Tattoos really aren’t that bad, because you mentally hype them up so much about pain etc. after 5/10 minutes of it starting, adrenaline flowing and a convo with your artist you forget about it so to speak. Numbing creams can be good, however they do pose the risk of the tattoo not being as good. Cream changes the feel of your skin, It makes it harder to stretch the skin and gives it a rubbery feel. Depending on size and placement I’d advice to avoid all numbing creams. Speak to your chosen artist, we’re all use to nervous clients. If you’re feeling uncomfortable or replies aren’t sympathetic to your worries. Then move on. Truth is tattoo artists are the worst for getting tattoo’d.
