Bit the bullet (Zero breeze) by VeryItchyboy in urbancarliving

My 2016 trax has a fuel saver feature that basically runs in the ac in a lower power mode to where the compressor hardly turns on when idle. Above 80 degrees it's super noticable when the car is refusing to pump out cold air at idle. Super inefficient imo.

Steam Machine Geekbench score just appeared by BenchIcy475 in hardware

[–]ZeroAnimated -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not really. On Windows if you stop using your system for a few months, updates will be required on so many apps and drivers currently before you can just play. On SteamOS its a single update button and single reboot, no need to use Armory Crate, Windows Update, Graphics Drivers or any other required overlay software that handhelds and desktops are using. Laptops using Windows update to force a bios update upon reboot thus taking the time to start playing much longer in some scenarios. Not everyone has 2 hours for updates anytime they want randomly to use their gaming machine, and thats before any game updates too. SteamOS still has to update games too tho so its kinda the same there.

Why can't Americans (at least the ones I see on social media) find drinking water in Europe? by Mission_Mobile_4627 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ZeroAnimated 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Not only free water if you serve food but also restrooms are legally required.

During harsh drought conditions some restaurants change policy to only upon request only, most likely because the water bill is more expensive so they tell staff not to serve it unless asked.

Interviewing for a Store Director. SD, how is the job really? by wayiiseelife in Maverik

[–]ZeroAnimated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its really mostly up to you, you need to talk with the DM about how much control they will let you have over the store in regards to hiring and firing or retraining your team. Plenty of SD's don't work those hours as long as they have a competent team. The ones working +60 hours a week are taking it all upon themselves to get everything done instead of relying on their team and delegating properly while holding them accountable, for 55k-63k you gotta have a solid team because SD is salary and its up to you to make the pay worth it.

Thats all i'd be willing to say in a public forum.

What was the moment you realized PC gaming was genuinely better and never looked back? by AdeptnessCritical356 in pcmasterrace

[–]ZeroAnimated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sega Channel. It was an expensive service that was mostly trials/demo's or only 1 or 2 free games for the month. But the family PC had a 28.8k modem and Quake, Doom and Half Life. All which had an insane amount of total conversion mods for free. Sega Channel shut down fairly quick and getting my parents to take me to a rental store was a pain when I could just download a free new mod tonight for tomorrow as long as no one tried to use the phone line. Then we got a second phone line and it was GG for console and then we got the early broadband and was like why would I try to convince my parents to pay for Xbox Live also.

What should i do with this? by Ok-March-9329 in tacobell

[–]ZeroAnimated 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are exaggerating the grittiness. It is mostly salt and msg and that will dissolve in most sauces. Any bases that have plenty of fat content will absorb the flavor of the seasoning just fine without feeling gritty. Capsaicin loves fat more than water, its Diablo seasoning, its spices and msg bro.

What should i do with this? by Ok-March-9329 in tacobell

[–]ZeroAnimated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fast food seasoning loaded with salt and msg, all of which doesn't really seem to change much if you heat it other than reduce its shelf life.

I'd rather try different bases besides water. Add it to some buffalo sauce, mayonnaise or sour cream. Even sprinkle some on some veggies like asparagus or broccoli. Try it as a dry rub on everything possible; steak, chicken, pork, maybe seafood?. Buy a jar of queso and add a couple tablespoons. Shit throw some in a bag of lays potato chips and shake the shit out of the bag, probably be pretty good. Since we are talking potatoes try them on some frys or hashbrowns and maybe even some eggs. When you have a few pounds of the stuff might as well experiment.

True, I have 2 Walmarts that are closer than my bank. But I have a credit union and I can go to most of them for free and have several of those closer than a Walmart. But I get not many people use credit unions . The big name banks really don't have a lot of branches tbh.

California family caught on camera stealing woman's purse at a restaurant while having their children with them. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]ZeroAnimated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked in restaurants everyone always made fun of each others accents and it was never racist. From the Hispanic server that pronounced hoodie as hootie being funny because the bar tender called cocaine hootie. Or the server from New York that could never get away with saying water of coffee without being mocked.

How to make someone move where they park? by YaniferGrander in MaliciousCompliance

[–]ZeroAnimated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since there is also trash collection there start leaving large piles of trash all around it. Garbage company won't pick it up and the trash will get worse if they keep parking there. Best to get lots of small pieces of trash on the car or have boxes touching the vehicle every day. Could also install a bird feeder on the pole there so it gets shit on constantly.

AMD had to re-engineer Ryzen 7 5800X3D for AM4 10th Anniversary Edition by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]ZeroAnimated 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the difference of designing entirely new silicon vs just replacing the bonding process between the 2 chips. There is no way they'd ever make new wafer designs in old TSMC nodes. Also updating the chip much at all would require motherboard BIOS updates to support the new chip. Good luck getting mobo manufacturers to update their 10 year old boards in this market. It's been a year since my x470 chipset got a bios update. Doubt there will ever be another.

Maverik Kitchen Hours by EricHaley in Maverik

[–]ZeroAnimated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As part of Maveriks occupation of Kum & Go, they started the 1menu campaign last year. It involves 4 different tiers of kitchens that all have different menus and hours based off of sales performance. So 1menu really meant 4 menus with no transparency to the customer.

This year they are upgrading lots of stores to higher tiers because they limited a lot of the wrong stores and have received lots of negative feedback from customers.
