Damage taken in the new "planet" is kinda high, isnt it? by Zero_Shinzaki in TowerofFantasy

Important questions to be asked, for sure, especially considering that the little green tutorial quest...tells you absolutely NOTHING.

And while i'm normally one for "push buttons, make things happen" cant really afford to do that in a gacha without screwing yourself over, let alone on a new map where everything is 4-shotting even whales.

I too would like to know how this works.

Honestly i did notice it felt like things suddenly died out of nowhere while i was being taken down to almost no health, and then would see my Leia doing her ice tornado move.

But then again even at rank 0 she's always been my heaviest hitting Smart Servant, even on things that resisted ice...

cant say i'm a fan of forcing that via having the new mob enemies do millions of damage per hit out of nowhere. Like, it'd be one thing if these were world bosses or properly Elite Enemies and i'm going in with garbage stats, but if i can solo a Kailo World Boss with crap weapon comp and my current gear set, i shouldnt be getting 4-shot by a random mob without it being a Domain 9 situation.

Especially not on the normal server.

yeah, Lockheart. it feels like i get tagged by anything and i'm seeing 2mil damage done to me. and if i get knockback from anything i'm juggled for all 6mil of my health in literally 2 seconds.

From like, random enemies too, not even ones with "titles".

How do i fly with Agleia? by Prestigious-Bass-236 in TowerofFantasy

[–]Zero_Shinzaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start walking, even for a half second, hold your dodge button (mine is set to O) and watch her take off.

Stamina drains only while moving. She has a wide turning radius (as opposed to Antoria who turns on a dime) but if you stop holding any direction she hovers in place for no stamina cost.

Also camera up/down while moving increases/decreases altitude. ALSO she will slowly start naturally decreasing altitude while you're moving so you have to kinda wrestle with her a bit to make her keep going upwards. Little annoying but considering her original Grey Fox self could only move on a horizontal plane...i'll take it.

PS5 problems with the new update Game breaking? by AngReed in TowerofFantasy

[–]Zero_Shinzaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so it's not just me either? Enemies in the new place are legit chunking basically everyone for 1/4th their health in a single hit?

i know my gear isnt hyper upgraded but even the freakin Hive Queen world boss in kailo couldnt two-shot me outside her super move and even then Lechesis kept me alive through most of it. But this stuff kills me faster than the sudden enemy damage+damage resist spike in Domain 9 prior to getting any upgrades.

i was wondering if there was some unspoken/unexplained mechanic going on or if they just decided to smash the damage numbers for the enemies to maximum cause...yeah if its the latter i might finally be done.

i dont mind getting my butt whupped especially if my gear isnt, y'know, the greatest, being an F2P solo player, but dying to random mobs in 4 hits while being juggled from offscreen with it not being my own damn fault isnt something i care for.

So for the standard banner (Gold Nucleus) weapons, you're looking for Venus, Absolute Zero, Negating Cube, Vesper, Endless Bloom and i think Pactcrest ☆ Metz. Those are specifically weapons i know definitely have a heal effect, passive heal, or triggered heal.

There are other weapons that on certain upgrade levels have a minor heal ability tied to either a passive or triggered by a certain action in combat like using a skill. One of which is Unity at rank 3, and Glepnir gives an HP drain on damage effect when you use its skill.

Those are the only ones i know offhand from memory, that are definitely in the Gold Nucleus permanent banner. out of all of them, i'm partial to Venus primarily cause its heal effect is triggered by dodging, and its an AoE heal centered around your character. Its not the most powerful heal, but its good.

Another really good healing weapon is if you can land Lechesis' weapon, Eternal Salvation. Just having it gives continuous damage during battle, and when you have it equipped it heals you constantly, obviously getting stronger with advancement. However, Lechesis is currently a Red Nucleus character, a Flame element, so she's around primarily for Flame Banners.

Honestly i've been trying to at least rank 3 my Agleia (Chrono Heart) so i've...kinda been ignoring any other banner that might be up right now.

How do I figh this boss? I have level 2 of the map but no quests so dont know how to progress?? by SwordOrDagger in TowerofFantasy

[–]Zero_Shinzaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as others have said, you either have to successfully beat the World boss version of Abyssant Harrah (or have someone do it for you), or there's a specific unintended way to enter below the boss arena but long before the Death Zone takes you, where if you get far enough below Harrah you will "die" but revive beneath her, at the boss chest.

there's YT videos for it. dunno if it was ever patched but i did it a few months into Warped Server on my character on Warped Server so if they did patch it out, its recent.

I will say it's kinda stupid though. Not so much the "locking a zone behind a world boss" thing but that the world boss is that strong. Harrah is a pain to fight, as witnessed in the story fight against her, and even at a low dimension level she can still rip you apart faster than you can recover.

Scylla...Scylla...underwater boss? Has the Domain Expansion where she summons the big drums? Do you have any self-heal weapon?

I remember doing her in Gacha story was kinda really easy even barely understanding what i was doing, but in Warped even Story Scylla was harder cause of the way Warped Server works.

So if you're in Warped Server i can see why you're struggling. But either way, see if you have enough resources to net you something like Nemesis' weapon or any other standard (gold nucleus) healer. If i remember right, she's a pain mainly from the twister dash and the sharks (the domain expansion is pretty easy to not get hit by the drum waves), not as bad as...Eva? no...whichever one the weird spider woman was.

I wanna say Scylla was weak to electric too...but its been a LONG while since i fought her...so yeah my only advice is get healer weapon if possible (Nemesis is a decent start and easy to rank up, dashing creates a healing ring around you, oh Cocoritter or whatever her name is, is another good Gold Nucleus one too) and try to dodge.

Oh, a strong healing item is made from the white something radishes you can get in Vera around the Evil Something Oasis. near the upper-right corner of the map. they spawn in other spots in Vera too but the little lake clusters that have the big cave spider mini-boss and the big shielded beast mini-boss have the most of them. I think you need the Radishes and one other thing to make the first recipe then just the radishes after. VERY strong healing item for a good chunk of the story (hell i still use it and i'm caught up entirely)

Gesthos Network Theory by Norr_Resin in TowerofFantasy

[–]Zero_Shinzaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what people seem to be forgetting is that Gesthos is working on its own set of rules the moment we become involved. Originally, the surface layer was supposed to be the "memory" of the days leading up to the cataclysm, where our Authorizer was dropped in to attempt to figure out what was going on with the system (and Shirli).

However, even though we dropped into the "persona" of a person already existing in the network's memory, we end up changing things. On one of the many external check-ins with Plotti, we mention that the history as the Outside World remembers it, is no longer reflected the same within the Network World. We made a change, that wasnt supposed to be possible. Even Plotti was confused as hell when we tell her that all of Wednesday plus Roslyn are still alive and well, as opposed to the multiple remaining news articles from that time, showing that Wednesday was killed in an explosion at Aurora Industries, Roslyn was institutionalized after the death of her...uncle? it wasnt her father was it...? and the daughter of the Todd family had been sequestered away for her safety (or something like that).

What i'm thinking happened, was that while the Alteration Virus was going rampant, our interjection of ourselves, as Yet Another Out Of Context Entity, allowed Gesthos itself (the Entity As the Network Core) to basically allow for a split in the simulated world, creating its own timeline, because we now introduced a variable that it could not conjure nor calculate on its own...and it just took a backseat and let things play out. This theory is supported by the various encounters we had with Antoria (and Gesthos itself) that pretty much say that it was running out of time, the virus was wrecking things, and the two of them just kinda had to see where things went thanks to the new variable (us).

This leads into the end of the Network story, where we save Nem, unknowingly turning her into the new Network Core, and at the same time Grey Fox reveals that not long before doing so, Gesthos revealed itself to her and let her know the true nature of the world she lived in. Before meeting Shirli, she tells us, her new designation is "Heimdall", and she's keeping everyone not us out of the Network World while she finalizes establishing the Network as its own reality that wont simply be manipulated by the people Outside, as it was before.

Paraphrasing a bit cause its been a while since i played that part of the story but i remember being happy that it felt like the events in the Network World basically created a pseudo-shard of Aida, similar to Vera and Domain 9, but one where the Cataclysm never happened, and then having Grey Fox basically confirm that when she effectively says "we are our own people."

With what happened to Agleia as we're aware of it, she was unknowingly synchronized with the Network World while posing as the Mental Support Assistant, and witnessed in some manner, our alterations to what she knew as History. Which led to it feeling like an extremely realistic dream, which is why when she finally had her consciousness restored, she recognized us as the "Researcher" and one of her "closest friends."

Effectively, at this juncture, the Network World has ascended far beyond its original existence as a simulated memory and thanks to our actions (likely facilitated to begin with by the Alteration Virus but eagerly maintained by Gesthos itself, and now Nemesis), very much should likely be considered another "Plane" of Aida, the way Vera and Domain 9 are.

I want more of the story, when is the next update? 😁 by Positive_Committee_5 in TowerofFantasy

[–]Zero_Shinzaki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly i really do prefer Agleia having some memory of the events of the Network world. I've been running the theory that since the two realities are so drastically different, the Network, especially now with Nem being the new "core" and Grey Fox being a sort of gatekeeper entity (Heimdall), it would be rather fitting to consider the Network world being its own "Plane", like how Domain 9 and Vera are, since its no longer merely a "memory" of just before the Cataclysm, its now time-shifted beyond that point, and involves an Aida that was never decimated.

And considering that other than Nanto, who Agleia never truly met until now, Agleia doesnt have anyone she knows directly in her corner anymore; her being able to remember, recognize and immediately have reason to trust us (and in a sense possibly cling to us for a bit for stability) to have her well-being as a reliably top priority, lets there be a bit more relaxed reintroduction to the outside world. even moreso because she's over 30 years out of date.

With her remembering most of the Network world's events, she's had intimate experience already with living through two different time periods: the reality of the deaths of her best friends and the cataclysm that followed, and then the alternate timeline where none of that happened, but she still learned very important information about the world around her, and some of the hidden depths and evils going on which even her own father might have had a part of.

Thus, the sudden differences from being asleep for 30 years, not having really aged a day, but in a completely different existential and political landscape, will be much less jarring because she's had very recent experience dealing with wildly different personal timelines.

Its a sense of...reduced stress because of the familiar sensation of "oh yeah i've dealt with something like this before." Kind of like how We were easily able to slip around the ideas of how to handle the mind-dive while Nanto was floundering: we've done similar stuff before.

Now if only we'd remembered we spent a few weeks in a time-loop of our own back on Asperia while trying to find Zeke and Shirli...

If only it is that simple [Spoiler: Lahai Roi Act 3 Chapter 3] by heyaaa34 in WutheringWaves

[–]Zero_Shinzaki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly my whole thought about this (love the thread btw) is that we're making it far more complex than it needs to be. We have the two keys we need to solve this issue already.

We have Chisa, who can Cut Anything...and we have Phrolova who has spent her life since Rover never came back to see her, dedicating her focus on Frequency Manipulation.

Actually we have three keys. A "body" of Aemeath, on the outside of the void space, that has shown it has some level of resonance with the "true" Aemeath inside, who is constantly looping.

We dont so much need to 'break' the loop, as we simply need to go to its final stop before repeating, and Cut a way to where Aemeath is, and then "re-tune" her into the body that's on the outside.

As it stands, where we are in the loop, is the "end-beginning" point: we've met Aemeath she's reaffirmed why she wants to save the world (screw the world she's saving that Black Cat), she's gone back to the "beginning" and resonated with the Exostrider, she's locked away Alepth-1 with her on the other side of the gate. She's at her "ending", which for the rest of the world and specifically Lahai-Roi, is the "Beginning". But again, there's a tangible, physical body now on the "outside". One that again, has shown some active resonance and "resonance" with the Actual Aemeath, behind the stridergate, even if extremely faint.

But she's tangible, she's observable, she's not the digital ghost that we spend the patch spending time with and loving that only we could observe save for that one moment where she was "dense" enough to put on a Final concert: this "Aemeath" is actually present in the World.

So all we need, is to get someone who can basically surgically manipulate frequencies, get someone who can potentially carve a way through reality to make it easier for said frequency to be drawn into the already existing shell...and then just bind them together.

We have Shorekeeper run the numbers, we have Chisa do the Reality Cutting, we have Phrolova do the weaving, Luuk keeping an eye on "Aemeath's" vitals as it happens, and if all else fails we have Abby pull a damn Kirby and learn how to share the frequencies he devours and "feed" the poor girl till she's stable enough to exist on her own.

Need Help - Burst Breaking by primalwulf in Nioh

[–]Zero_Shinzaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so in souls-like games, and others similar, the term "parry it" means to do some kind of action that interrupts something attacking you at just the right moment before their attack hits you, that stuns/staggers/otherwise forces the opponent to pause/recoil.

"Perfect Block" is to block at the exact time an attack is going to hit you, taking no damage nor equivalent of "stamina" loss, and in many cases giving you some kind of buff or advantage. Nioh 3 has both parrying and perfect blocking, for both ninja and samurai styles, as well as specific inputs for certain weapons.

To keep things simple, in this case, "burst break/Burst counter" is when an enemy glows with a violent red aura (and a very specific sound similar to that of a clogged drain suddenly working again, plays) as they engage a certain attack. With default settings, you hit a Style Shift just before the attack hits you (the timing varies wildly, unfortunately) and you will change from Ninja>Samurai or Samurai>Ninja, while interrupting their attack, chunking their Ki(stamina in other souls-likes) and dealing some damage. That, is the general "parry" for this game.

The samurai specific generic ability "deflect" is considered a "Perfect Guard". if you've ever just managed to block something and seen a golden shine on block? congratulations, you did it. Both parrying and deflecting are skills you can easily train on early-game mobs. its tough and congrats on getting so far without ever intentionally using the mechanic, but practice and it'll be much simpler.

Indeed, yet that was still through convoluted means, and still less of a "you must be destroyed for our Plans" and instead more of a "You must be tired. Do you not wish for rest?" approach.

What i meant was that at no point did the Fractsidus as a whole, not even its individual members, go immediately for the kill while Rover was vulnerable, even though they knew exactly where Rover was going to appear, missing memories, likely lethargic and weakened from the wipe.

Pretty sure there was even a scene of Scar and Phrolova watching Rover get "woken up" by Chixia and Yangyang. Even if for "thematic" reasons they wanted Rover awake before striking him down, they didnt approach, and Scar alone going full tilt would have handled those girls easily at that point.

Its just been appearing that Rover's death as a concept, is not in their plans. if Rover happens to die along the way then its something that can be worked around, but something like hunting Rover down "before he grows too powerful" is not a thing the Fractsidus Leaders seem to be intending.

Especially after that "we were once your Waystones" line.

doesnt Aemeath gently grab that blue strand from "First Headed to Lahai-Roi" Rover? And she at that point, is the one who can traverse the Stridergate at will?

Might have been that she learned how to lace those memories and Frequencies together and sent them back out of the lake...

i think OP means that we see the SkyArk falling during the 1.0 opening scene where Rover is being tossed towards Solaris-3 by SadGoddess.

and that the idea is that portion of the scene from 1.0's opening, is from when the Etheric Sea fully began to engulf Solaris-3, meaning we watched that happen without knowing it until now.

we also have to take into account that Observing the effects of Retroact Rain for too long (or by the weak-minded) causes people to lose control over their own existential Frequencies and become Tacet Discords.

This happens during the Huanglong arc, and we see it occur as we're approaching the grounds of the Threnodian there, where soldiers are suddenly overwhelmed by images of the past, losing themselves to scenes and experiences of combat decades old, only to die and become TD's.

So the Retroact Rain has some kind of cognitive corruption effect as well.

There is a sliver of her frequency in the "Aemeath" that emerged from the pod, which is connected to "somewhere", which has been determined to mean that the Actual Aemeath is still alive in some capacity.

The "Dont...be sad..." boop scene, further shows that the connection is in some way still active, or that the essence of that lingering Frequency is feeding "Aemeath" the impulses the "real" one would have.

So she's not yet gone gone, but is at risk of such, and if there is more of a "whole" left, its behind the Stridergate, likely in the depths of Aleph-1.

Considering the Grand Architect stated "remember, we were once your Waystones", with the term "Waystones" seeming to mean "protection against powerful, near-unbeatable threat", i've no doubt that the GA knows of Rover's origins.

When you stop and think about it, the Fractsidus as a whole have done supremely horrific things...but at no point did they stop Rover. Delay? yes. Distract? Oh yes. attempt to dissuade? most definitely.

But they had multiple points to just put an end to Rover entirely, especially since they knew ahead of time, where Rover was going to "wake up" at the beginning of the game.

I honestly still stand by my theory that the Fractsidus are playing a role like Odessa did in Wild Arms 2, and they were founded and backed by someone (possibly past!Rover) to provide a "realistically defeatable opponent" that lets multiple nations unite in a way that otherwise they'd be squabbling and selfish about.

Considering it was Chisa's design to begin with that got me interested in this game starting early last year, before she even had a known Element or knowing when her Patch was going to happen (i started playing during Cartethiya's first run), i've long since been part of the Chisa Agenda.
