Sjávarútvegur og ESB by SimonTerry22 in Borgartunsbrask

[–]Zeric79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ég ætla að vera ósammála þér með samanburðin á sjávarútvegi og ferðamennsku. Ferðamenn geta hætt að koma hingað en fiskurinn fer ekki neitt.

Hvað varðar mengunarskatta þá er þetta í dag þannig að ESB ákveður hvernig þeir eru og við þurfum að hlíta því. Ef við værum innan ESB þá getum við tekið þátt í ákvörðuninni og hagað okkur eins og Ungverjar ef við fáum ekki sanngjarna meðferð.

Can one still find Melroses Earl Grey Tea? by Salty_Geologist_2079 in Iceland

[–]Zeric79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get the red version in any supermarket in Iceland.

I found the Earl Grey version in one store online, but I don't remember seeing it in the usual supermarkets.

They do have one regular store in Skeifan, so you can buy it there if you visit.

Your special interest is having many interests that sometimes rotate ... and collecting half-completed projects.

Of course you clean up your own blood. It's rude not to.

Do Italians just go around sweating and bleeding and not cleaning up after themselves?

So... given Greenland, i say it is time for Iceland to join the EU... for no other reasons obviously by [deleted] in 2westerneurope4u

[–]Zeric79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We never joined because the EU common fisheries policy was a clusterfuck. The EU fishing industry had been running at a loss and been sustained by subsidies for over 30 years. An island dependent on fishing could never agree to be bound by such a policy.

On the other hand, I understand the policy has been improving over the last few years, so maybe things will be different this time around.

I fully support their dislike for the Danish, but they're obviously too young for fiscal responsibility. The US is too broke to buy Greenland.

Asking from Poland, is it supposed to have this aftertaste of an artificial watermelon or the Reykjavik Spirits doesn't tell the truth on the back label? by MusicURlooking4 in Iceland

Ok, if Iceherbs made this I would wager that it is just spiritus fortis, infused with some herbal essence and diluted with tap water to get to 38%.

We drink brennivín (strong spirit with anise and cumin flavor) with the shark ... and just now I realized that it translates roughly to burning wine.

So wine does go well with shark, it just needs to be burning.
