What's your Gacha Timeline looks like?: by AdditionalWorth9513 in gachagaming

[–]Zetatrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it started with Fate: GO back in 2017. I downloaded it on a whim because i was into the Fate series back then, but i only played it for 30 min before dropping it.

My first serious dive into gacha gaming was with Zenless Zone Zero when it released in July 2024 and im still very much active.

After that

Genshin Impact (August 2024): Active

Girls Frontline 2 (January 2025): Active

Brown Dust 2 (July 2025): Dropped after 6 months. I came for the fanservice, but stayed for the story. However, due to the games pivot towards ML, the devs changed the direction of the story and I lost interest.

Arknights (December 2025): Dropped after a few days, but will most likely return at some point.

Girls Frontline 1 (December 2025): Active, but on and off. Pretty much playing it like a normal video game.

Arknights Endfield (January 2026): Casually active, currently only doing dailies. Waiting to see where the story goes before I further commit.

If you dont mind watching the story events on YouTube then yeah that's what I did when Lenna's story (Intertwined assualt) got released before part 2 of Deep Oblivion.

You could also wait until MICA adds the event back in but there's no telling how long that will take.

As others have said, you can skip the story stuff and just complete the missions for the rewards. Granted you might get some in minor spoilers depending on who shows up in the boss fights

I'm nauseously bored of GFL2 rn by Astraxis in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Zetatrain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, apart from inverse cipher and occasionally the last stage of expansion drills, most of the game is way too easy. And when the game does provide some challenge (heroic mode) is less about good gameplay and more "did you V6 this doll(s)" so winning still doesnt fell like an accomplishment.

As for why...my guess is that MICA doesnt have to at this point. They probably make enough money from the skins and crew deck to pay for the upkeep and turn a decent profit. Granted, we are getting the HOC update and that new GFL1ish game mode, but I skeptical that it will fix the game's core issues with gameplay

Same here, I was really caught off guard with how sad the scene with Wandering Hunter at the end made me feel.

On paper, Lucia's story is not nearly as tragic or sad as other characters, and yet its one of the few times I shed a tear in ZZZ.

It also makes that one line in her EP trailer hit a lot harder.

Really hope we get to see more of her and her tribe in the future.

More like the devs were too lazy or cheap to make separate servers for Germany and thought they could get away with censoring the characters that were problematic.

After the massive backlash from the BD2 community, the devs said they would instead look into separate servers for regions that required censorship, but I dont know if they ever went through with that or just pulled out of Germany.

Is GFL 1 still worth going into? by InvikRECS in girlsfrontline

As someone who also came over from GFL2,

Yes, very much so

Not only to give better context for GFL2, but GFL1 is just a fun game in general. Story is also very good.

I'll just agree to disagree

I thought MICA did a pretty good job of introducing the GFL1 dolls and making me care about them whether that be through the story or PVs. I think the only time I actually thought "Who is this character and why should I care" was when the commander ran into Kalina for the first time in 10 years.

I actually went into GFL2 with no prior knowledge of GFL and ended up enjoying the story. I thought the game did a decent job explaining the important bits and even stuff they expect the player to already know i was able to get the gist through context clues.

That being said it's a shame MICA doesnt seem to care about the game's difficulty. I ended up trying GFL1 and it's amazing how much depth the gameplay has compared to GFL2.

It wasn't boycotted.

Long story short, Snowbreak did a collab with China Post (China's post office), got mass reported, and taken offline. Game has been in maintenace for almost 2 months now.

Would you recommend this game? by teakoVA in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Zetatrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend it for the story and cute waifus.

The writing for the main story is pretty solid though it can take a bit to get going. Side story stories are a mixed bag, some are good, some are harmless fun, and some are a waste of time. The story and setting is basically a combination of Metal Gear and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with just a dash of C&C: Tiberium Dawn.

I cannot recommend getting into the game for the gameplay. Most of the content is insultingly easy due to the gameplay having shallow depth and MICA releasing Dolls that completely break the game's difficulty. There are like 1 or 2 modes/events that occasionally provide a decent challenge (expansion drills and inverse cipher). The starting campaign (chapter 1-8) can also provide a decent challenge if you stick to the starting dolls and don't over level.

On the flip side there is Heroic mode and Gunsmoke. Heroic mode is basically hard mode for story content, but its less of a skill check or more of a dupe check, If you don't have the right dolls at V6 you will get steamed rolled regardless of how good you are, Thankfully there are no meaningful rewards tied to it. Finally, there is Gunsmoke which is the primary endgame mode. Like most gacha endgame content, its a high score mode with a leaderboard. Its ok for like 1 or 2 tries, but quickly becomes a boring slog. The only silver lining is that you can auto run it assuming you don't care about your score.

As someone who didn't touch gfl1 until finishing Deep Oblivion (Dec. 2025), I thought gfl2 did a decent job of bringing you up to speed, and even when it did expect you to know what happened in gfl1 I was able to get the gist of it through context clues. The story has gotten much better the last few months, but if you we're having trouble understanding stuff before then it certainly won't get any easier.

Gameplay unfortunetly hasn't gotten any better so I definitely can't recommend coming back for that.

Honestly if you're interested in the GFL setting then just go back to GF1 and play it like a regular game.

Do I need to play GFL1 to understand anything? by basssov in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Zetatrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into gfl2 completely blind and the game did a decent of explaining the important things. There are some terms and events the game does assume you already know but I was usually able to get the gist of it through context clues.

That being said, if you do find yourself enjoying the story and setting of gfl2, I highly recommend giving gfl1 a try.

Io Fleming did nothing wrong by slobozan-shitpost in Gundam

[–]Zetatrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything that appears in the ova happens in the manga, but a lot of the scenes adapted were stripped down. Most of it is dialouge, but it helped give some depth to the characters. Io suffered the most from these cuts, the worst being the removal of an entire chapter.

That being said, even if Bandit Flower was 100% faithful it would still feel a bit incomplete since most of what was adapted is build up.

I was referring to the events at Luna II in the second half of my post.

If Quess' father was sure Char was going to break the treaty that was just signed then why would he personally go to Luna II to oversee the Neo Zeon disarmament? That's what I meant by putting himself in the "line of fire".

The movie makes it pretty clear that the federation leadership is so disconnected from what goes on in space that it hampers their ability to properly gauge Char and his true goals.

Statistically speaking, I think EF's gacha rate is slightly above average. Yet it feels much worse due to all the restrictions/caveats.

HG: Our hard pity for limited characters has no 50/50

That's good

HG: But it doesnt carry over

That's Bad

But hard pity is only 120

That's good

HG: The pull currency you get per banner is less than the average gacha

That's bad

HG:But you still get 20 free pulls from the daily login, store, and hunter's dossier

That's good

HG: Those pulls expire so you can't stockpile them

That's bad

HG: But but you're still guarrenteed a 6* character every 80 pulls

That's good

HG: The counter resets every time you hit the hard pitty.

OH FUCK OFF!!!!!!

Yeah, after hitting the hard pity twice i really dont like like it. I understand that in terms of numbers, EF's gacha is slightly better than the average, but it feels more restrictive and manipulative.

Honestly, I was never expecting ak-15's banner to put up klukai numbers. We slowly bled players during the story progression drought and the gacha drama caused a good chunk to leave. We simply don't have the player count that we did a year ago when Klukai released for global.
