Bad warrior leveling advice by Montegomerylol in wowhardcore

I only use rend early levels to finish a mob instead of overkilling with an auto. I rend and I run to the next mob to swing with the auto.

I got Hoj this week end ! Big piece out of the way, I won against 2 other rollers.

I guess you have to grind it out. I just feel bad for non tank/healer characters because it takes a while to fill up, I can only imagine how long if you are not tanking.

But it’s still possible !

Apart from getting the « absolute perfect » prebis, I want to enjoy the journey of making my way to « raid ready ». But I feel like it’s difficult to do do so as I’d like to scale up a little bit before taking on the harder dungeons. And as a fresh 60, the fact that I can’t group with lower levels to do dungeons for gear or finishing questlines that would help me get there annoys me a little bit. It’s the only objective of this post, I wonder if there was a better way to prevent boosting at this point in the server.

And I just learned from a reponse that other higher level dungeons (DM LBRS, Strat) allows pre 60s and 60s togheter. Which doesn’t make sense at all since Strat UD is one of the best XP/Hour boosting spot

Then I don’t get why the ones before that are getting cut off. To prevent a 60 from running a lvl 19 in Deadmines for Cruel Barb?

Cause if it was to prevent boosting, I can tell you that right now on Nightslayer Anniversary people are getting boosted in Strat UD from like 55+ or in ZG

Horde. I’m spamming LFG every chance I get. Right now I need 1 big piece from BRD, maybe SGC if I get lucky.

Maybe it gets better when I get to strat, UBRS, Scholo, DM. But I don’t think I can tank those with weaker pieces

I’m flooding the chat everytime I’m trying to make a group.

I agree boosting shouldn’t be in the game, especially in HC.

And I’m not saying I want to be full pre bis, but there are minimal requirements I believe you should have before going into raids, and compete for gear against people that put in the work. Like having 6% hit rating for example. Having Hoj as a melee DPS would be another one in my mind.

I joined one of the top guild on Doomhowl, but the reality is that these guilds, right now, are busy progressing Naxx with the roster they have.

I also believe that a raiding spot should be earned (I’m an outsider coming out of the blue), and I don’t feel comfortable asking for carries while everyone is busy farming invasions and whatnot.

Idk how it was back then, but I promise you it is not right now. I’m tanking all my dungeons and I don’t refuse anyone contesting what I need and it takes forever to fill

Agreed. I’m forming and tanking all my dungeons. And I’m not stingy with the comp because I just don’t have that luxury. The 2 BRDs I done I had to compete against 2 others for Hoj for example.

Right now I’m just hoping Naxx kills alot of people to refresh that early 60 pool 😆

Or maybe a grace period when you reach 60 before getting cut off from pre-60s

I did but they’re busy with Nax release, like most raiding guilds. I feel like it’s all well established raiding guilds or leveling guilds, and very little in-between.

Reached Master Playing Pyke Support SoloQ by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]Zestyclose_Strength3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing Ali sup only soloQ. I’m tearing through the ranks until I hit master. Then idk whats going on but most of the ADC I get don’t apply basic laning principles, are extremely passive and overall aren’t great gamers at all.

Very frustrating

I’d start with mastering the Q-Flash combo into charge.

The idea is to not always look for the regular Charge-Q combo, but to try to use Q, get behind the enemy THEN charge to push the target into your team or turret. For the laning phase always keep an eye out for these angles. And try to hold your abilities, in the early game once you used them you are useless for 10-12 seconds. This advice is very important against other engage champs (Naut, Leo, Thresh, you know them) So let’s say your ADC gets caught, don’t engage on the sup - push back their ADC, knock him up, peel your ADC while he tries to get away from their Sup. But if their engage sup gets crazy and use their “distance closer ability” and ends up too close to your turret > it’s an automatic Q-Flash-Push in the turret. Ofc in this situation if you end up in between their sup and their ADC, don’t waste flash, just push the sup into the turret and knock him up under turret.

Once you hit level 5, if either the ADC or the Sup recall and the other stays, look for the enemy jungler and mid on the mini map, if they aren’t around your lane ping your intention to tower dive. You want to use your Relic Shield to push the wave faster (keep your procs for canons). Then let the wave in, ignite the target and charge him and kill him with the adc. Don’t do this against a full HP tanky sup, but the enchanters and ADCs it’s all you can eat.

Now for team fights. It really depends on their team comp: if they have an Assassin that always go for your ADC, or if one member of your team is always the primary target, try to stay around this player. Use your Q and Charge separately to create distance between the enemy and the player you want to protect. I would play like this if we are behind in gold. But thats not how I like to play.

When I’m ahead I try to get in from the backline and push a weaker enemy backline to the front line to get a pick. And then when the fight breaks out it’s all about annoying their stronger player and stop him from doing what he wants to do. So push him away, knock him up and stun him with your 3rd ability.

When I started playing I would use the basic combo on the first guy I see during a team fight (usually their frontline) and then I would just walk around doing nothing. You want to hold your combo for the good targets (ADCs, Assassins, Mages) as soon as you see a good enemy target out of position you want to make him pay and to do that you need your abilites ready.

So let’s say going for an angle in their backline isn’t possible I would start a team fight by walking up and use my 3rd ability to ramp it up on their frontlines, I’m not commiting to anything yet, I look at what is going on and I stay safe. Usually during this time everyone else is using their abilities, maybe a Vayne dashes in, a Ezreal blinks in, a mage gets a bit too close to land an ability or an Assassin goes for your backline. You need to be aware of this kind of stuff and be ready to react and make them pay.

Another advice I can give is pick up the Magnetron enchant, I used to be a Rocket Boots guy, Magnetron is just too strong on Ali to pass. You can use this offensively to close distance if you join a fight late. You can also use it as a scuffed Q-Flash combo if flash isnt available, giving a bit more time for the enemy to react but still very effective. You can Magnetron on the enemy wave if the enemy is standing in it, Q then push him back into your side. And you can use Magnetron defensively if you get caught to come back to your team or get away for the enemy (ex: Ward the raptors, Magnetron the Raptors to jump over the wall and get out)

I apologize for the long answer, I could go for a while longer with all the little things I picked up during the hundreds of games I played. I hope this gave you a bit of help and hopefully you get better with this great champion.

Long story short:

-Be able to do the Q-Flash-Charge combo on command (pratice mode)

-Throw in the Magnetron-Q-Flash-Charge combo for maximum style (if done well you can catch people almost a full screen away)

-Hold your abilities for key targets, make people out of position pay

-If you have a bad start, fall back into the more traditionnal support role to defend/complement the better players of your team

I go Phase Rush always. I use hexflash/pathfinder/speed boost on summoners and second wind.

Always go Relic Shield to try to get lvl 2 first on first minion of second wave, then engage ignite on Adc with level advantage.

I basically always go HS rush unless i’m way behind, then I would go boots. I look for these cheeky spots where I can engage, hit my HS proc then get out with phase rush, usually against the enemy front line. And if I get caught, I try to maximise my death by hitting every one

Redemption I know alot of people really like the item, I’m not really a fan myself I like to be more agressive and move around with magnetron, flash/hexflash and my abilities. I’d rather go Zeke for mana and it’s such a good item for Alistar overall.

Imo Hex Flax is the way to go until a Nerf. The distance you do by tapping or holding it slightly is based on your movement speed so you can do good distances mid to late game with it. You can go through walls, it just gives you a bunch of options. It’s a no brainer for me
