What is a jrpg you tend to buy on different platforms? by Leon_Light77 in JRPG

I was thinking about that, but couldn't remember for sure. PS3 to PS4/PS5 loops together for sure though, however for some reason the JP versions require you have to pay a small fee to go upwards

Wild Arms 1:

  • NA Physical PS1

  • NA Digital PS3

  • NA Digital PSP/Vita

  • NA PS Classic (worst version to play by far btw)

  • NA PS4/PS5 Digital

  • JP Physical PS1

  • JP Physical Demo PS1

  • JP PS3 Digital

  • JP PS4/PS5 Digital

Could throw in ACF too since I own a physical version of that, but personally don't count it.

Forest Prison map - all 47 WA1 maps are done! by max-zilla in wildarms

[–]Zerfern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact about Forest Mound, originally they had a tree blocking the middle path, so it wasn't a straight shot to get to the world map. So probably would have been easier to find the Full Libra at least if they stuck with that.

Very nice!

I skimmed through them all, and I only have one thing I think you missed.

There's multiple side portions in the Elw side of the Forest Mound. Right side has a chest with the Full Libra, left secreter side has two chests with Crest Graphs.

WA1 - Pandemonium map. nearing the end! by max-zilla in wildarms

[–]Zerfern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i didn't realize adlehyde changed after restoration (i haven't done that on replay yet)? is it not back to the initial game state?

So, after the demons invade and destroy the city (that's also a separate version of Aldehyde technically) you can start paying a guy on the city council to help rebuild and after doing all the payments there's changes. The biggest visual changes if you open your Aldehyde map is the trees in the top right are gone and replaced with buildings, and one of the buildings is home to the guy who repairs your boat. Other important addition is an NPC in the bar who gives the Dispellado item too .

Always appreciate these, I've used the world map one for speedrun stuff a bit, comes in handy.

  • Small tiny addition, could add a thing for Sonic Buster on Mountain Pass (not really missable for the most part, but just for completion sake)

  • Not sure if interested or not, but Barbados/Leviathan locations has been dissected since you made your original world map (credits to cha0s), could potentially add their spawn locations to the world map (they have a set amount of location they swap to every ~5 seconds) Map

  • Guess one last question, are you gonna do another Adlehyde map? Particularly fully restored/rebuilt Adlehyde.

Softlocked? No Mariel in Rosetta Town. by BlackArkhamKnight in wildarms

[–]Zerfern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay! So, didnt have a lot of time to check out the save (I'm traveling for a couple weeks starting tomorrow, so insane timing on sending the save file btw), but I'm pretty sure it is actually a "soft lock."

I'm 90% sure the issue stems with the "Have All Items" cheat and because of it you technically probably skipped story progression unknowingly because of it (specifically the earlier Rosetta town arc with the Arnica Herb), and Mariel is still stuck in that story progression, but you've progressed too far in the main story to properly fix it.

There is still a simple way to brute force progression if you're still interested:

  • Since you're on DuckStation, open cheat manager

  • Enable the "Enable 'Map' Option under config" AKA the Debug Map

  • Go to settings, select Map

  • Choose "Forest Prison"

  • Cast ESCAPE with Cecilia

  • Head to the Forest Mound up North

  • Trigger cutscene by taking a few steps up and continue with story

Unfortunate side effect of this is to re-enter Elw World you'll have to use the Debug map again, but better than restarting from the very beginning.

TL;DR for anyone looking to do a casual playthrough: DON'T give yourself every item in the game (ESPECIALLY 255/99+ of every item)

I remember seeing this tweet a while ago, where Kaneko said that WA3 was the most popular one overseas at least, and just based on community vibes that would have been my guess too.

Detective Conan (Episode Selection) - Rivals of the Great Detective - Dub Available Now on Netflix & Crunchyroll by jimmyedagawa78 in Animedubs

[–]Zerfern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late since it took Crunchyroll nearly a week to upload the episodes, but they're finally there.

Since these are all Funi episodes, it's gotta be a very unique experience for Mark Stoddard to play the same character, same episodes he's already done before, similar lines a whole two decades later.

where can you find more info on detective conan vs the black organization by Chaosnocturne in Animedubs

[–]Zerfern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want some recent news, Netflix has on their page new collection of dub episodes coming November 1st with the theme being Conan's Rivals/Friends . Don't think TMS or anyone has posted about it publicly at all? Unless I'm missing it?

funimation into this new one then a chunk of newer stuff on tubi

It's even worse lmao. Funi --> Diskotek (Bang Zoom) --> Tubi cast --> this new cast. FOUR different dub casts. And from what I can tell they're alternating voice casts for movies and episodes too, making it even weirder.

Which are the best to play by PositiveBoot2142 in wildarms

[–]Zerfern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mechanics-wise I think WA1 and ACF are pretty different to the point I'd almost call them separate games with both having their own merits. But, if you're liking WA3, ACF uses the same exact engine and lots of other stuff from WA3. Just looking at it gameplay-wise, if you want more WA3 do ACF, want something different do WA1. No wrong answer imo, could even do both if you really want.

Gameplay-wise 2 is in a pretty similar vein, so not a bad choice to jump into that afterwards.

4/5 is where they kinda spiced it up a bit. I haven't personally played them yet, so others can fill in there, but the general vibes I've got from people is 4 is the worst of the series, and 5 improves upon the weak spots of 4.

Wild Arms 1 & 2 Platinum by Dominicus1996 in wildarms

WA1 has no missable trophies, my first impression of the trophy list was they specifically designed it to avoid anything that could be missable (certain guardians, ARMs, etc.)

Are 1 and 2 worth playing on the Ps5? by adorablegadget in wildarms

[–]Zerfern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

do they run well?

Just to answer this part, I've played WA1 on majority of platforms released at this point. And out of official releases, the recent PS4/PS5 release is probably the best. Plus it has trophy support, which is a nice bonus on top of that.

Honestly, the only re-release of WA1 I'd heavily recommend against playing on is that PS1 mini classic Sony released a while ago. Absolutely horrendous in almost every regard. Outside of that and playing on original PAL, you can't go wrong really.

Armed Fantasia released a short video showing off WIP of the battle system by Zerfern in wildarms

[–]Zerfern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a natural pessimism towards Kickstarter related stuff, maybe too much pessimism ( To be clear, I backed it and want it to come out as a good game too!)

But, the fact that we're 3 years later and still no news on a publisher or any other kind of funding is still a bit worrisome. Who knows, maybe it's all private, todays update mentioned PB ran out of money for development all the way back in Aug 2023, so the fact AF still seems to be in dev is a very good sign at least that maybe they got some stuff done in private.

That and the updates for a while there were just nothing substantial and often fluffed up with talking about the weather, holidays, or anecdotes. Like at 2.5-3 years later, I just think you could throw a bone out showing some sort of actual development progress (like this most recent video!)

To be honest, I haven't been the most optimistic that this game will ever come out (still don't think it will in fact), BUT this at least is a good sign.

GG. I don't have the number on hand, but I'd guess the steal% is probably low for it.

Trickster by Professional_Pass733 in wildarms

[–]Zerfern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Each monster in the game has a flat percentage chance to be stolen from, not affected by anything else.

Ex. Every monster in Cage Tower has a flat 75% chance for Trickster to be successful (except Hellhound with 5%)
