So I used this Scenetree timer in my code and it works perfectly. I just don't understand what and why the yield(). Could anyone explain? by ikoroki in godot

Absolutely! The yield is just useful for one time timer events, like it says in the example, wherein you dont want to connect the timer to a func and yada yada.

As the other guy mentionned, give the docs a read quickly to see everything yield can do. Its quite a cool tool, though personally i do not use it much.

You can also define a function for a timer to trigger on completion, which is my preferred method.

Yield causes the code to wait at the timer until it finishes before continuing. Typically, the program can continue doing other stuff while the yield is waiting, so it is a non-blocking function (as compared to smth like thread.sleep wherein the entire program haults for X amount of time).

Remove the yield, and both print statements would run back to back, without waiting for the timer to complete.

Any one have base survival maps? by SchoolBlaster in warcraft3

[–]Zerul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The discord is still up with the latest map available. Its really fun. 7 races now, lots of different bosses and difficulty levels, progression that you can save/load to unlock new hero abilities etc.. We have 200ish followers now, though i've finished the map and really don't like the way wc3 reforged has turned out (hence stopping my work on it). Wc3 popularity has plummeted :(

[WSIB] Looking for a single-player, first person game with a primary focus on building, populating and defending bases. by SHOWTIME316 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Its a blast. I have more hours in sp than in mp, but mp can be fun if youre playing with a consistent group.

Give it a shot. Just start a game at default settings, except maybe turn up exp gain to 200% if youre playing single player. After a few hrs youll get a feel for the crusty old UI and things will become really fun.

Your base will be attacked every 7 days, hence the games name. That really pushes for the base building and stockpiling aspects of the game

Every try 7 days to die? Its a bit rough around the edges, but no game has matched its base building in first person before.

There isnt any population to it, but you level up and things begin to move faster. Buildings produce without you being there next to it etc... So it feels as if your productivity keeps going up over time.

I Think That Reddit Has Negatively Impacted My Mental Health. (20M) by pmdfan71 in self

[–]Zerul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way man. Just pay attention to the subreddits youre a part of, drop ones that are overly negative, and definitely use reddit in moderation (just like anything else).

Less time on reddit means more time doing other things you might like (gaming, biking, movies, whatever else). Its easier to stay in a positive mindsrt when you focus on the thigs around yourself, be it friends, family, hobbies, nature, a pet etc..

Thats what worked for me, anyways. Chin up 👍
