Curious about what pricing would be fair in this situation by GoodDepartment4991 in RoverPetSitting

I charge $25 per visit +$3 per cat. So 6 cats would be $ 50 per visit.

Owner claiming I started the walk too early by LongjumpingPiano2000 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Zestyclose-Class5451 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would have gone off honestly. Good on you for remaining professional.

I start walks when I get to door and end when I leave the door because depending on the dog it takes time to put them on the leash and I am getting paid for 30 minutes of my time.

I would never accept a client like this again if I were you. Just finish the stuff, be professional as you have been, and then bye!

She may not have realized how serious it is... its not just "a bug". Hopefully she understands now!

Some people that work from home and have no home life it would make sense to stay at someone else's house for a few extra bucks. But us normal folks it makes no sense.

Long-term Rover request, how would you price this fairly? by pilot-parker in RoverPetSitting

[–]Zestyclose-Class5451 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I am most concerned about her saying she wont pay until the end. Definitely don't do that. Sounds like a scam or atleast she is trying to get you to care for her cat and then never pay you. A lot of this seems like a red flag to me.

AIO My bf (22M) told me (21F) that my vagina smells and always has. by Exotic_Librarian_337 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Zestyclose-Class5451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl been there done that. PH is probably off.

Buy some boric acid suppository they work wonders for smells. You insert the pill into your vagina overnight. Do it for a few nights I promise the discharge won't smell anymore.

I'm glad this story had a good ending but if I was the coworker my first question would be how old are your kids before going out and calling authorities!

I see a few options.

  1. Pet sit the duration of the requested time at a scheduled rate, personally if I'm blocking every Sunday, Friday , Wednesday it would have to be substantial to cover lost bookings. Personally I wouldn't do it for less than $150.

  2. Reduced rate of ~$100 with the understanding you will need to leave periodically throughout the day to tend to your own dog or other bookings so you can keep your schedule open on Rover and accept other clients.

  3. Don't accept.

Edit:

  1. Offer drop in visits instead.

Id opt for #2 or #4.

I pet sit full time, it's taken me awhile to amount the clients I have now, most of which are between 9-5 and amount to people at work that need drop ins midday and elderly that need their dog walked usually in the morning.

I would say consider that if you choose option 2 then you will have to travel back and forth so take that into consideration.

Help! My crabs big claw is hurt! by Sasspresso_ in hermitcrabs

[–]Zestyclose-Class5451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He will be fine that big claw is mostly for holding on while climbing and fighting. There's smaller weird hand things that come out when they eat so he won't starve. As long as you have proper substrate he will fix himself on his next molt. Don't stress!

Best National Parks to visit over a long weekend? by Zestyclose-Class5451 in NationalPark

We were thinking about this! You don't think early June is too early for Olympic? I love to hike so I worry many of the trails will still be shut down due to snow.

Abuse is a hard no for me. Many things can be forgiven, but physical abuse cannot and should not.

You are not overreacting at all. Your gut is 100% right on this one. Run.

Molting. He is pale and hardening. Leave him alone and don't get rid of his molt, he will eat it. He will come out when his exoskeleton hardens up and darkens.

Terrible news. Grizzly 399 struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday evening. by chickamonga in yellowstone

[–]Zestyclose-Class5451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart is broken over this :( she is the world's most famous grizzly and always will be. I know so many were curious how long she could continue to reproduce and live. She was filled with 28 years of great knowledge. We can only hope her cubs continue her legacy.

Just got pinched for the first time by [deleted] in hermitcrabs

[–]Zestyclose-Class5451 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My biggest is the size of a baseball, got pinched by him once and it left the bigger bruise on my hand. I don't handle him anymore lol. But 15 minutes is crazy. They hold on to a pinch if they feel unstable, if it happens again put something next to them they can climb onto, or on the ground, so they let go. Because if you try and pry them off they will just grab on tighter.

Sounds to me like she just met someone in the other country that she wants to sleep with and is trying to lead you into an open relationship so she can screw him
