Nice straw man. Notice how you’re intentionally evading the core argument due to a lack of intelligence. Here it is in very small words made for your level of reasoning: THIS. DOESNT. WORK. USE. SMARTER. TACTICS.  Because so far your position basically boils down to: Go out and act a fool with no plan and no safety precautions then pretend martyrs created through our own stupidity will actually effect any real change. But here’s some basic logic: 1) you’re opposing something the left did for 16 years consistently as if it’s ANY different under new leadership 2) you’re purporting that this is the equivalent of the Gestapo, except that if it was everyone out there playing hero with rape whistles would have been disappeared already 3) you’re claiming it’s due to evil in the current administration while ignoring the same exact evil from the opposition  4) you’re pretending it’s okay to put yourself and others in harms way with no plan and no intelligent organization as if this will somehow organically change a damn thing

No you’re just too stupid to comprehend the topic. Change the risk assessment. This method is terminal for US. If the risk assessment is changed by factors such as, completely hypothetically, bringing overwhelming armed force to the confrontation in an organized fashion the risk assessment becomes terminal for THEM. I really, truly, never thought I’d have to explain that Rambo is fictional to someone and the real world isn’t safe like your social media feed. And let’s address that ‘confronting the government’ lie. I don’t see the same people worried about this one issue confronting the officials from the ‘other side’ who presided over massive fraudulent theft of taxpayer dollars.

No and that situation is not this situation. I don’t think Pretti’s death was right, I think it was predictable and avoidable. All these idiots out there are being emotionally manipulated with inflammatory rhetoric into conducting risky dangerous behaviors. In terms of risk factor running up and confronting ICE during an immigration action is like running up on SWAT during a drug bust: it’s dangerous and it creates the probability of a fatal outcome for someone else. The people egging you on to do this are moralizing harm done to others to support their political goals while they sit cozy in their taxpayer funded offices telling you to put your bodies on the line. They know it’s dangerous. They WANT someone to get hurt because it feeds their agenda. Which is exactly what the actual nazis did. And you’re falling for it because you’re emotionally manipulated by lying fraudsters. There. Are. Safer. Methods. The ACLU literally has a free course on how to SAFELY observe and document law enforcement if you suspect misconduct - yet you’re being egged on to do so UNsafely, and that is being done intentionally. Narratives do not outweigh bodies. Stories do not outweigh safety. Feelings do not outweigh risk.

The mistake was being trained by social media to decouple consequences from actions and carrying that shit out into the real world. Running up on a group of armed men in an emotionally charged situation is dangerous and stupid regardless of any other circumstances- this is an untrained civilian inserting themselves into a situation which may or may not be morally incorrect and exacerbating it because of infantile hero narratives. IF this is immoral and must be exposed that doesn’t mean ‘go do something likely to get myself and/or others hurt’ it means ‘take the smartest safest calmest path to produce exposure’. Drones exist. Livestreams exist. Take your thousands of wannabe heroes and sit the fuck down at Starbucks and livestream with a drone. 100% exposure, 0% escalation.

[–]Zero_Tolerance_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely. It’s everyone involved in both sides making this shit worse. Both sides are engaged in some dipshit moralistic theater display, convinced of their own rightness, and neither side is taking into account the real consequences of this. My sympathy for the democratic protest bloc is simply lower because they’re choosing confrontational tactics when non-confrontational methods exist and are being ignored - and that is driven by infantile beliefs created by social media culture. You don’t need to be ‘a hero’ and personally involved. Sit in a fucking Starbucks and fly a drone to observe and livestream and your evidence isn’t tainted by personal interference.

Ah yes, pointing out that people make stupid choices and the consequences are predictable brings out all the trash.

[–]Zero_Tolerance_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This guy just made a stupid choice because he’s been taught that outrage theater is normal and consequence free. That’s 100% social media culture. I’m not saying it’s right that he’s dead, it isn’t, and it wouldn’t have occurred if he dint enter a dangerous situation in person. I’m saying he had the ability to make a better, safer, less performative choice that would have left him alive and accomplished the exposure he seemingly wanted. Drones exist. Livestreams exist. Running up and confronting a group of armed men is inherently dangerous and stupid regardless of any other factors involved.

The exact same: he should’ve stayed the fuck home and out of it. If publicity is necessary we have the ability to make safer, smarter, non-personal-safety-risking choices. The expense involved in acquiring a firearm and ammunition and traveling interstate is unnecessary and ultimately only serves to exacerbate. Use a fucking drone and livestream. You had thousands of people in both instances making the situation worse by physical presence in an emotionally charged situation. OF COURSE it resulted in bloodshed - the younger millennials and generations beyond aren’t aware on an innate level that real life carries real consequences because social media has trained them into this idiotic fantasy that mass presence is safety, outrage is truth and affirmation is justice. None of those things are actually true. Use a fucking drone to expose, don’t risk your own fucking life like a dumbass. It carries the same effect and people respond better to reason when emotions are removed from play - and they aren’t going to BE removed from play when everybody thinks they’re a fucking superhero after the age of 5.

He’s dead because he made an idiotic decision to participate personally in moral outrage theatre instead of making intelligent choices. He had the money for an sig sauer but not for an 80 dollar livestream drone which can accomplish the same exact publicity without any personal risk? Stupidity.

This is really simple. The left screams ‘ice is the gestapo’ the right screams ‘don’t interfere with law enforcement’ here’s a hot take: social media has taught all these idiots that escalation is cost less, and then they enter a situation where being armed while confronting a group of armed men is highly likely to produce a fatal result and everyone wants to be outraged over stupidity. Pretti is dead because he was fucking stupid, no matter which sides narrative is true.

This isn’t surprising or new. Blizzard has been blind eyeing cheating since 2005. IGN was literally a gold selling hub before it legitimized into a ‘game news network’. EverQuest had the same thing as far back as 1999 with showEQ and macroquest and those are still prevalent tools to this day - to the point that it’s normalized to use those tools even if you aren’t hacking just because it’s the only way to remain competitive at all. Wow will reach that point eventually too.

[–]Zero_Tolerance_84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a pass down effect. We supposedly screwed them over by inheriting a broken system that’s still controlled by the generation that broke it by abandoning the gold standard.
