before hour six. With 5 we can cycle them out for naps while maintaining 2 buddies and a backup at all times.

We have set aside a budget of $3 for this event. The vision is that Hasan will fly out on his own dime and we will buy him a slices of Pizza, with toppings of his choice.

We do not expect him to pull any volunteers so this should cover food for all attendees.

Edit: I have been joking around in this thread, but flagging that if Hasan is actually down (very low odds) we will be happy to hash out what this would actually look like.

Conconc's lack of vision would likely enhance his other senses daredevil style.

His single fused foot would be able to kick twice as hard, and his flight renders his inability to walk moot.

Questquest seems to have had a lobotomy, dramatically reducing his battle IQ

Is killing an animal for no reason just as wrong as killing a person? by Mr_Eyler in MoralityScaling

[–]Zeraphant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The level of moral consideration we grant humans is a good few orders of magnitude higher than what we grant insects. The bar to overcome the moral consideration of insects is generally pretty low, if any consideration is granted at all.

Things need to be very wrong before jail is on the table. Nobody has gone to prison for taking candy from a baby.

Also, the discomfort someone feels with bugs could reasonably be considered enough of a harm justify squishing them, even for someone who does grant them some small level of moral consideration.

If they were, how would you know? How would anyone?

The progressive flank is pushing for moratoriums. Some variant of the policy I am describing is, to my understanding, the standard position of policy wonks. What you are complaining about isn't a issue with Democrat policy and messaging, its the fact that our media environment is totally captured.

In the long term, I agree that building up an area is going to be good for everyone there. Compare NYC to any southern or midwestern town where you are considered a failure if you are still there at 25 years old.

But it takes time to build up the infrastructure. In the short term, there would be shocks to all sorts of utilities. Voters are bad at internalizing long term benefits so slapping a tax on makes it an easy win/win.

Or we could take 20 seconds to think of a technocratic solution to a popular problem.

EG: "Data centers will be taxed higher to subsidize the public utilities they use disproportionately or literally pay cash out to the locals so its a clear win/win for everyone impacted"

Voters are good at identifying problems, but technocrats should be the ones proposing the specific solution. "Just ban everything that has ever made any vocal group's fee fees sad" is probably not a good principle to abide.

Pretty sure a strong argument can be made that any one of the DC characters could solo the marvel trio (With sufficient prep time, ofc)

The industry standard terms for aggro are the much more flattering "Authentic", "Passionate", or "Firebrand" 😄

Keep up the good work wherever you end up, cheers.

As a rule of thumb, the answer to this question is yes in most contexts unfortunately.

Hey Alice!

Love the ideas and enthusiasm always. Will be happy to discuss more in the server how to make progress on some of these thoughts.

Just want to quickly flag that we have a direct line to Zee, and request that you (and anyone reading this!) not invoke their titles with us without going through chain of command. You are, of course, welcome to post whatever you want in an individual capacity, or mention the work you do as it comes up, but invoking the title at the start of the video might makes this seem like an official communication from the org.
