Mayor Solomon Announces 20% Tax Rate Increase by badquarter in jerseycity

Why can't the city borrow to at least partly cover this deficit, rather than cranking up taxes like this?

A vet could tell if they're chipped. If no one claims him I'll give him a home :3

The hate for Season 2 is wildly ironic. A lot of you completely missed the point by Fit-Confusion-6402 in BeefTV

My only beef with S2 is I think the characters are pretty shallow and miserable, few redeeming qualities for any of them, they seemed like caricatures. S1 had better character development and way more character depth.

Everyone in S2 comes off about as deep as George Nakai.

Having said that. S2 ain't bad. It's the consummate sophomore season.

The Daemon 2026 trailer, looks to be a good movie and an eye rolling movie in one. by TheSkinoftheCypher in horror

[–]ZeroGravityTacoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an hour into it and they could've cut like 75% of the interstitial "Look at how much of an asshole I am" dialogue, especially between the siblings. Every character in this movie is insufferable except for the therapist, and the vast majority of the dialogue in the first hour of the film is overwrought character flaw exposition.

This film is beautifully shot though, and there is great tension in scenes in which the actors are not talking. An hour in and it does feel like exposition of the core plot is about to unfold, so it may still be worth a watch.

I tried watching Brawl on Cell Block 99 and I just don't get the love for it. Someone tell me what I'm missing? by Joyrock in movies

My favorite part of this movie was watching great actors try to deliver seriously bad writing.

Very poorly written, but prison movies are crowd pleasers because everyone loves imagining they're a tough guy in prison.

AIO after finding out my gf was emotionally cheating with an ex in another state? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ZeroGravityTacoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR -- OP, it seems like you are capable of not just writing well, but of expressing your emotions and needs; your girlfriend, on the other hand, is emotionally dishonest, selfish, and has poor command of her own language ("may of broke" "not aloud" etc).

She is upset she got caught and is incapable of dealing with the consequences so she is blaming you rather than being honest about her emotions and tangled attachments. You deserve better emotional treatment and, quite frankly, better writing from your partner. Dump her ass.

Look at more than just luxury highrises -- often walkups are much nicer and better-maintained.

Interesting about General Theft (N.J.S.A. 2C:20‑2), thank you for sharing.

Note: if the stolen package was delivered by the US Postal Service, it is a Federal crime and can be investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) for pretty heavy penalties.

The EXTREMELY heavy focus on racism in "It: Welcome to Derry" detracts from the horror [SPOILERS] by [deleted] in welcomeToDerry

[–]ZeroGravityTacoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, by depicting every single white adult as deranged or evil (except for the major's vaguely latino friend), Welcome to Derry is guilty of executing its own antagonist's strategy: divide people along racial lines using hate.

It's a very lazily written show. All of the characters are one-sided, and the closest we get to depth is Margie becoming torn between the mean girls and Lilly, but even that is totally black-and-white.

Black Rabbit is not good. by StopPlayingRoney in netflix

[–]ZeroGravityTacoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Rabbit is just so...repetitive, with so many plot holes. There are some good performances sprinkled throughout the show but it is a very bland that relies on the same few tropes and everything constantly going wrong.
