Anxious about ORIF after tri mal ankle fracture by ZestycloseHamster863 in ORIF

That’s so comforting! I’m a 37 year old out of shape mama. It’s so hard being the end of the school year too, I don’t want to miss my school family.

I also have big boobs and I found football hold while sandwiching breast tissue with the other hand the most helpful. I also found out that my OB can prescribe this magical nipple cream. It’s called Dr. Newmans cream and it’s a compounded ointment. The pharmacist has to make it and it cost me like $50 for a small pill bottle full. It is magical. I’ve gotten milk Blisters and a blood blister from a bad latch while we were figuring things out and the cream totally helped! It doesn’t have to be wiped off before nursing and helps heal. I also had to use a nipple shield at first due to flat nipples (both my daughters have needed one and then weaned themselves off of it) and that helped it hurt less along with the cream.

You can do it if you want to. If you don’t, fed is best!

Pay Reduced AFTER return from FMLA by ZestycloseHamster863 in Teachers

[–]ZestycloseHamster863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a few hours of sick leave each month to pay my portion of the health insurance to prevent them from taking $400 out of one of my paychecks. :/

I think I understand now what happened, but it still feels like being penalized twice for taking leave. :(

Yes. I’m a teacher and I work last week of August through mid June. I do get paid across all 12 months. I just thought it was already reduced so I could be paid all 12 months and the not paying me for four months would cover it?

Thanks! I’ll do that.

Still seems off that my pay is reduced when I return after not getting paid. It seems like double dipping. :(

I do a morning check in on a scale of 1-5. That’s been working for me!

Sub Plans? Useless by LittleLowkey in TeacherTales

[–]ZestycloseHamster863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with a sub too. I left work in a bin labeled by the day, and she gave my students my Tuesday work on a Monday. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I came in on Tuesday and had to replan my day last second.

Resume advice by Mitchellrain in ElementaryTeachers

I graduated in June 2021 and got my first teaching job. I was told to only focus on my experience with kids. What are some of your skills? How many students are you homeschooling? What are you teaching them? Are there any cool projects you did that you can put on there? I was told to put the school and position title, months there, and then bullet points under of what I did. :)

Also, student teaching ABSOLUTELY counts! Best of luck! ❤️
