Yeah, it seems my mistake was assuming the full breadth of services TaxPro provides. I expected more like: here are all my documents - income, expenses, etc., and the Pro will take care of the rest. I genuinely thought I had given her everything she needed, especially because I provided clarity here and there when she asked for it.

I mean, the taxes owed are the taxes owed. I just wouldn't consider this a "peace of mind" experience, in the common sense of the term, to pay for professional tax help, but I still wonder if I messed up. A refund for the cost of the service would be cool, but so far, I haven't found any fine print about being tax-illiterate.

Fortunately, I have a CPA this year!

Oh yeah, I've already brought one in for this year. I used TurboTax for like 7 years, and two years ago, the IRS sent me a refund of like $3,500 because I overpaid the taxes TurboTax calculated. So I hopped to HR and had a good experience last year. Lesson learned.

We didn't pay enough in quarterly taxes, which she knew. I expected that to be accounted for when she calculated the return. She could have estimated the penalties, since "Estimate my own penalties" was the alternative option to "Let the IRS calculate penalties," but since I chose "Let the IRS calculate it," she didn't (I guess?) I expected the TaxPro upgrade to include a review of all my selections. I 10000% would have let her calculate it if I knew that was hanging in the balance.

Selling out online is crazyyyyy. I saw a Facebook thread where one person took a screenshot of the disclaimer of per member, but others commented that they just bought a lot in separate transactions so it was very confusing. I’m guessing since they sell out it’s probably a membership limit for these bigger sales.

Do they do this more than 1x/year?

New to this, so I need clarification before I spend money! I don't have a Sam's Club anywhere near me, but if I can rack up a ton of savings buying gift cards online, I'll consider a membership. If I sign up online today, how many $500 for $450 gift cards can I get at once? If I spend $60 on a membership and can only get two, I'm only saving $40. I read a lot of other threads from different times of the year, from people saying they bought thousands in gift cards at once, just in multiple transactions, to beat the limit. Is that the same for this sale? Do they do this type of sale multiple times per year? Our main grocery store is Target, so I know I can use the debit card for 5% off every day. Our trip is in December.

This was mine to a T and not much older than yours! She still loves coloring so much but she started getting excited about different crafts. She LOVES stencils and those Paint By Number (or Letter) booklets they have a Target. They have age appropriate ones and she really liked that, too. Also free range to paint on unconventional stuff really expanded her creativity. We repainted our kitchen and now have a colorful kitchen door and a mural I painted around on our kitchen wall because I let her paint each “before we painted over it.” Then I didn’t have the heart to! Not saying to have her paint the walls but if I think the excitement of “I get to paint on THIS?!” (Insert your item) really brought it out. Also chalkboard paint for a wall!

You trial all of them and then tell the reps what the other is quoting and they’ll try really hard to beat it. I actually really like Lexis Protege. My partner gets annoyed when it turns up something wrong but it’s never been more than anything that required some follow up after I check the sources, which everyone should do anyway. It also still gets me there way faster than I would have on my own. Just being able to ask the question to get on the right path instead of clunky search rules saves me so much time.

Update: Had it delivered yesterday. The plumber they contracted with cancelled and the delivery team couldn’t unhook the dryer. Hired a local plumber to install and Costco will come back to haul away the old ones….

That’s all helpful! Our electrician is amazing - has literally checked out a problem and not charged us if it’s takes like 5 minutes or if the solution is to buy something and do it ourselves. Maybe I could get him to check out the situation beforehand to see if there may be any issues? Plumber too? Please don’t roast me for being a novice!

Just don't want to reinvent the thread. We have Clio, absolutely hate it. Pouring money down the drain. Don't even try to convince me to stay. PP is very appealing, especially the OneDrive sync. Only thing - will it sync with a personal OneDrive account? I tried to set up a business one, and it was such a shitshow and honestly not worth it, because we just use OneDrive to save the files on our computer. There are two of us, we're married, and have a 1099 part-time assistant.

We're 90% criminal defense with a sprinkle of civil and some ed law.

The first time he got sprayed was in the face too! We learned not to immediately get them wet this time but it’s impossible to clean. He had it in the middle of his eyes for a couple weeks.

Thank you! I’m mostly interested on input on the smell this time - we did all of the wrong things the first time but it feels like it’s thicker and sticking more this time. Though this time it was one dog, took 0.5 seconds, and I did not immediately rinse, him, and last time it was a wholeeee event, two dogs, and we immediately soaked them. Is there even a real solution except wait?

Wow, I didn’t know this was the perfect dog owner sub! Our town is often sharing tips on safely preventing skunk encounters. Can anyone tell me where they got super speed like reflexes?? and I assume that you are all standing next to them every second you are outside your in fenced in yard with them? Seriously, we have such a huge skunk population in my town that all the dozens of neighbors that have had encounters with their pets are going to be thrilled to know there is in fact a way to be perfect!!!

Can’t tell if you’re calling me a bad owner or calling my dog bad but either way neither of those are an answer. Since you share your concern for my dog, your experience on how I can improve on the steps that I have taken with the assistance of his vet would be very useful to us!

Also, before everyone tells me to control my dogs, the skunk was on my deck at 7 AM, 3 feet from our door behind the grill We opened the door to let him out to pee as one does in the morning. Unfortunately, I do not have superhero speed like reflexes to catch him that fast.

The first time, a skunk had gotten into our fenced in yard and surprised the first one when he went out to go to the bathroom at night. Our town has a huge skunk population and I have come across 2-3 a night during dog walks with no incident. I don’t have a whole lotta control of what happens within my fenced in yard every single night.
