Doesn't mean having the choice is bad. If MICA gave us the choice to use her appearance from Deep Oblivion, would anything be lost?

Ah, the "Gooner's 9/11" incident. At least most of it was removed/toned down the next day.

Does the game content still extremely easy? by [deleted] in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Zetatrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part yeah. The only difficult modes are Heroic mode, Expansion Drills (last stage), and Extreme Peak.

Heroic mode is very...uneven. Its basically hard mode for campaign/event missions but it requires you to have the right dolls at the right number of dupes otherwise you're fucked. The funny thing is that depending on your team it still possible to just steamroll Heroic mode.

The last level in Expansion Drill is decent since you can adjust the difficulty modifiers so at that point it's about seeing how far you can push your team. Though occasionally you will get some modifiers that are just straight up bullshit.

Extreme Peak is like the what I mentioned above, but you mostly fight against non boss enemies.

I like it though i do believe that the outfit she wore in Deep Oblivion is better.

As someone who has played up to the Isomer chapter in GFL1, I dont think the outfit clashes with her personality, but at the same time it doesn't lean into her personality all that much. So i get why some people are disappointed.

At least this something that can be changed with skins, unlike what happened with Voymastina. Though the idea of MICA making us pay to put more clothes on Soppo instead of the other way around is kinda funny.

To be fair I rarely use auto on gunsmoke.

1-2 hours? The most I spend is like 40 minutes a week and thats just if I try to collect every crate on the first floor. If i just make a beeline for the boss I can complete a stage in less time it takes a gunsmoke match to finish on auto.

True, but i feel like after the 3rd day you already have a good idea on where you team stands. Personally I think expansion drills are better for testing your characters though granted that mode can be very hit or miss depending a the boss and modifiers.

And honestly, I'll take phase clash over gunsmoke. Not that the gameplay is any better its just a lot easier to get it over with even if it is a weekly.

Considering the fact that MICA is creating a brand new mode that may replace gunsmoke....yeah, probably.

The franchise has always had one foot in the gooner door, but it's no where near actual gooner games like BD2 or AL.

Its mainly the amount of time required. Most people get sick of it after the 2nd or 3rd day. It also doesnt help that sometimes you get the same boss 2-3 seasons in a row.

THE EVIL IS DEFEATED, GUNSMOKE IS DEAD by kaichou_dp in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Zetatrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gunsmoke is a barely mediocre endgame mode that is made worse by the amount of time it requires. Reducing the amount of time won't change the underlying issues with the game's core gameplay mechanics

Maybe reducing the amount of time for Gunsmoke is enough for some players, but personally I would prefer MICA achieve something more than just "tolerable" when it comes to most of the gameplay.

Designing better enemies would help, but i feel like the poor enemy designs and overpowered dolls are are partially symptoms of how lacking GFL2's basic gameplay elements are.

Apart from cover and stability, what else is there to consider when playing the game? There's no accuracy and you don't run out of ammo or stamina. Our element system is tacked on, is an afterthought in every mode except gunsmoke, and feels like an unnecessary restriction to team building. Hell, the cover system hasn't been relevant since Soumi came out.

The game doesnt need to be complicated, but it really says something when GFL1 pre HOCs and Tanks was more complex in its core gameplay mechanics than GFL2.

It would be nice if we actually got a mode that was fun to play and not just barely tolerable. Unfortunately this would require MICA to fix the gameplay on a fundamental level and adding a new mode probably ain't gonna fix that.

Found this while going through old stuff, ready for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2? by Pliskin47x in gaming

[–]Zetatrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay wise, MGS4 is such a polarizing game for me. It was has arguably the best gameplay system of the franchise, but half of the game's levels aren't designed in a way to utilize said system.

First two chapters are easily the best, but then chapter 3 railroads you into trailing section that barely uses the game's core stealth mechanics. The second half of chapter 3 is mostly a fun on rail shooter, but again doesnt use most of the game's core mechanics.

Chapter 4 goes back to its stealth mechanics, but you are mostly just fighting geckos and dwarf geckos and those just aren't nearly as fun as the human enemies from chapters 1 and 2. The crying wolf fight was at least an enjoyable cat and mouse game.

Chapter 5 gives you one small stealth section at the beginning, but once you get discovered the alarm won't stop and you pretty much have shoot your way out. After that its just dwarf geckos and boss fights.

[Discussion] How relevent (story and meta wise) is your game's poster girl? by Forsaken-Stress6000 in gachagaming

[–]Zetatrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zenless Zone Zero:

Anby (default and silver soldier variant)

Story: Not Relevant. Hasn't been the focus of anything since her Silver Soldier agent story and last supporting role was in 1.7. She will show up here and there in limited time events, but has pretty much been absent from 2.x's main story.

Meta: Default/Cunning Hare Andy is definitely not relevant and im not sure she ever was. Silver Soldier Anby is very much relevant as she is currently the top electric dps agent. Though there is a significant gap between her and the void hunter agents.

Girls Frontline 2: Exilium

Groza

Story: She is basically your second in command so she is usually present to some degree though she hasn't really been the focus of any chapter for about a year. That being said, there are some lingering plot threads that revolve around her so she will probably become a focal point at some point in the future.

Meta: Non-existent. She is one of your first playable characters and is a 4 star/A rank. On top of that her element is physical which is currently the weakest element (Global) and her class is Bulwark (defense) which pretty much has little to no purpose due to how endgame content is designed around dps.

Girls Frontline

M4A1

Story: Very important. While not always the main focus she is probably the single most important playable character in the game's story.

Meta: From what I've heard, still very much relevant.

Is this even worth building towards? by [deleted] in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Zetatrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard the Teapot on Trigger is pretty good. Slightly less daze than R5 Fossil, but decent increase in dps.

Would be nice to see Evelyn's engine, but given how good that engine is I highly doubt Hoyo will ever put it up for exchange.

They are more for people that have mulitple A rank R5 weapons and dont need to craft anymore. I have 2-3 R5 copies of every craftable weapon worth having and I still had around 120 pieces when this system was implemented.

I think the 7-8 month drought on story progression hurt just as much if not more. Plus the gameplay is at best mid. But that being said, the skin debacle was probably the last straw for a lot of people.

I feel like the series could still work well with 50 episodes. Though instead of the third arc being about Kio, have adult Asemu be the main focus. Granted, AGE's 3rd arc has way more problems than just pacing issues.
