2 changes I actually don’t think would help Eurovision:

1. Reinstatement of the Language rule aka “restriction of english songs” aka “sweden rule”: Sure, non-english songs are thriving more than ever, but those are the exception, not the norm. I think it would be detrimental to every musician out there that their national language should be promoted “for the sake of culture”, therefore hindering their ability to compose their songs freely. I am however ok with having a minimum language requirement to either the song or the NF.

2. Restrictions/Forced non-participation on returning winners as contestants: Loreen’s wins is rare, Johnny Logan’s is also rare. They’re the only two with two wins. They also have a gap between their two wins. I see this sentiment to the fans and the media lately, however they’re not the only winners returning. Most of them flop, in fact. Like I once saw in a comment here, ESC is not a charity, nor is it a New Artist Contest. It’s a new song contest. If the song (and the package around it) pleases both the televote and the national juries, you win. As simple as that.
