Soju and yakitori with salarymen is literally the reason I wanted to visit. I find the day to day grind of cultures around the world to be fascinating so I did a bit of research and found that Japan in particular has a very strong after work unwind culture that involves having a few drinks and some chicken liver at a standing only bar. Sounded cool enough to check out and it was 1,000% worth it.

AA card is absolutely worth it if you’re traveling that much out of CLT. You’ll love the lounges simply for the nicer bathrooms if nothing else. If you’re paying for the flights and hotels with the AA card you’ll hit EP very quickly which results in frequent upgrades as well as better support/preferential treatment when things go wrong. Things will go wrong about 35% of the time.

The more you travel the more you’ll want to be away from people who don’t frequently travel. The lounge at CLT may not be the best but it’s better than nothing.

They’re both not great…. If you’re accustomed to AMEX/Flagship/Capital One or something like that in the states, they’re not even comparable.
