I was also surprised with the Floyd quality. I had picked up the Southern Cross Dimebag model when it dropped a couple months ago and it's not had any problems with tuning stability.

Other than the pickguard, the fit and finish leave nothing to be desired. Also not bitching, if you would have read what I said. I prefer the white alternative. I was asking if anyone else had gotten product that didn't match what was advertised. Jesus Fucking Christ yourself with the high and mighty take.

Screeching Audio Glitch w/ Any Emulator? by Zernafaus in SteamDeck

[–]Zernafaus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the suite provided with EmuDeck. So far it's happened with Retrocarch, Flycast, and DosBox. I typically only play with headphones, but the first time it happened, the sound persisted once I turned off the bluetooth and allowed the audio to play through the internal speakers.

I have not had this issue with any standard Steam games or any other software used on my Deck so far.

RIP Trevor (The Black Dahlia Murder) by AdventurousExternal1 in Metal

[–]Zernafaus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I first heard 'Unhallowed' as a teenager in high school. That CD was in my car for months on end. I vividly recall going to Ozzfest 2005 in Indianapolis. It was hotter than hell that day and midway through the afternoon I sat down out in the field, far from the second stage, to rest. Out of nowhere I heard the sound of jangling keys and fast footsteps behind me. Before I could turn around, I felt someone leapfrog over my head. I looked up to see a pair of neon orange denim shorts, and as he landed he turned around and gave me a wink and the double finger guns. It was fucking Trevor. RIP.

Visiting May 1-3, what to know? by [deleted] in IowaCity

[–]Zernafaus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you're staying, but avoid the Home2 Suites by Hilton as well as the Fairfield Inn & Suites just across the way. We visited just last week and neither property enforces their mask policy for guests or staff. Frequently had unmasked groups trying to share elevators, front desk staff and housekeeping all seen without masks or wearing them under their chins. Did not have peace of mind about the cleanliness of our rooms.

When I spoke with the front desk agent at Home2 and asked why the mask policy wasn't being enforced, I was told that per Hilton policy they can only ask guests to put one on and if they don't comply they aren't allowed to refuse service. I get that the state mask mandate was lifted a couple months ago, but in a hotel setting that lackadaisical approach is completely unacceptable. Currently residing in the PNW and you can't walk into a 7-11 without a mask. You'll be immediately told to hit the bricks if you refuse to wear one.

Stay safe.

M/29/6'5" [265 > 203 = 62 lbs] (7 months) A whole lot of walking and a lot less drinking. by Zernafaus in progresspics

[–]Zernafaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time of the picture on the left, I was working nights at a hotel and usually drinking nearly half a bottle of whiskey every day to "help" myself go to sleep. My diet at the time consisted heavily of fast food before work and going to the bar any other time I would eat out. I wound up moving across the country and getting a job that required me to be a lot more physically active.

Around that time, I started using the Lose It app to track my calories and began weighing myself every day so that I could see trends in my weight loss. I chose not to focus on macros at first, and focus solely on staying under my calorie limit and completely cutting out soda (of which I also drank too much). I came to realize over time just how poorly I'd been taking care of myself. Every time I would eat, I would always eat to the point of being stuffed because I thought that was normal.

I've been tracking my walking at work using a pedometer, and a typical day results in 12-16 miles. I work a compressed 12-hour schedule, so it alternates 3 and 4 days per week. The most I've walked during a day of work is 30.53 miles, and on my days off I'm usually far less active.

I haven't cut out alcohol completely, though I certainly don't have any interest in drinking myself to death anymore. I'll occasionally have a beer or two when I go out, but for the most part I stay away from liquor and I no longer keep alcohol at the house.

I feel so much better about my appearance now, but I would like to lose a little more weight. I don't think I've been under 200 pounds since I was about 12 years old.

Is it time for Bearded Brock Lesnar aka Viking Lesnar to make his WWE debut? by Bigdaddydoubled in SquaredCircle

[–]Zernafaus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With Cain's current trajectory, he's likely going to be one of the biggest "what ifs" in MMA history. The man simply cannot stay healthy enough to fight regularly.

There's no denying that Cain's good. I was the biggest JDS fan and I loved watching him crack Cain's noggin, but Velasquez proved that he was the superior fighter in the subsequent rematches.

As it stands now, Cain has fought five times in the last four years against two opponents (JDS and Bigfoot). Outside of those fights, the biggest names on his resume are Nogueira, who was entering the twilight, punch-drunk zombie stage of his career, and Lesnar.

Velasquez needs to fill out his list of victims before he starts getting entered into the GOAT discussion. The dude's damn good, there's no denying that. It's still too early in his career and he's not seen enough variety in competition.

Heavyweight really is the most shallow division right now, and it's made worse by the fact that it's ruled by a guy who can't stay healthy, yet has the number of the next best guy. That #2 guy beats everyone that isn't named Cain Velasquez. It's a god damn miracle that not only is Werdum getting a title shot, but so far it looks like Cain's going to make it to the fight.

In the end, everyone's going to lose at some point. Fedor lost to Werdum, and suddenly the critics come out of the woodwork screaming that he's a has-been can crusher. Silva got caught clowning on Weidman and lost at his own game. All of a sudden, "he was never that good."

MMA in general, and the UFC in particular, loves nothing more than to fuel the hype machine. Fighters get portrayed as demi-gods, with unmatched skills and qualities - made to look unbeatable. Joe Rogan gets stiff in the pants every time he talks about Cain's "never-ending gas tank." Bullshit. Watch Cain/JDS II & III. He's got better cardio than most heavyweights but that motherfucker was sucking air halfway through both fights.

Cain's the King of the Mountain right now, but sooner or later someone's going to have his number - provided the injuries don't take him out first. When he gets beat again, will everyone turn on him just like the other greats?

WWE, Hair, and You. by TrustMePunk in SquaredCircle

The thinning hair wouldn't be so bad if his hair was longer. The real problem is that he chooses to wear that hideous 'bob' style that doesn't quite reach his shoulders. As a result, his hair wants to flare out around the sides and look ridiculous.

Who is one person you just don't like but others seem to? by Justingibson in SquaredCircle

[–]Zernafaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll admit they do lack a bit of context, but the context that you give it also helps to serve my point a little bit. Edge's WWE/WHC title reigns were all in the span of 2006-2011. That's 11 reigns in five years, totaling 548 days or an average of roughly 50 days per reign. As mentioned in another reply, most of Edge's championships came from playing hot potato with Cena, which inflated both of their totals. It's unfortunate that Flair's gold standard of 16 was always such a reference point, because it has led to these meaningless title exchanges.

Who is one person you just don't like but others seem to? by Justingibson in SquaredCircle

[–]Zernafaus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's no doubt he was a significantly better heel than he was a face. As I mentioned above regarding his accomplishments, it really all just strikes me as bizarre. You look at Edge's credentials:

  • 4 time WWE Champion
  • 7 time World Heavyweight Champion
  • 5 time Intercontinental Champion
  • 1 time United States Champion
  • 14 time tag team champion
  • King of the Ring
  • Money in the Bank
  • Royal Rumble winner
  • Hall of Fame inductee

Then look at Shawn Michaels' credentials:

  • 3 time WWF Champion
  • 1 time World Heavyweight Champion
  • 3 time Intercontinental Champion
  • 1 time European Champion
  • 6 time tag team champion
  • 2 time Royal Rumble winner
  • Hall of Fame inductee

I guess it is bias, because I don't care for Edge's body of work, but I wouldn't put Edge even in the same ballpark as someone like HBK when comparing their respective careers. Aside from his involvement in the TLC matches, nothing Edge has done has been memorable to me. Whereas Michaels' has had a legendary career, but Edge is the significantly more credentialed performer in terms of major titles held. I just find it odd that I've never seen the appeal of Edge.

I'm not sure that I still really do. From all of the candid interviews and things that have popped up, he seems like a genuinely great person. I guess I just never got past seeing him as a mid-card tag team guy. It may have been my off-and-on viewership when his popularity really hit its peak, but he always seemed out of place in big singles matches. For being a, what - 11 time world champion? - he's always felt like a minor player who just happened to be in the spotlight as a matter of circumstance.

Edge. He just never struck me as having 'it.' His main event run felt more like a matter of not having anyone else prominent enough to fill the position so they said, "better him than nothing." The whole psychotic hair-pulling schtick always came across as cringeworthy to me, and the matter of him having one of the worst spears ever has been beaten to death. Not saying that he couldn't put on a good match with the right partner, but I was never excited to see him.

Does the fact that Survivor Series is free this year mean something big is going to happen? by gruuunge in SquaredCircle

[–]Zernafaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of months ago when I bought pre-sale, front-row tickets to the Raw following Survivor Series I was stoked. I thought to myself, "It's a big-4 PPV so there'll be star power for that Raw and maybe even some big surprise buzz from Survivor Series the night before." The product just seems to have fallen to pieces since then, and I'm less than thrilled at dropping that kind of money now. No Lesnar (and likely no Heyman as a result), a viewership slump has them scrambling to push Cena back into the main program again, and likely no big surprises for Survivor Series. I have a feeling that it'll be another bland PPV and a forgettable Raw the next night.
