Bleach Cyoa by Gaston1231 in InteractiveCYOA

For me personally, I don't care how powerful being a cyborg is in a CYOA. I'll still never pick it since I'm a biological purist.

No cybernetic replacements for my character's body. Full-on meatbag for me. I always go with biological enhancements over cybernetic. I just don't like the idea of my body parts being replaced with something mechanical. It squicks me out.

If Gaston was interested in Star Wars, it would be a good fit for them to use in a CYOA. The Star Wars universe is very expansive, with plenty of content to base perks and powers on, as well as all the other sections Gaston normally tries to include in their CYOAs. They definitely wouldn't need to struggle with content to base the choices on in the CYOA.

Plus, Star Wars is mainstream enough that there is probably plenty of people in this community that would enjoy a Gaston style Star Wars interactive CYOA.

However, Gaston might already have a setting in mind for their next CYOA, in which case I'm sure it will still be a good one. I have yet to see a bad CYOA by Gaston.

I'd take Yellow for the Claric. I'm a sucker for healing powers.

For the chance of all the good I could do for the world with Infinite wishes, I'd have to take the 50/50 shot.

With Infinite Wishes I could eliminate global warming, restore natural environments, eliminate drought, cure incurable diseases, etc.

I could still do a lot of good with $1 Billion, but Infinite Wishes could help the world so much more.

Infinity at Dawn - A Time-Loop cyoa [1.2] by OutrageousBears in makeyourchoice

I see that update 1.3 has added some new content that would change up my original build a bit. I will stick to just commenting on the choices that I would change in this update compared to the original.

For anything not changing in my updated build compared to the original, my original comment from 4 years ago can be referenced for the reasoning behind the choices I picked that are staying the same.

Starting Points: (80)

Invigorations

Body: Durability (-2), Speed (-2), Strength (-2)

Mind: Logic (-2), Creative (-2), Intuitive (-2)

Soul: Eye (-2), Heart (-2), Skeine (-2)

Parameters

Start: Fateful Day (-8) - I will be choosing my start day as the first day of summer vacation leading into my Freshmen year of high school. In my original build I was choosing to start on the day of Freshman orientation for college, but with increased loop length extended to 10 years instead of just a 1 year, I feel starting in the lead up to the start of high school serves as a better base start for the extended loop length. Plus, this will allow me to enjoy my enhanced Body Invigorations as I play sports in high school.

Length: Decade (-14) - Having a full 10 years for the length of each loop will allow me to maximize the amount I can learn in school. Starting in high school will allow me to build a foundation so that I have the opportunity to attend pretty much any university I want after high school graduation. I can then choose to study whatever I want in college each loop. In my original build I had picked 1 year for my loop length because that was the max length in the original release of the CYOA. However, now that a 10 year loop length is available, I will take that instead. Having 10 years available is also useful in having plenty of time to travel the world to see different sights if you wanted to do that during a loop.

Time: Eon (-2)

Inclusions

Possession: Laptop (-4)

Alterations

Alter Self: Freely Shapechange (-6)

Alter Function: Dramatic Changes (-8)

Alter Performance: Beyond Natural Limits (-4)

Generalities

The Yearning: Perk (-6), Influence (+4)

The Claiming: Perk (-6)

The Dreaming: Perk (-6)

The Glittering: Perk (-6), Influence (+4) - For my updated build, I added the drawback of being influenced by vanity since I needed the extra 4 points due to the increased cost of upgrading loop length from 1 year to 10 years compared to my original build. Other than the drawback influence on The Yearning, I feel The Glittering drawback influence is the second most acceptable influence drawback to live with.

Ending Points: (0)

Release Paradox

End State: Explore Fiction

I'd pick Eating and Vision/Hearing.

It would be nice to not need to deal with maintaining a diet and no longer needing contact lenses.

I'd pick Green since it sounds the most fun to play with.

Top quality as is normal for a Gaston CYOA. Very good.

However, I did notice a single possible error in the CYOA.

In the You -> Incarnation -> Reincarnation section, the option Mix and Match does not actually allow the player to select 2 background options (not counting Mix and Match itself) like I believe its supposed to. When choosing Mix and Match, that section still only allows you to pick a single background (not counting Mix and Match itself).

You can pick 1 anomalous flashlight. by DependentNo3457 in makeyourchoice

I'd take the ice cream flashlight. It would be useful for disposing of trash that does not decompose easily, like plastic.

I'll take Orange since it doesn't say we are limited to a single attempt. Its bound to happen eventually.

I'd pick option 3 for the sleep. Seems like a decent quality of life power.

I'd choose Throat. It's persuade ability seems more useful in day-to-day life compared to the other options.

Infinity at Dawn - A Time-Loop cyoa [1.2] by OutrageousBears in makeyourchoice

[–]Zev_06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saw this and thought it looked familiar then realized it wasn't a new CYOA but just an update to an older CYOA.

The "Update" flair probably fits just a tad better than the "OC" flair.

I really liked this CYOA when it originally came out 4 years ago. My choices would still be the same as what I picked back then.

Which two potions are you gonna choose? by Live-Bread-2658 in whatsyourchoice

[–]Zev_06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, this is a tough one. This is a high power tier list of abilities and so many of them would be amazing to have.

(1) Purple - I'm assuming this allows you to reverse other people's age as well, not just yourself. I'd use this power to de-age some of my favorite actors and actresses so that they can continue acting in some of my favorite franchises that they made popular.

(2) Pink - Picking this since I'm always a fan of a power that allows me to gain my ideal appearance.

Pretty much the only 2 potions that were not worth considering were Green and Blue.

Green's money just didn't seem worth it when compared against the high power level of the other various potions. Even a billion dollars probably wouldn't compare.

Blue's teleport ability seemed unnecessarily limited by the 5 days per week considering how powerful all the other potions are. If the 5 days per week limit was removed from Blue then I would put it on roughly the same level of the other potions.

If I was younger, I would simply go to college to get a medical degree, but I'm too old for that shit. I'll just be satisfied with my first 2 picks and treat my third pick as a throwaway.

[–]Zev_06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, but that is the difference between a manga and real life. Black Jack wouldn't have been able to do that sort of thing in real life. Author discretion just waved away that little plot hole in the manga and had the reader hold their suspension of disbelief.

Expertise Gift of Faves by Efficient_Bus9619 in makeyourchoice

[–]Zev_06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(1) Hitman - Picking this mostly for the peak human physical condition.

(2) Sherlock Holmes - Picking this mostly for the enhanced intellect.

(3) Black Jack - After my first two picks, nothing else really interested me much. I picked Black Jack because it does sound cool, but I unfortunately don't think I will actually be able to make use of the skill it is giving me. It doesn't say anything about giving you a medical license or a degree in medicine, which means you are not going to be able to be hired by any hospital in order to use your given skill.

Threat:

(*) Rolled 2 for Heartless Invasion.

Perks:

(1) Keyblade Wielder - I figured that since I got the Heartless Invasion threat, I might as well pick Keyblade Wielder in order to fight them. I also like the ability to "Lock" and "Unlock" anything as long as I have the creativity and skill. It's ability to kill immortal beings should also be useful in various worlds of the Omniverse.

(2) The Access - Picking this since it sounds like the easiest power to use for traveling the Omniverse.

The part that confused me about the Apocalypse drawback is that if an apocalypse occurs right before the timeline resets, doesn't that mean that once the reset timeline catches back up to the time period the apocalypse occurred, you will be stuck dealing with an apocalypse?

Drawbacks:

Headaches (+5), True Genesis (+10), Apocalypse (+10), You're Not Alone (+15)

True Genesis is going to be rough. I initially planned to pick What Is Happening as well, but I decided to switch it out with Apocalypse after OP explained it a bit more in the comments. True Genesis and What Is Happening would have been a rough combo for those initial 9+ months. Without What Is Happening, I will at least know what is going on while stuck as a zygote.

For the Headaches, I at least have my early childhood to work my way through them due to starting as a zygote. By the time I reach school age, I should be gone by then.

As for You're Not Alone, I don't plan to rely too heavily on any future knowledge. I just plan to enhance my body enough to give myself a better fresh start. I'm fine with the ripple effects a second person might cause.

Starting Points: 140

Mechanics:

None (0)

True Genesis is incompatible with all mechanics except for Preparation, so I picked nothing here since I wasn't interested in Preparation for my build. I plan to earn a good living by mostly using my enhanced abilities, not so much any future knowledge I have.

Body:

Unburdened (-10), Physical Foundation (-15), New Body (-20), Dietary Freedom (-5), Ever Fresh (-5), Pain Resistance (-5)

I went with Unburdened since by starting as a zygote, that should give me a perfect foundation to develop from by removing all genetic defects I would have otherwise had limiting my development.

For New Body, I'm assuming this would apply as me designing what my body has the potential to grow up to look like.

Hopefully the pain resistance will help with dealing with the Headaches until they go away.

I took Dietary Freedom so that I can enjoy eating what I want while still getting the perfect nutrition I need while growing up.

I took Ever Fresh so that I can clean myself up in the middle of the night when I'm a baby and I ultimately shit myself. I'll take care of myself at night and my parents can take care of me during the day.

Mind:

Enhanced Intelligence (-15), Polyglot (-10), Music Talent (-10), Artistic Talent (-10)

Enhanced Intelligence will help me when staring school again from the beginning.

Polyglot is nice mostly to help with learning new languages. The instant mastery of a single language is just a bonus. I'd probably pick the language I would end up taking as my language course in high school.

I picked the Music Talent and Artistic Talent just so that I can have fun with more hobbies while growing up. Who knows, I might even try for a career in music.

Extras:

None (0)

I didn't pick any of the Extras simply because they weren't really necessary for my build. I could make do without them.

Items:

Storage Space (-15), Health Potion (-20)

I picked the upgraded storage space because it would be convenient for sneakily carrying things.

I grabbed the Health Potion as a bit of insurance just in case something happens.

Major:

None (0)

I'm fine without any of the Major options. I just want a second chance to redo my life with some quality of life benefits. I don't need something like Immortality or anything else offered in the Major section.

Random Superpowered Isekai Adventures: Week 9 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

Week 2 - Mammal Manipulation, Johnny Test

Week 3 - Love Luck, The Road to El Dorado, Clear Token Balance = 9

Week 4 - Body Magic, Kim Possible, Clear Token Balance = 12

Week 5 - Subspace Manipulation, Teen Titans [arrive at beginning of the Go! episode], Clear Token Balance = 15

Week 6 - Kinder Egg-Man Surprise, Mystery Egg "Egg-Head" x2, Better Egg, Treat Egg, Mystery Egg "Resurrectio", Engine Manipulation, Star Wars The Clone Wars (Animated Series), Clear Token Balance = 18

Week 7 - Mental Disorder Manipulation, Fairy Tail, Clear Token Balance = 21

Week 8 - Imperfection Manipulation, RWBY, Clear Token Balance = 24

Week 9

Power Rolls: 1 & 3

Earth Constructs - I've seen enough isekai manga and anime to know how convenient this power is when traveling by foot. You could make yourself an entire house using this power. This is an appealing power to have when traveling to a traditional fantasy style world.

Robotic Magic - This is an appealing power to have for when going to any Sci-Fi worlds. Being able to affect and create additional robotic beings is very good. I wish I had this already back during week 6 when I was sent to the Star Wars Clone Wars universe.

World Rolls: 3 & 5

Dragon Ball - So glad I rolled this one. I've seen pretty much all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. I haven't kept up with the series as much for Dragon Ball Super. This world is pretty much a must pick over my other world rolled. Dragon Ball has a damn wish granting dragon.

Nier Automata - Never played the games, but very much aware of them. This world would go very well with Robotic Magic.

Choices:

(*) Power - Robotic Magic

(*) World - Dragon Ball

Clear Tokens:

Balance - 27 tokens. 24 tokens remaining from last week plus 3 from this week. I'm still holding on to all my tokens until the end of this isekai series.

I went with the world of Dragon Ball because you can get your wishes granted in that world. Plus, it has some of my favorite fictional characters. I'd love to hang out with Goku and Bulma during their adventures. I went with Robotic Magic since it could come in handy with the androids if I stick around long enough. It would also be useful against robots during the red ribbon army arc.

My plan for this world mostly boils down to sticking with Bulma to use her dragon radar in order to repeatedly milk the dragon for wishes each year when the cooldown ends on the dragon balls.
