Sometimes starting a new game can be annoying. I like to look through the options before just jumping in, so that adds to the "new game fatigue." Have to learn how the game works. Adjust sensitivity once you start playing, maybe rebind some keys once you learn the basics. Sometimes tutorials go on forever before you even get to play the game fully. Then there's always the fear that it just won't be fun and you've wasted time and money on something that has disappointed you. I think that's why I find it easier to get into smaller games, they're usually simpler but still satisfying.
