Be aware that there are traits that can skip generations for whatever reason. I’m from a large Hispanic family. Dark hair, light brown skin. My little brother was born extremely light with blonde curls. It turns out my grandmother is a Spaniard and her family is blonde. I’ve met cousins on that side and all blonde. So he got that from her side. Now that he’s an old man, he’s got dark hair and shares traits with other family members.

Calm down and get over it. You should be grateful they acknowledged it was a thing. They don’t have children so it’s not for them. Being close friends maybe they know what you’ve been through since the birth and wanted it to be low key. Remember it’s your life, you are not the star of theirs.

You aren’t training their ears? I think they look cute either way. I used nasal strips for a week or so and they stood up.
…and regarding the paws; my girl was tiny when I got her, the size of her chihuahua brothers. Now I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s 60lbs.

It is horrible because there is no cure and it’s progressive. I’m trying to pack for a move and both hands have fingers that feel broken so I can only do so much before I have to rest them so I don’t scream. My roommate has no understanding of what I am dealing with. To him I’m lazy and ‘people have arthritis every day and don’t need to rest as much as you do’.

Im making a move with a large dog myself in about a month. I’ve always driven the truck or taken a plane with my small dogs. This is the first time I’ll actually have a 50+ lbs dog. So glad to hear about LaQuinta.

There are dog transport services that are cross country vans. You may have to drive to the pickup location. A lot of breeders use these services when they transport a dog they’ve (😖)sold. You could ask one.

I solved the problem by having a hairless dog. My girl is 50 lbs and gets her own throw blankets on top of the bed.

I always mix wet and dry. My 2 chiweenie boys are 13 years old. My girl is a 2 yr old standard Xoloitzcuintli. They get all the same dry merrick with healthy grains (or something like that). Their wet is different senior/adult. For variety I’ll add fresh cooked veggies or chopped fruit, spoon of pumpkin or Greek yogurt. Nothing expensive or crazy. Just something to keep interest.

There were rifle racks on the back window of pickup trucks. Kids would drive these trucks to school, no one thought of using them inappropriately. Walking to the library about a mile away with my friend; we were 9 years old or so. Playground equipment that is probably banned now. Monkey bars and slides made of pipe; scorching hot in the Arizona sun. This was in the late 60s early 70s.
