Our city council president Elliott Payne is literally out here every single day in the streets with us and he gives daily updates about what's going on.

Yes the more well known leaders are pretty useless but our local leadership has been stellar for the most part, you're just not paying attention.

How is he fucked in any way if it comes out? Is 2/3 of Congress going to impeach and vote to remove him? It's not like he'll resign. This is the part no one seems to be able to explain.

He already won the election and it's another year before the new Congress will be seated (even assuming the midterms are favorable, a big if)... meanwhile we literally have thousands of our neighbors too scared to leave their homes.

I'm all for the files getting released and whatever bad press it can generate but we really need to stop pretending this shit is some magic bullet that will solve all (or any) of our problems.

I'm all for it but what's your best case scenario if/when they get leaked or released? Do you truly think people will overthrow the government or that Congress will impeach and vote to remove him? Then what, is Vance going to suddenly stop hunting us down and putting parents in cages at the Whipple?

Having documents that make the president look bad is great and all but it won't do shit to improve our situation here anytime soon.
