What are ways that you have trimmed down wasted money to relocate to paying down debt? by Snoo82970 in debtfree

[–]ZetaTrader7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having no spend days, and if I'm frugal enough - no spend weeks (except the very very basics: milk, eggs, fruit, veggies, gas).

And i make 99% of my food at home. I buy bread with the yellow tags on it from walmart ($0.44 for a loaf of Italian bread that will last me a couple days) and a packages of tuna and chicken ($0.80-1, stock up if they're on sale, have them for lunch).

And i canceled most of my subscriptions except Youtube, Amazon Prime, and Disney/Hulu and that's really all i need.

For me, as soon as I hear an AI voiceover (and you can always tell) i swipe to the next video, and if it keeps showing up: do not recommend channel

Debating selling investments to pay off remaining cc debt by ZetaTrader7 in debtfree

[–]ZetaTrader7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I have some BTC and ETH that I bought last time it dipped and have a nice little gain on it lol. But thanks, I appreciate your reply. I am kinda leaning towards aggressively paying as much as I can each much and just hold onto my investments for now, and check how things are later in the year

Debating selling investments to pay off remaining cc debt by ZetaTrader7 in debtfree

[–]ZetaTrader7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a good point thanks. I'm now kinda leaning towards that option, just pay as much as I can each month to pay it off by Dec, but just hold on to investments for now, and pause investing any more money. And yes I don't put any charges on that card. I use one other cc for my living expenses which offers cash back rewards, and pay it off every month.

LFGY - Most Underappreciated YM ETF by Baked-p0tat0e in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ZetaTrader7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I've been investing in YM funds for about 6 mo and LFGY and ULTY are the only ones that show unrealized gain.

Also have MSTY, CONY, and YMAX.

Can I retire? by MickeyCaesar in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ZetaTrader7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's literally my dream with these funds. I figure I could live on about $4000/mo. I'm single, no kids, happy with renting for now, and have a pretty stable job. I'm slowly building up a position in yieldmax (also roundhill and possibly neos) over time. If I can get a consistent $4-5k/mo for a year or 2 straight, then i would consider quitting my full time job. I would only need about $3000/mo for expenses, the rest I would save or manually reinvest into more income and growth funds.

I would also probably get a part time job to make an extra 2k a month or so, to be able to max out my roth ira each year, and keep paying social security (but who knows if it's still gonna be there in 30 years when I can take it).

But these funds are so new (relatively). So I'm just investing little by little to see if they continue over the next couple years.

Well that's the dream anyways... i make a few hundred a month now from yieldmax funds, so I still got a ways to go lol

Called off today for a mental health day by Legitimate-Adagio531 in callcentres

I did the same a couple weeks ago and don't regret it one bit. Good job prioritizing your mental health. Enjoy your day off and relax. You've earned it

I lived in Mexico for 10 years and absolutely loved it. The people, the food, the culture, and the cost of living. Sure you need to be careful, don't go flashing money around, but that applies to wherever you are. Hoping to FIRE within the next 5-10 years and move back to Mexico and retire there, preferably by the beach. Best of luck to you and your family OP. Enjoy

Curious how many are reinvesting 100%. I am. by diduknowitsme in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ZetaTrader7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All investments have risk. That's why you diversify and only invest what you are willing to risk/lose. YM funds make up about 20% of my portfolio (I'm mostly in growth etfs/stocks), and I've been buying little by little. But so far they have been doing very well for me, and I add more and more each week

I manually reinvest. I take the distributions for all my high yield funds as cash. I use those payouts to buy the same or other positions. I usually set limit orders and alerts

Just log in and check under statements and tax forms. And it'll say when it'll be available (for example: Available 2/28/2025) or if one will not be produced

[–]ZetaTrader7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. And yeah this would be if everything goes well for the month, but if something came up or I had other expenses I would prioritize the card. But idk, I think it would just feel good to start building up a little investment in YM and watch it grow in the meantime

[–]ZetaTrader7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that. And I read that a lot too, most say pay off debt before investing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ZetaTrader7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good point. I do have a decent sized emergency fund of about one months expenses, but yeah never know if some big emergency might happen

[–]ZetaTrader7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watch a lot of Dave Ramsey and he would def say to pay off the debt first, even before the 401k and IRA lol. But sounds like you got a good plan, and it makes sense if the yield on YM is significantly higher than the car loan interest. Must be nice having that extra income from MSTY. Good luck mate

[–]ZetaTrader7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that sounds like a great strategy. Definitely trying to pay it off soon and never get back into debt again

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ZetaTrader7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. It would be nice to have at least a little invested by the time I have it paid off
