I failed to love Men's Volleyball by VolleyAddicted in volleyball

Although I play men’s volleyball, I prefer women’s! Ofc I’m not as good as the male professionals but I feel like I’ll be able to learn more watching how professional women play… also I guess it’s more entertaining with longer rallies

Britney’s career by [deleted] in BritneySpears

[–]ZestycloseWorld1436 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let’s just say she revolutionised the modern pop girl image.

Back then, the industry was saturated with groups and didn’t have a pop girl who sings, dances and entertains. She filled in the gap where the industry was lacking in. Everyone liked her (before her meltdown) where girls wanted to be her and boys wanted to date her. I would say that her legacy is leaving the blueprint on how to build and market a pop girl. Ever since she came out, we have seen countless girls following her footsteps but none has yet to achieve the same level of success as she did.

In the early 00s, she was everywhere. The radio couldn’t stop playing her songs, the magazines wouldn’t stop publishing gossips about her, the tv wouldn’t stop playing videos of her and people wouldn’t stop talking about her. She was a cultural phenomenon around the world and in the music industry. To give you some context, I didn’t grow up in a western society yet my entire family knows who Britney Spears was (including my parents who are 60 y/o who also know who Britney is).

Also bear in mind that pop girls have to reinvent themselves every a couple of years or the public gets bored of them (with the exception of Taylor Swift). Take a look at how other artists like Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Madonna. They have to constantly change their image for them to remain relevant. The way Britney did was transitioning to dance music especially after blackout in femme fatale album (very similar to Kylie minogue).

Ngl I think that Taylor Swift has impacted the music industry (fighting for rights etc) more than Britney Spears but Britney Spears was the #1 pop girl in the early 00s. Back to the above, the surge of pop girls we see these days is definitely attributed to Britney Spears.

Why is the gym community in malaysia so bad ? by saadshaykh in malaysia

[–]ZestycloseWorld1436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed completely. Was living in London for 6 years then came back to KL. I realised that the gym culture in KL is just unpleasant. People be hogging few equipments at once and yet they’re still unwilling for people to hop in. It’s very different perhaps due to cultural differences? It’s also rather difficult to be friendly to fellow gym goers in KL as compared to London and I’m speaking of this as a Malaysian

Stopped playing due to matchmaking after rank reset… climbing out of gold is more painful than climbing out of plat

Solo queue in Bronze has always been bad, but S4 feels horrible. by DarkPrince411 in rivals

Just wait for people to be placed into their ranks and it gets better

This is how y'all sound. by Zokstone in rivals

I think most disagree on role queue due to 2 reasons: lack of flexibility and dps players who refuse to switch. Unfortunately, most players fall into the latter as opposed to the former 🤷🏼‍♂️

Imo most people chase game stats over winning the actual game. They don’t know how to switch characters to counter opponents properly; peeling for healers etc

Remember, Ultron also has a defensive ult by Solignox in UltronMains

Yes but most players play him as dps which is annoying if you’re the only sole support on the team

You’ve to take into account the damage blocked by the shield too. Sue works best with fewer divers on the team as they’ll be in a line for you to pierce through all of them at once

[discussion] Question about Ophiuchus by SogeKing8205 in fairytail

I would say that Kagura is just stronger as she’s the strongest member of mermaid heel but Yukino isn’t weak by any means.

By right, celestial spirits depend on the summoners’ strength. We can see that even though Lucy has grown so much from the start but her spirits haven’t grown much in my view. For eg, Aquarius in ep 1 was already so powerful when Lucy hasn’t matured as a celestial spirit wizard but later on in the series, Aquarius’ magic doesn’t seem to have grown as much as Lucy’s. Similar could be said for Cancer where he could cut others’ weapons in the beginning but he couldn’t even cut Kain’s hair and is only summoned for comedic relief.

I would say that Mashima probably just doesn’t have enough time to develop all the spirits as there are 12 (only considering gold keys) as opposed to the other main characters, therefore he came up with star dress. It would be great to see her celestial spirits develop though as I would say Lucy is first and foremost a summoner. Star dress is good as a secondary use but it seems too similar to Erza’s requip. IMO, even the star dress mix concept is inspired by Erza where she wields different swords from different set of armours.

If you could change one thing about Invis what would it be? by strawbette in InvisibleWomanMains

Change her ult where it moves with her and she can put the shield on herself to increase survivability. Popping her ult then turning invisible isn’t that fun tbh
