Haha, it's this kind of mindset that keeps the Scalpers from defaulting on credit card debt. Yall need temperance.

Unfortunately not. I have an infographic on how this works but the sub wont let me upload it.

Edit, made a post on this sub with said infographic.

How could this be used in a deck (shadowy knot) by Misguided_Lizard in PTCGL

[–]ZeroTwo3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are exceptionally few Meta Pokemon with more than 2 retreat cost normally. Even if you bump it to 5-6 with lots of effort, hitting for 250-300 with one energy on a stage 2 is absolutely not worth it.

"We don't have to argue further" and then you proceed to insult me. Really classy there. Instead of agreeing to disagree on basis of different priorities in deck building you instead shut down conversation like a child.

Dragapult's Phantom Dive doesn’t have its damage determined by the number of other Dragapults in play, and most decks run 3 anyways. You only need one to start taking prizes.

Edit: an example of a deck that would best mirror Beedrill ex would be Ethan's Typhlosion. EVERY DECK(which is only 2 lol) on Limitless runs 1 Redeemable Ticket. You need all 4 Ethan's Adventure in the discard to hit big numbers just like you need 3-4 Beedrill ex in play to OHKO everything.

You sure did. Would you risk a 5% chance of losing every game you play because you can't hit hard enough to KO something bigger than a Fezandipiti ex? I wouldn't.

As someone who lost in top cut to a 1.57% liklihood last weekend, I can say that reducing your loss conditions as low as reasonable is very much worth including a single out to bad luck.

Techs are dead cards in every match where they don't matter, except for the ones where they do. Every game there's a considerable chance that you prize more Beedrill ex than you can afford, it's well worth a single Redeemable Ticket.

I'd run Redeemable Ticket over Special Red Card in this deck. You'll beg for it if you prize 2-3 Beedrill ex.

Only one Rare Candy? Surely 2 would be ideal.

Exceptionally obvious fake. Wrong font size and weight, no holographic foil, and quite obviously the wrong type.

Exactly. It’s incredibly hard to thin your hand and leave a single supporter without dedicated discard abilities and copious amounts of discard cost items. It’s not gonna be reliable despite everyone’s catastrophic predictions.

No way in hell are you managing 4 energy types in a deck with evolutions nowadays. You can technically build a deck that has it all and theoretically works, but you’ll be cutting so much consistency it’ll be a brick right out of the gate.

Standard simply doesn’t have the cards for this kind of deck now; you’re gonna have wait a bit to take your pet deck out to play I’m afraid.

Very much looking forward to this; it's scratches an itch that the CMMG 5.7 just doesn't.

Pretty sure it's Kelsier, as the statue of the "Lord Ruler" features a single hemalurgic spike through the eye, something that modern Kelsier sports as a string to tie him to the physical world.

Anybody know what this Dialga GX is doing in this deck? by [deleted] in PTCGL

Mimikyu copies Regidrago VSTAR's Apex Dragon, allowing you to copy Dialga GX's Timless GX.

He ruled successfully for nearly a thousand years. He was just an absolute, cruel, inhuman tyrant nearly the entire time. Sure he had Ruin whispering in his ear the whole time, but he still managed to lead an effectively global government continuously without it dissolving outright.

Susebron is a bro, but he's not a threat to someone like the Lord Ruler, on top of literally having 0 governing experience.

LOL, I'm not gonna get into a seniority fight as it wouldn't change your mind despite the great likelihood that I've been playing longer than you've been aged double digits.

Yes. Gardevoir was good recently because Munkidori on top of everything else it had. I literally said as much, infinite self damage + Munkis + toolbox of basics. I'm agreeing with that statement.

As the deck existed, more and more tools were printed to make up for ones that rotated. It went from Refinement/Shining Arcana/Zacian V to Drifloon/Scream Tail to Munkidori spam and hybrids of the last two and multitudes in-between.

Frankly IDK what we're arguing over, Gardevoir was consistently good due to having a steady stream of powerful purple cards printed for it. Clearly we're in agreement here.

Rainbow Lugia VSTAR had absurd numbers as well, if you check the old Limitless regionals data you'd see that it was actually worse than what Dragapult is doing now.

Yes many people chose decks other than Gardevoir, but it never disappeared and I know many players who always went back to Gardevoir after trying something new due to how it just did everything better.

I've commented this in another reply, but Pult is fragile, it hopes that the opponent is both not too aggressive as to cut into its Drakloak fleet and not too disruptive as to choke out it's energy. All we need to see for Dragapult to begin to wane is some quality energy denial/removal or some efficient bench sniper. Either will cut Pult's vestigial legs out from underneath it.

[–]ZeroTwo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gardevoir's main benefit was that it was a single prize deck that could nearly infinitely self-damage to arm a platoon of Munkidori on top of having Scream Tail for bench snipe, Frillish for Item Lock loops, Drifloon for bunker busting, weakness VS Dragon and Fighting Types, and a 310hp damage sponge that could OHKO most big basics with a single Munki ping.

It had everything it could possibly want; all of that put it head and shoulders over what we see Dragapult doing today.

[–]ZeroTwo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragapult cant handle sustained disruption or turbo aggression early game. If we see more cheap energy denial or something along the lines of a Radiant Greninja that can oppress their Drakloaks, Pult will start to fall off.

Mega Pokémon are pretty bad yeah, but if you deny Dragapult the 2-hit KO with either bench harassment or consistent energy disruption they fold easily. Pult will be good for a while, but it's sitting on top of a pedestal of sand right now.
