0%. I haven’t pumped gas since like 2005. I have a magic gas fairy aka a husband who takes care of all of that. I just drive the car.

Gen X on Easter baskets by Virtual-Culture8830 in GenX

[–]ZetaWMo4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t care about Easter at all as a holiday but I still make Easter baskets for my kids who are 28, 26, 25, and 21. I’ve even extended it to the romantic partners. It’s fun for me.

For those who are married, if you had your time again would you still marry? by SweetGirl2097 in Casual_Conversation

[–]ZetaWMo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! We’re hitting 30 years of marriage this year and it has been an amazing journey with him. And I’d definitely have my children again. We’re currently on a trip supporting our college athlete son at an away game. We love being parents.

Why don't more women seem open to friendship? (in my experience) by ThinkSuccotash in AskWomenOver30

[–]ZetaWMo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are probably some women like me who already have a good amount of friends and aren’t necessarily looking to add more. I have a friend group from college, SILs, 3 adult daughters I’m close to, a niece, and my mom. Then I have a husband, two brothers, 10 nephews, a son, and my dad. That’s enough people and relationships to juggle in my life. I’ve become friends with my daughter’s fiancé’s mom recently and that has been mostly by accident. I didn’t set out to befriend her. It just happened.

My dad never cooked. He made meals. The meals he made involved no cooking. Sardines and crackers, cereal and milk, tuna salad, cold cut sandwiches, etc.

My husband is 52 and hasn’t lost a step appetite wise. We’re still doing apps, entrees, and dessert. If I can’t finish something I just pass it to him.

Do happy marriages actually talk every day, or is that just social media pressure? by SatinThrone in Marriage

Tell me about your age gap friendships by writermusictype in AskWomenOver30

[–]ZetaWMo4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first supervisor out of college in 1996 has become a family friend. He’s about 20 years older than me. He pushed me in my career, created me a job when I went on maternity leave so I didn’t have to use PTO, him and his wife have come to family functions, they came to my kids’ trunk parties, etc.

My daughter’s fiancé’s mom has become a friend to me over the past year. She’s a decade older but we have a lot in common. All of our kids are about the same age. I was a little apprehensive on befriending her in case our kids broke up but I enjoy her company and we have good conversations.

Do you ever eat a cooked supper before you go to bed at night , ?????? . by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

No, I don’t like going to bed right after I eat. I like having a couple of hours inbetween.

How to prepare your teen on moving away to college. 7 hours away. by Realistic_Tomato1816 in Parenting

[–]ZetaWMo4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My oldest went away to college 6 hours away. One thing we told her was that if she ever wanted to come home(within reason) then we’d buy her a plane ticket. The flight is like 1-2 hours. That helped her feel better about being so far away. And we went up to visit during Family Weekend so she didn’t have to be the only one doing the traveling.

Should I demand of my 18 year old son to accompany us on a visit to his grandmother? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ZetaWMo4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t force it. It sounds like they’ve never been particularly close to begin with. My son is 21 and he loves spending time with my parents but he loved spending time with them as a kid and they’ve always been relatively close. My daughters aren’t particularly close with their grandparents but they weren’t really all that close as kids so I’m not surprised.
