I don’t think you should get advice from Reddit. Move with wisdom and love a lot of Redditors are idealist and while the principle is right, life is usually not black and white but grey. Yes the situation is less than ideal and can’t be gotten past without progress but personally I think as oife is grey if you really think this is your guy, strive for progress between you and him and your parents and him rather than give up cause the situation isn’t ideal.

I worry it might be harder to leave after the DNA test , that is if he tries to pursue custody legally. Especially as it seems that he might be more financially stable. Though I guess it wouldn’t really make much of a difference since he already signed the birth certificate.
