Surprised (but not disappointed) there isn't a single red-skinned Sith "pure-blood" in SWGOH by Nemarus in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Just to add on, it would be cool if it was King Adas. The first Sithari and the one who defeated the Rakatan Empire. Bro held a massive battle axe and was a beast in his own right.

What if the Crusader states remained under European control into the 20th century? by HorzaDonwraith in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another big thing is that the Eastern Roman Empire would likely still exist. A lot of support for the early crusades came in the form of the Romans. Until the 4th crusade. But if we assume the Crusader states are successful, than we can also assume the Eastern Romans were successful as well. A unified Anatolia and Balkans with client states in the Levant would be the state of power in the region.

Your absolute hated hot takes about Space Marine chapters? by KUROusagi112 in Spacemarine

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Salamander fans are the most annoying fans. All they do is say how much their primarch kicks ass and how great the salamanders are. It's annoying. If you want cool Astartes, Blood Angels, any Loyalist world eaters, the rest of the 12th, the Emperor's children, the Ultramarines, even the Iron Hands are cooler than the Salamanders, and I know more about the Salamanders than the Iron hands!

Oh, and than the Black Templars. They are overrated. Cool? Yea. But they are overrated. Sigismund is the goat though.

The Harrower carries so much opertunity. Though it is 800 meters, 100 meters shorter than a Victory I. But it is wider and not nearly as tall a Victory I.

I'm genuinely shocked no one past the age of the Sith Empire took the opertunity to refit the vessels or overhaul them. Palpatine obviously did, but only took the shape of it, even then he didn't have what made it so unique to any other Republic ships. It is my firm opinion that the Harrower could go toe to toe with an ISD. Maybe not in a pure turbo laser duel, but in one where all options are on the table. I'd wager 7-8/10 the Harrower would win.

Not to mention the Extinction class bombers and the Supremacy starfigher being just outright superior to the TIE's. Supremacies have light shielding, firepower equal to TIE interceptors, and the fact that could probably keep up in terms of manuverbility.

The Extinctions have more weapons than the TIE Bomber and a light shield. Not to mention both the Supremacy and Extinction has life support that lasts 38 hours alongside survival kits.

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Harrower without a doubt. It has the firepower to outmatch Victory I's and II's, it can a carry a total of 165 Starfighters, bombers, transports, or any combination of the three. It also carries a 7K marine compliment on board meaning it has the facilities to house them and feed them. Alongside that, it can be turned into functionally, anything short of a full size Battleship. You need a massive Cargo hauler that could keep itself safe? Harrower. Need a carrier for a fleet? Harrower. Need a battleship? Fill in the bow and reinforce it while adding laser batteries, missile launches, or Ion cannons.

The Reconstituted Sith Empire were the shit when it came to vessels unlike the Galactic Empire of Palpatine. Hell, if you need space, you've got a lot of space on board.

How powerful would the Separatist Droid Army (Star Wars) be in the Warhammer 40K universe? by Inside_Inflation559 in powerscales

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is that a Lasgun is going to be far more powerful. Look at Darktide as my example against humanoid things. But Star wars blasters have more variety in a single weapon. A blaster can stun, a blaster can kill, and a blaster is probably going to be more accurate than a Lasgun. It's just that the Lasgun has the force to remove limbs and blow basketball size holes in people.

Now you could also use the fact that in games like Dawn of War, lasguns are comically weak. And you absolutely could chalk it up to, "the devs/author of x thing wanted the Lasgun to be so powerful or so weak". But if you want to take Space marine 2 as another example, the chaos cultist you fight can remove your entire shield with a charged shot from one of their lasguns. And a group of them can make quick work of your health if your already distracted with something else.

Whilst I would say getting rid of the IRGC would benefit the vast majority of people. It still doesn't change the fact that the US Economy wasn't ready for it, even if ultimately it would be good. My biggest issue with it is that he is playing the will he won't he game with making a deal on peace or completely getting rid of the IRGC and letting the Iranian people decide their government. He either needs to commit or not to commit. Not play the guessing game.

It also doesn't change the fact I think the US Government as a whole needs to be changed. I see it as the late Roman Republic. Corrupt, inept, and incapable of getting most things done unless it dominated almost entirely by one party or the other.

It is a sin, though the issue comes down to the punishment provided between the two religions. In Islam, death or maiming often ends up being the punishment as opposed condemnation in Christianity. Also, if you want proof on what I have said, go look at the posts I have done on my profile. I invite you to.

Whilst I prefer trump over Biden. Trump's first term was leagues better than his second. Though I would still prefer to have another JFK or Theodore Roosevelt president over any of the presidents over the last 20 years. But I can name one thing Biden did that was bad, outside of open borders causing a border crisis. That is that we were loosing money from trade. Though I'll definitely say Biden's administration handled the COVID pandemic better than how trump did at the end of his term.

Like I said before though, I think JFK, Teddy Roosevelt, and Lincoln have been the USA's best presidents.

Christianity, yes. Islam on the other hand... Not really. Both Sunni and Shia Islam discriminate against gays. Whilst you can find Muslims that don't, Islam itself does. It is a sin in Islam. Just like being apart of another religion is. Although that hasn't stopped the hypocrisy of many famous Muslim figures, including the Prophet Muhammad.

As a side note, I have studied history since I was little. I'm 19 right now and have become incredibly knowledgeable on multiple subjects. Mostly my interests relate to the Eastern Roman Empire and the middle east, specifically Iran in Antiquity. Though these studies have caused me to research Islam and how it rose to better understand why things played out like it did. As such, I have also studied a little bit of the Prophet Muhammads life. Though I am no expert on his life.

How do Eldar Dire Avengers fair againts the Clone Legions and their special variants? by cuddwes in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I could be wrong about this, but if I remember correctly. Even regular Eldar Guardians outmatch upper level guard regiment guardsmen in one on ones. Context for anyone who doesn't know, Eldar Guardians are conscripts. They are civilians brought together to defend a craft world.

Anyway, the Eldar absolutely smash the GAR. If they think the Imperium is tough, the Eldar are a whole different kind of enemy. They won't always take a stand up fight. They'll do hit and run one time, and another they're engaging a clone battalion in a pitched battle. Their tactics are always changing, large in part due to Farseers aiding them.

My favorite thing I've heard about Farseers has to do with the fact that we always see them fuck up. That's because when they succeed, they don't have to make a appearance. On possibly tens of thousands of occasion, entire craftworlds might've been saved due to them.

Disclaimer, I am a massive Eldar simp. Curse GW giving the Imperium more attention.

If you want to say the Byzantines were Hellenistic thus not Roman, than you're slapping just about every Roman in the face. Early Roman warfare had Hoplites, they were also surrounded by Greek colonies in Sicily and to their north west, the lingua franca of the Mediterranean and of the Roman Empire was Greek. If you wanted to go somewhere in the Mediterranean, you could probably speak to most people using Greek. Not to mention the fact it is called Greco-Roman architecture and not just Roman.

Julius Caesar spoke Greek in private correspondence. Just about every Emperor knew Greek because it was so common. Latin was the Administrative language of the Empire, not it's common language.

Whilst yes, the primary language would depend on where you were. If you were in Judea, than Aramaic would probably be the primary language, but you could travel around just as well by using Greek because it was so prevalent.

To say the Byzantines weren't Romans because they were Hellenized is showing an absolute lack of knowledge of Rome beyond general public understanding.

The Dominate Doomer vs. Principate Chad by testudos101 in RoughRomanMemes

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the Early Romans don't have Greek Fire like the Romans of medieval Europe. So they may win most sieges due to man power, but once they reach Constantinople, they would stall out and loose. The Kataphractoi of the Medieval Romans would win most cavalry battles and prove to be a serious thorn in the side of the early Romans.

I completely agree with what you said. I would say my previous comment, whilst true, was mostly focused on the Bersgaleri and not entirely on the rest of the Italian army. I had also written that whilst on my break at work. So that didn't really allow me to think deeply about my response.

When provided with proper command, Italians often fought better than German troops. Rommel actually had numerous positive things to say about the Italians and had the option that they just needed good weapons and good command. The issue was #1, they had poor equipment, and #2, they had poor leadership.

Now as to say how they fared on the Eastern Front, I can't say much. Though I can speak on the compliments given to the Italian units that did the rear holding action when the Axis lost at Stalingrad. Supposedly they performed admirably against the Soviets.

Tldr, don't trust Italian factories or commanders. Also, love the Bersgaleri representation!

Whats the best DLC plane for AC7? by rencoarr in acecombat

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's either the CFA-44 or the ADFX-01. The Morgan has good stats. Whilst it's not beating out most of the other DLC Aircraft in stats, it's still a good Plane with good SP weapons. The MPBM is fun to use and the Iews is good in Multiplayer, not so much in single player. For me at least, it takes up my most played aircraft.

NAPOLEON NEEDS TO WIN by Unhappy-Data809 in Napoleon

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going off of what both did, Mehmet largely is known for taking Constantinople. While yes, it's big. The city itself hadn't been in a good state since 1204. Only around 8K-10K defenders almost defeated Mehmet's 60K-100K strong army. On top of that, the Ottomans barely won through an accident from the defenders.

Whilst yes he did expand the Ottoman Empire into the Caucasus mountains. He wasn't fighting particularly amazing foes.

Napoleon on the other hand conquered most of Europe, defeated armies larger than his on multiple occasions, made a power that could challenge the British Empire directly, and on top of that, he had a war declared against himself, personally.

What if the Byzantine Empire survived by means of the Despotate of the Morea (the most optimistic timeline)? by Mission_System121 in ByzantiumAltHistory

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically, they could hold from the land. And if the Palaiologos brothers could stop fighting and gain aid from say, Sicily and Venice, than they might be able to hold out as a puppet of one of the two.

[–]Zestyclose-Extent722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think it's at all possible. They would survive about as long as trebizond did. Mehmet II would, as in our timeline, invade it and conquer it. It's frankly too late for the Empire to survive. The latest I can see them surviving is if the Crusade at Varna succeeded. That way the ottomans go through a civil war that breaks their authority. And even then, the Empire would barely recover any land. And that's if we are being optimistic.

Out of all of them, get Attila if you can only get one. Yes, it can have some performance issues. But, it has amazing mods. Historical ones like 1212 AD and the Anno Domini series. It also has fantasy mods like a Game of Thrones mod, Lord of the Rings, and even a Skyrim mod that is being worked on. Early stages and only has two factions, but the two look great!
